I Test the Lan party & Blood Iron with my X3210 B3 , max fsb 500 :( , same problem with Asus P5K3 , Blitz Extreme ...
But with Asus P5K simple , same setting and cooling : max 527mhz :)
I would like the news DK for test my X3210 :)

I updated to the new BIOS.. so far so good.
I'm only experiencing one strange problem:
When I boot, it will hang on the BIOS artscreen... and resetting the PC makes it skip the hang.
Wierd.
I think it was because I had a USB drive running while booting.
It seems like the performance is the same with the P965. Pretty much the same settings in the BIOS with my e6600, 400 x 9 Ram running at 804mhz. evga 8800GTS 320 oc

I can actually run the memory higher on this board then my p965 and will probably be able to get more "juice" out of the CPU. I haven't had much time to mess with it.
I got mine from NCIX and its also the all Solid Cap Version! we should set up an official thread for Bios updates and settings, like the other boards have.
what are the major difference between this board and the more expensive LT and UT P35 boards. Ive had quite enough of Asus and am looking for something that is rock solid for 400X9 w/ 4GB of DDR2 1000. Im not on a quad right now but in the future im sure i will be.

the layout of the board is diff then the blood iron, higher quality components on the Dark...better cooling, it seems everyone who is ordering right now is getting the all soild cap version, id go for this over the blood iron but 60 bucks is also another 2 gig of ram or an upgrade from 8800gt to GTS, my vote still goes for the Dark

Hey guys, just started tweaking my system last night and im getting a 10 degree difference between smart guardian and coretemp? dont know which one to trust? bios update needed?
Of this board, and the LT P35, which do you think would be better for 24/7 O/Cing? I plan to get either the e8500 or the Q9450. With the q9450 I would need a higher fsb to hit 4g. What other differences would make this worthwhile over the LT, or vice-versa.
NEW PRICING i spoke with motherboardpro today and showed them a competitive link from ncix for 142.xx$ and they right away changed their web site pricing so now its 141.99!!!!!!!! i got me a dark instead!! motherboardpro rocks.
Does this board have a warranty sticker on the Northbridge, stating that the board's warranty is void if removed, like the Blood Iron?

On this board my coretemp and smart guardian are the same.
my cpu is lapped. +250.0mv or 1.52 running at 29c idle and 58c load using core temp. I also have a very good air cooling case with 11 or 12 120mm fans in it :)Quote:

some questions others have asked but have yet to seem to recieved a reply to..
aside from the "extras" with the lt version lanparty how is this mobo compared to the lt..
how well does this dark really do with quads 24/7 i have seen 3 blood irons now have to go back.. 1 of them actually melted the board by the psu fets..this is def a concern for me.
a few have mentioned problems running all 6 sata ports at the same time. praz said to enable achi rom mode. has anyone verified all 6 will work at the same time. i know they had a issue with the lt version that needed a update..
how well do the sinks do on this the nb and psu fets ones.. do they run as hot as other p35's and do they need either a different sink or simply a fan on them to allow a stable 24/7 high fsb oc...
i know there were a few others but cant remember them all now. i know 4 or 5 people interested in this board that do not frequent forums they have asked me these questions and i said i would ask and give them the replies. i am also deciding between these 2 models now.. and would love the same info. thanks
zfactor I haven't tried all 6 SATA ports, 'cose I don't have some many drives.
Though I do not have a Quad, just an E6300 the temperature is quite good. I've had an Asus P5B-E (I965 cipset) and the NB was very hot compared to DFI, even at stock frequencies.
In the pic you'll see the temps I have with E6300@3200MHz - open case with only one fan. These days I'll arrange the case properly and give you an input.
Just one thing: I've had to cut a bit from the frame that came with my Ninja Plus B, 'cose of those capacitors near CPU
My result with E6550 and DFI LP DK P35 :up:
Mobo is 100% passive cooled (CPU / VGA -> watercooled, no fans in case)

One thing: This board it seems it overvolts!
If I put my E6300@3,2GHz @ 1,23VTT (in BIOS) ITE smart guardian will read 1,28V at full load. CPUz 1.43 has the same readings.
If I set in BIOS 1,28V then the board do not overvolts.
Is it possible to be a feature, not a bug? It is scalling the Vcore with the CPU frequency?

I'm running at 3200MHz, so the FSB is 457, only with Vdimm and CPU VTT voltages modified.
I can reach around 534 FSB then I think my CPU has his FSB wall.
I advise you to set all your memory settings an AUTO, and some 2,2V on Vdimm. But is advisable to run 540 FSB with RAID?
BTW, Is there a software to read the BIOS settings through win?
Nice FSB chri$ch. So with Vivio's results and I think Wind's we have just a few people that have reached over 500fsb. I really wanna buy this board but seeing a few more reach over 500 would be nice. This thread should definitely be official I had to do some fishing for it, cause I've heard rumors this board is a good buy. I was considering BloodIron but it's so damn fugly.

I wonder how much of a difference the 4-phase digital PWM makes vs. what the blood iron has (not digital?) - especially for quads and the whole melted 'fets issue.

Smokin_Joe Go for LT if the money isn't the issue. DK has little features available, but the raw performance is almost the same. I have not having firewire and especially some control of the fan controllers through WIn or BIOS.
i have a freind now running the dark and he also has the lt version and he loves this mobo. after talkig with him yesterday he said his 8400 wll actually clock higher in the dark with less playing around than in the lt version.. at least that is his experience. he been oc'ing for a long time now..
the board did have a bit of v droop with his quad though not bad from what he said but more than the lt

my 8400 isnt nearly as good as what i have seen others run, plus i am still unsure of how the cpu VTT CPU PLL and clockgen voltages need to be address in relation to the vcore.
right now its 1.45v @ 4.2ghz
my vdroop is only 0.02v
so i set the bio to 1.47 (or as close as i can) so vcore is 1.45v under load.
i am using a Gemini II cooler so not the greatest but a decent cooler.

More great results i see. :up: I just bought myself a TRUE and i read someone's post in here about having to mount it horizontally on this board. Does that mean with the fan pointing up or down? I was really wanting to mount this thing sideways so the fan can blow towards my rear exhaust fans.
@smokin joe, I think you can mount the TRUE120 vertically. My Ultima 90 which is much smaller than the TRUE, mounts sideways to blow towards the exhaust fans.

Standard is 1.55V up to 1.95V (if I remember correctly).
It helped me a little bit in getting my quad running stable at that speed.
Had to play and adjust several settings, which makes it nice.

I just purchased a DK P35-T2RS and an E8400 plus Transcend 1200+ 2GB ram. I'm getting the cpu from Mwave later today and I'm gonna overclock it. I think the board can do 1200+ stably with the ram. Hopefully everything goes as intended, I don't want to RMA anything (DOA!). My first Intel CPU since the Pentium 166Mhz. :)
Did that prime95 run go for a full 8 hours??? I am poised to use this board on another build i am doing for a friend. I was concerned with the 4 phase PWM not being able to handle the quad but your post intrigued me.Quote:

Would it be worth buying the DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS when I already have an Abit IP35 Pro being RMA'd? Would it be a better board for OC'ing? I know somebody that will import it from america (newegg) for me but I will have to pay for customs.
That Abit board is a sweet one. I don't think the Lanparty DK would be a significant improvement over that board.Quote:

Overall cooling is a must, I got a 120mm for the PWM/RAM/NB and another 120mm at the base for the SB area and I'm just OCing mildly for now... :D :up:

Maybe it might be a heat issue with the NB and PWM's, as they got over 70°.

The stock NB sticker/wty issue is a PITA since NB temps are uncomfortably high with overvolted quads.
Indeed, those spots (NB and PWM's) need some good active cooling.
