Yeah if you manage to get 480+ 1:1 3-3-3-4 on 975 to work without the board dying rather quickly it will be good competition for P35, but that's not the easiest thing. GL running 480 on quad with 975 also. I think KP knows what's best ;)

I had a good P5W DH that did 1:1 @ 475 FSB and 3-3-3-4 but it died while it was...no...not benchmarking...not orthos...while it was packed in its box sitting in my room :D
And that was on stock board ( no mods ) and Vmch @ 1.85V on stock cooling ( + a fan above NB HSF )
Anyways...I better stop looking at such threads now 'cause I'm getting 'frustrated' I haven't benched seriously ( LN2 ) since May :(

I think about 780mhz 6-5-5-15-1T on that one. If I kick up to 1800mhz div say cas 7+, I end up with lower overall FSB which is more of a hit at this point. If it keeps scaling to 5400mhz at these settings, it will be lightning fast.Quote:

KP, can you give us an impression of how easy/hard it is to work with the F1 pot during a 3dbench?
I think Gautam said that you have to pour frequently with it, but even if you suck at pouring you can keep the temperatures extremely stable.
Yep, I jived with it instantly. It was blissful. Really really frequent pouring though, not for a first timer and even for someone experienced, running two or even one GPU units alongside can get a little difficult. Can't ever have it all though, perfect temperature control will always require frequent pouring. The test of a good container is not how easy it is, it's how big it lets you clock. :D
Btw a little birdy told me we should be seeing pics in only a matter of hours now.

@Vince: AFTER doing some calculations, IF you bench your VGAs @ 1005/1224, you'll get ~27200marks+ in 2k6 with your CPU power...... ;) :D
EDIT: I also figured out that (at least) NVIDIA guys could get a way better Deep Freeze score than what we get right now....
PLUS I'm working on the OVP, Over Current issue on those 8800s so we can bench without sutting down the VCore of it from protection when we feed them more that ~1.65VCore...;)

Deep freeze always been my favorite test of all 3dmarks on LN2, it just seems right with the ln2 boiling off in your face and inf ront of the monitor. :p: With a bit of luck and some hardwork, 1023/1224+ 5270-5288mhz is what I am ramping up to. Pics of unit as soon as I can.

Still have to finish testing with some other gpus before they make the grade. They are a big step form current ones, so more trial and error involved getting them tuned nice for both cards.

DDR2 and DDR3 blitz in XFIRE are almost identical in terms of performance matching your clocks/system power dude:

I ran both setups at 450x8, 450x10,450x11, and 465x11. Ran the ddr3 at 6-6-5-15-1T as I believe that is what seemed the fastest at 750mhz-775mhz.
Gt1 never came close to gt2 with cards on air at 850/950mhz, and if I put the cards on LN2 at your clocks, both gt1 and gt2 will scale, but gt2 will scale more I'm betting :D. What do you think KINC? I honestly dont want to waste anymore time or ln2 on this setup, but if your convinced that the card power will take gt1 over gt2 and get me 94fps like you guys got, I could run it. It looks to me right now, that you and shams score should be more like 26,500 or so from what I am seeing with a gt1 around 87fps, but can't be 100% for sure until I run gpus on LN2.
What do you think George....does gt1 scale more than gt2 going from air to ln2 on the cards?? It doesn't for NVIDIA gpu's.

So if we are high in CPU - Rams - GPU, GT2 will scale better coz it USES ALL 3 of them dispite the GT1 that after an overclocking level of GPU clocks, ONLY needs CPU and Rams of the system...:)

EVEN if you smash your arss onto ground, you will NEVER get a GT1 better OR EVEN EQUAL with GT2......GT2 will ALWAYS be higher.....;)
I think that Kinc should reconsider the bench of the 27k....I know it's difficult to do so because he has published it now PLUS there is Mushkin (in the backround who wanted a WR or so) etc, BUT if it was me in your place Kinc, I would reconsider this..... ;) ....Though it's up to you....
P.S. Don't worry, I have 4 x ATIs here and next week I'll play with them....NOT to be sure of what I'm writing right now (because I'm sure) BUT to prove that there is NO WAY GT1 be higher OR even equal (close) to GT2.....
.....and remember: After some clocks of the VGA's (from a level and upwards), GT1 needs ONLY CPU and Rams were GT2 needs ALL three of them - CPU, Rams AND GPU power...;)

Difference between GT2 and GT1 certainly becomes smaller when upping the core frequency. The second test was done at 910Mhz, the first one 890Mhz, so only a margin of 20MHz. Difference between GT1 and GT2 was 6.6, after 20Mhz core freq. increase 5.2!

At the end I have never seen 3DMak06 with GT1 score higer than GT2 score, the first was 27k by Kinc and Shamino. At this moment I think (99.9% of probability) this could be a bugged run, that's all. We wait for other future scores to be 100% sure about this.
