Andre, what its the length of the heatsink covering the digital PWM?
http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/143/16zc5.jpg
Also, where are the MOSFETs on this board?
Thanks, Brendan

Hey...Check this out

apeman 69 lower you sig.
lol @ apeman
I refuse to get caught up in the DFI hype machine again after the disappointing 680i board. No more I gotta have it first:ROTF:
cyberspyder, I thought it was the type 3 thermalright for the dfi boards? Yet i have not seen any place with anything but the type 1.
i think the board looks sexy, and its worth the price, but i hate dfi for coming late all the time, i used to be impressed before, but i cant really wait 2-3 months and ignore the abit and asus baords, its just not worth the wait, and please dont give me that "we were tweaking the bios" stuff. everyone tweaks thier bios and my abit boad is kicking at 2000FSB right now and its on the first release bios.
just install the window, it is now running at 400X8 at default VID (1.2875V)
now using 120 extreme :D
Just can't find where in BIOS can disable the 1394 and the dual Lan :ROTF:

nice board!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes sure, P5K Premium is also a solid MB but P35-T2R is sexy.
because now I am using a new G0 Q6600, so I can't compare the overclockability of the two boards, and also the performance at this moment.
But I just find the Vdroop of P35-T2R is abt 0.04V with Damper enable while the Premium is abt 0.02-0.03V, both at full load.
and also the Vdimm drop of P35-T2R is abt 0.07V, e.g. I set 2.19V in BIOS, it shows 2.12Vin window, this seems to be real, coz I get error in ortho. (since my ram is capable of running DDR1000 CL-4-4-4-5 at 2.15V, lower Vdimm will have error)
So I hope if any users who own this MB can report the same issue :)
I hope this board will be available soon in Europe! Some German retailers already listing it from €230 - €270 but none at stock yet. I am willing to pay €250.
took me like a year to load the first page but its worth it . Nice looking board
Just a very quick test, many things not yet test, e.g. FSB limit (MB&CPU), Ram performance.....:)
UV effect :D

Well the good thing is I've never heard of that place before so obviously they have a small quantity. Obviously larger dealers will get larger shipments. It's just a matter of time now...
Q6600 G0 + DFI P35 T2R + 8800GTS Rev. A3....ugh the wait is the killer right now. Can't use my new pc until I get this part. :(
MotherboardPro shows availability on 8/25. The egg and everyone else should have them around the same time. Generally the egg sells at a markup when something like this is released!
i agree with you and tony and everyone else...
but asus released their p5k series decently early at or around $250 and they're quite the good board... it has its quirks here and there but all boards do
if dfi were to release their board the same time as Asus, I'd be willing to pay $300 for it as well...
Dooood, thank you for stating the obvious - "stuff like this takes time, and costs money." In your opinion it's perfect - that which you don't even have possession or know the price of yet - but you have a right to that opinion. I just hope you realise I have a right to mine too.
8/25 is too close to x38 for availability (assuming x38 isint delayed again). And its price will be close to x38 as well, really hard to justify $300 for a p35 board.
absolutely beautiful, a work of art. now I await their X38 board, SLI is a must for me so no P35. :(
...since we have to wait anyway, SLI/X38 results are worth a peek.....
Finally received a full retail release A03, turned down a pre release to make sure i got what you guys will see. Rgone has one also and will be posting on the DFI support forum as soon as he starts testing.
Shipments hit EU and USA early next week with retail shipments next week also i just heard, so if you are thinking of getting one watch the usual DFI outlets closely.
Million things to do here so please don't push for results, I will post as soon as I can.
T
X38 is late October I heard, has this changed?
I have this mobo and layout is not good for watercooling, this mobo is AVERAGE mobo, DFI is not HIGH-end anymore ...
I have better scores on every test with nForce mobo or Asus P35 mobo, now i am working on review and ... this is third DFI mobo in-line where will be my Review result BAD!
So your one bad experience proves to the world that the board is AVERAGE as you put it?
Get real man, half the issues i ever see are user based with the user not fully knowing the best way to tweak a board. I have seen everyone become fixated with FSB of late and judged how good a board is on how close to 500 (now 600) FSB the board will run, with those who have studied where the boards are fastest it is really not worth the effort.
I have a board here and many more will have boards next week, i think it best we judge the board by how a broad range of users do...not just your results and the lack of a "water cooler friendly" layout at this time.
Remember it is not possible to please everyone, thats why we have so many different brands of motherboards out there, just like there are many different brands of sneakers.
Hmmm...is it a true droop or is the software simply reporting incorrectly? Measure the voltage with a DMM both in bios and in windows and measure under load in memtest and in windows memtest/prime95 and see how your results compare. .07 isn't crazy, but it is a tad high if it's correct. In either case I doubt it's a "faulty" board.
@Tony: I can't wait to talk to you about your results with this board on Skype, I'm eager to here how it performs on the tighter straps. ;)
i agree with yoxxy... but isn't part of that having to do with the fact it was done with a magically delicious 6700 (in other words top locked at 10x)?
it'd be interesting to see if there were a X6800 that was capable of 5700-5800 1M pi using higher mults, lower fsb, dividers to get mem 600+ and see if it would indeed be faster than the 6700 since according to Tony higher fsb isn't necessarily better.
I have a retail X6800, no quads, or I have ES6750 and ES6850 or 6400 Allendale.
So it looks like tests will be with the 6800 to keep you happy ;)
Super pi is all about access latency, you can reduce the latency with outright memory speed or you can tweak the chipset and the ram to have the lowest latency it can run and the scores will be equally as fast.
You have to remember to get boards running high FSB's internal latencies have to be relaxed....now if you are chilling the CPU you also chill the board and this has a real positive affect on how well the board clocks up and "may" allow latencies to be tightened again. For most mortals running water or high end air the latency has to remain high and so you lose speed due to increased access latency.
This is why for me 600fsb is worthless, as the boards are running very loose latency to do this and there is no real speed gained, I would much rather run 450ish FSB and ubber tight latency on the chipset and memory with half decent Vmem also ;)
so does anyone know when this board is coming out?
tankguys should have all of the Q6600 g0's delivered sometime next week, so i need a board asap..
motherboardpro.com moved it up to 8/20... even if it does come in earlier than that elsewhere, you better act fast, pull down your pants and bend over...
it's purty
Nice to see those crappy Hooks are gone. :toast2: Looks like someone heard the Cry to stop using Hooks back on the RD600 Thread!
Does anyone know if this is this just a DFI thing or have Intel dropped Hooks for ever!?
It also appears no one can Explain why this Intel Board has nVidia Raid?? I've read this thread backwards & forwards in case I missed relevant info, but several questions have asked "why", with no reply yet!? Beats the crap outta me considering other Intel boards Boast the Slick Matrix RAID.
Can anyone shed some light on "WHY" nVidia RAID & perhaps one of you lucky fellas to already have this board could post some HD Tach results for a couple of Striped SATA150's.
Thanks for info & Nice Pics Andre...Sexy looking board! :)
How can a board not be WC friendly
Never seen that before
The heatpipe transfers are the problem. Removing the NB means you have to find an alternative cooling solution for the rest of the components. Those being the SB & Digital PWM. Thats one helluva SB plate for a P35 board imo but then the 680i is another chipset that demands Water Cooling for the SB and is poorly cooled with Stock Blocks. PWM's get really HOT & DFI appear to have dropped a large lump of metal & External Hetpipe/Fin option to address this issue. As soon as you Water Cool the CPU, those mofsets are hitting 100+ Deg C for no downdraught when using a conventional Heatsink/Fan combo! Unfortunately, I cant cool the SB on my 680i as my 7950 GX2's inner card hangs right over the SB. There are blocks that will fit but I aint happy with the mounts & they arn't specifically designed for the Chipset. I'm considering this board to be rid of VDroops but the use of nVidia RAID concerns the crap out of me! :shakes:
@Tony OCZ
When you get the time, can you also clock this board with one of your lesser retail cpu's? It would give us more mortal types a better idea of how the board can do with a more average cpu.
Thanks.
Board is just plain sexy
Seems to be a really nice board.
Question now is how good and reliable is the digital PWR for high voltages when extreme cooling is being used.
X38 boards will hit the stores earlier than end of october from what I heard.
New BIOS Memory Control is so stronger.
Here is LOW Voltage DDR2 1200 CL5-5-5-15 Dual 32M

If you have this mobo, you could pm me to receive new BIOS.
Andre
wowowowow. d9gmh doing 600 with 1.9v??? what's it able to do at 1.9v in other p35 like p5k?
1.9V for 600Mhz???I want that pair of dimms:DHas anyone posted differences beetwen the use of that thingy(can't remember the name) to use outside the case??
Last I seen http://http://www.motherboardpro.com...T2R-p-338.html
had 26 comming to the states.
Info= Joefriday from DFI Club
hey, and looks like another great Board from DFI, surprising they are early this time for them.
wow, that's some amazing memory Andre... or is it a combination of the board and memory :)
either way, great results!
Andre, what ram is that?
I have set it up in the second day I have owned it but with normal air-cooling only, but all my other stuffs are in my other home, so I can't test it with watercooling and the same condition, while I have tested all the result of my P5K-P with watercooling, so i want to be fair to the two MBs.
Initial test @4GHz by air-cooling: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=129
And I have played 4367MHz of my Q6600 last night, so now I can totally move to DFI to test it such as for 24/7 setting, limit of the MB. ;)
nice.. :) a good comparison.. Asus P5K Premium and DFI P35 Lanparty.. :) I think it deserve a new thread for your posting.. :)
can't wait for it.. :) hey the way.. how is the memory controller of Asus Premium?? does it do DDR2 600 mhz 1.9 volts for your memory?? :)
My rams are not that stronger, 2.25V @ DDR1200 CL5-5-5, and 2.40V @ DDR1250 CL5-5-5, but they are memtest passed voltage.;)
@ DR 1000, 600% passed
http://bbs.ocqq.com/attachments/foru....jpg.thumb.jpg
@ DDR 1250, 300% passed
http://bbs.ocqq.com/attachments/foru....jpg.thumb.jpg
:rocker: DFI really rock! and this time it realy ain't late for the party!. :d
@ erwin
can't wait for the x38 version? :D
really nice of Asus for having a Voltage Damper option.. :) hahaha.. seems like they are listening for there consumers.. :)
now the DFI awaits.. mm.. last time you said 0.07 vdrop right?? hope its only on the Smart guardian.. they should have update the software.. hehehe ;)
hehehe.. not really.. maybe.. I don't know.. hahahaha
Don't hold back bro. :D I hope my bank account would be enough by the time the x38 boards arrive. hehehe
do you accept trade-ins? :D
Blend need some voltage, but it's still better than other mobos.
http://www.iamxtreme.net/andre/P35-T2R/1200-Blend.PNG
Hey guys.. What's the default voltage on this board? I don't want posting issues like with my p5k :(
