ezaleina..could you please post your batch# for your 9550? Mine is a C1 also...just got it ~6 weeks ago, and just got my UD3P(rev1.6) <3 weeks ago. You wouldn't believe the voltages i need to get >4.2, i've tried low, medium, and high MCH/VTT/PLL/vCore..and only high gets me there. Only GTLref of .633 will get me there, any higher is a no-go. Here's mine.
http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...nker/Q9550.jpg
My specs:
- Q9550 C1(TRUE-2x Scythe SlipStream-1200rpm{68cfm/ea} push/pull) auxillary fans cooling RAM/NB/VRMs (open bench right now).
- TRUE- slight lapping, washer-shim mod. Temps aren't a problem(21C-22C ambient-28C idle..60C load @ 4.25/1.425v{CPU-Z} )
- EP45-UD3P (r1.6)
- 2x2GB Mushkin XP PC2 8500
- BFG 9800 GTX+ OC(760/2250/1885- factory clocks)stock cooling
- EA650 or VX550.. alternating
- Seagate 500GB 7200.12
- XP Pro SP2(32)
- CM RC690(5x120mm fans+ 2 on TRUE), once serious benching is done
I think that bios F10e is really bad guys...
I told you i lost my raid...
Now i used flashspi to go to F10b....rebooted and i got a message saying
"CANNOT FIND BACKUP BIOS ON HPA SECTOR BOOTIN FROM BACKUP..."
and again it loaded F10e damn
i tried again and worked but i have a bad feeling that F10e is stored somewhere....
If anyone have a clue i will appreciatte
Cheers

Hey, so I finally got my Q9550 stable at 4ghz, but the memory seems to be what's holding me back. In order to maintain stability, I NEED to run 5-6-6-18 timings, and a speed of only 965mhz and give her 2.2V. This Ram is rated at 1066 5-5-5-15 2.2V. I'd like to raise the speeds a bit, maybe 1112 at 5-5-5-15. What settings should I change for this? Also, is there any setting that seems wrong here? Thanks

Hi guys.
I'm haveing serious problems to oc my EP45 UD3P. I've tried every that i tought and was possible for me and nothing tought 450FSB!
Once i got 500FSB but unstable, just for few mins!
The maximum stable that i got was 450FSB/1.41v/5:8 1080Mhz 5-5-5-15.
Once i got 3.8Ghz(475*8 ) 1.43v with an ASUS P5Q Deluxe. So, my problem wasn't CPU!!!
To get 4.0Ghz(500*8 ) i need 1.55vCORE and everything @ AUTO, but just for few mins and crash!!!!
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Hi Guys...
A bit late to the party wiith this one but hey! My old motherboard died :D
Just a quick question as i'm a bit rusty with the P45 chipset...
Just bought a PCI-e 2.0 8x RAID card and installed it in the second slot (it works fine) but my GPU in slot 1 now only has 8x lanes available...
I was led to believe that it would only drop to 8x 8x mode if 2 graphics cards were installed but here I am with 8x 8x mode with only one...
This led me to think that the P45 chipset only has 16 lanes total available and the board will drop to 8x 8x mode if you put anything in the second PCI-e 16x slot.
As a result of this i am losing about 4000 3dmarks in 3D01 and I would like them back ;)
Am I right?
Anyone have any idea why I can't get 485 fsb stable? Prime usually errors out or the system freezes within 20 minutes. Have tried using F9 and F10e bios'es with no avail. Currently testing on F9

Here is my current 24/7 settings, still more vcore than I had expected to use but temps are fine since I'm on water.
Not too bad of memory bandwidth for 8GB on a Gigabyte board with DDR2-942

Any risk in flashing a 1.6 version of the EP45-ED3P with a 1.1 bios?
I maganed to run 3DM01 with this setup, 40MHz increased resulted in crash. Pretty high temps + not so much time resulted in not so many tweaks...
I'd like to pass 80k ;).
@kelm as I see your setting ,think you might adjust CPU reference and MCH reference ,problably increase up 2 notch or more to show in ET6
=cpu ref 0.8
=mch ref 0.8
I don't know why but someone tell me when using quadcore Ocing with around 500 FSB this should be up a little, and make sure your Vcore can hold you cpu clock.
Gudluck
Could someone post a working link to the UD3P F10e and F10b bios please as the Tweaktown links are down...
Thanks in advance
Edit:
Never mind...found them
Working link here
This is Orthos stable

Having a hard time getting any more FSB to pass.
Does anyone know anything about placing a NB water block on here? Does the heat pipe just slide out of the PWM heat sink? I'm new to this board and I have yet to make my way through the entire thread.
P.S. It needs more volts than my DFI P35 did. :(
finally got the w/c set up and running. got a quick and easy bump to 4400mhz, need suggestions to get 4500+
this is my setup:
ga ep45 ud3r f9
q9650 vid 1.1875
g.skill lv 9600 4x2g
corsair tx750
4870x2
cpu and nb water cooled now, and at the current settings below I run 52/53c prime and 66/67c intelburn- over 20c cooler than hsf before
here are my current settings:

I have tried to get more the past few days, using several different settings and what little I know from reading forums and observing what works and doesn't work in my system. I know the cpu seems to requie less volts than many of you. I spent several weeks testing different bios settings with th hsf, and hit the wall at 4.3g. Frankly, all I know to do is guess and keep trying. Windows 7 doesnt seem to like bios crashes, and I have had to do a complete reinstall from my server several times. If anyone has advise or could point me to a thread that tell the relationship between settings and how to intelligebtly overclock it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
I need some input from the ud3p v1.6 users. I have another ud3p comin in tomorrow from the egg, i assume it'll be a 1.6. Anybody know what the difference is between the different revision boards? Something would have to be way different for the 1.6 to use a different bios right?
I ordered the OCZ Blade PC2-9200 Low Voltage (1.8v) 2x2GB kit, overclocks feel more solid now.
4312MHz (1.344v CPUz, 1.381v BIOS), Mem 1150MHz 5-5-5-18 (1.82v BIOS), FSB=1.32v, NB=1.34v was np for the 3DM06 run I just did. Must say that the single most important setting IMO is the MCH Reference, I've had "so-so" success with it at auto, but with new kit I again tested 67% of VTT...the higher the OC, the sooner I got errors with MCH Ref @ auto or 63%. For the 4.3GHz run I set MCH Ref 69%, CPU Ref 67%. No more BSODs with high MCH Ref value either, only errors in P95 :D
I have a cooling tip for UD3P Northbridge (after you've removed the blue shielding cover)
A Scythe Mini-Kaze 60mm (60x60x20mm), 20db, 2500rpm, 48grams, 21m3h, comes with 2pin->3pin adapter, 4x 25-30mm long screws that perfectly fit the UD3P NB heatsink fins. I had NO problems fitting the Mini-Kaze 60mm over my NB(used 2 screws, fan "diagonal"), I've got a TRUE Black with 120mm blowing upwards, the fit is perfect.
Worked fine mate but F10e just keep comming back so i let it and i made my best 4905 Mhz validation in it so its not bad lol
aahhh and i saw you where told use 50ps on skews, its not mandatory mate if you wanna boot at high OC you will need 1000/1000/0/0 and high MCH, for lower OC you can use 800/800/0/50 or 900/900/0/50, just keep trying.
Best of luck to ya
Cheers mate
