NaeKuh, are those 3 DDC's in your loop? I knew you were DDC crazy, but that crazy ?
Also, where are the zipties :mad:?
Edit: NVM, after taking a better look I noticed the 12 bright orange zipties
oh, they can operate without any failures if you follow last part of the installation directions:
After tightening the mounting screws and filling the system, sacrifice a small mammal or your first born child to the ancient god Baal to ensure you will have no leaks. If you choose to sacrifice a kitten you will be blessed with 10 C lower temps on average.
a moment of silence for the cat...............thats enough , rezoom the noise
aww not the kitty :3
Anybody got any more news about the XSPC D5 bayres?
I think after the T3's disaster a lot of people are reluctant to try out another D5 pump/bayres. I haven't heard anything about it and I don't even know how many people here have it.
i guess there was a good reason to be happy about running over that dead animal on the street, well other than knowing if it was still alive, the doc at the animal hospital would have tried to save it, and id have to take care of another animal with disabilities. who thought it would make my system leek free? and years after the fact too
Geez, why do you guys run threads into the ground like this? LOL!
@DarthBeavis, sir you were right. I installed both my Typhoon III's , was about to fill both loops when I noticed cracks aroung the front fill caps. I pulled out both reservoirs and there they were, along with two more cracks in the back plug's. I pulled the pumps out and one pump mount had a nice big crack. Only use was for one hour testing a week ago and they sat since then and developed the cracks.

:(
I would never trust any T-3.
You never know what will happen, or when.
I don't care anymore, got burned, moving on.
Looks like they discontinued making them in May due to issues.
Are other primochill reservoirs reliable?
And why has my acrylic swiftech reservoir been running for 3 years + with no issues using ethylene glycol?
I can't blame you - the arclyic turned out to be :banana::banana::banana:, but like the phoenix, I'm hoping the delrin version rises out of the flames.
I'm supposed to have one shortly, so we'll see how that goes shortly. While I can't help but be optimistic as hell, I hope it doesn't turn out to be a 'I told you so party'.
I've always wondered why pretty much all these 'enthusiast' water cooling places use things like thin acetate; Plexiglas or whatnot. When there is perfectly good clear schedule 80 PVC pipe available that will take a thread and is, heaven forbid, DESIGNED to hold liquids (both simple like water as well as caustic ones). And the cost is cheap, just takes the jig to drill the holes.
Or this stuff;)
Also the more POM parts I get the more I like the stuff, it's apparently a musical material as well. Currently used in the manufacture of Flutes, and Bag Pipes and the like.
Very interesting:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyoxymethylene_plastic
I use to like the colorful acrylic designed products. I'm all about copper/nickel and black now. No more acrylic, or any blow-mold plastic parts for me ever again. :yepp:
LOL.... Just to reinforce the arcylic vs delrin / polycarbonate:
Arcylic skylight vs hammer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24sf4...eature=related
Delrin skylight vs hammer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ8G0...eature=related
I'm curious if anyone has an answer as to why anyone would even use arcylic today, because there are a number of companies still doing this.
I like this vid about polycarbonate's durability more
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qc2K0...eature=related
And even though those videos look interesting, they are actually not relavent. The primary function is to hold liquid here with a various level of low caustic properties; in a ph range of say 5 - 11; does not lower structural integrity with alcohols (methanol; glycol; isopropyl et al); viscosity increaser (oils; long-chain polymers) and various oxidation/reduction inhibitors (sulfite's et al); plus anti bacterial agents (silver/copper but there are many others); and a PSI range of say <50PSI.
What I find strange is that all of these 'obstacles' have been solved in labs and process industries for ages. Granted the added idea of 'being clear to see what's going on' is relatively new but there was this cool thing called GLASS that did a wonderful job over the years. ;)
I don't know. I suppose it's possible to confuse the two:

and
http://www.thechaingang.com/images/n...ubes-large.JPG
especially around here. :p:
Uhm...
Lol, I'm going to leave this thread now before it gets any weirder . Though I have to say that looks like a nice piece of glass :rotf:.
:ROTF: Thanks DB, we need too have fun here.
I like a nice piece of glass.
Hey Darth, we can't seem to make contact with Primochill. You mentioned in another post that you had a contact. Would you by any chance still have that contact? Were trying to get our money back for the re-call. Any help would be much appreciated.
One thing I do have to add about cutting poly and cutting acrylic with a laser. With acrylic fumes it's not too bad, but inhaling small amounts of vaporized poly and it can kill you. Mus tbe why they still use acrylic.
I don't think it was a recall. I think it's more of a ":banana::banana::banana::banana: you"
They had to cut their losses at some point. A bad design is a bad design.
DTR, you ever get that delrin replacement?
EDIT: I had decent luck on the phone with them a couple times. Ask for Brian.
Even my deep well of patience is beginning to run dry. Although I 'feel' like I'm getting good communication, I also feel like there is always seems to be "another" delay. Perhaps that's just life.
I was under the impression it would be the beginning of Aug, now something else and the date is like the middle of Aug....so I won't be surprised if on the 15th I get another update saying blah blah blah - now Sept.
So I will keep my piehole quiet regarding delivery until I actually have it.
Voyeur Mods all over again?
I'm just curious where you heard of a delrin version being made?
I haven't seen anything about that since boxgods and primochill feel out of their relationship, and he left with his design.
I have an original T3 in my rig, and it's got stress cracks, but no leaks yet. And my whole PC is built around that res... so I need a replacement, and want a delrin version badly... don't care who makes it.
edit: i found a link to where that delrin rumor came from: http://forum.ncixus.com/forums/index...&overclockid=0
If any of you guys that make custom blocks and stuff want to make me a delrin version, i'll buy one :)
speak of the devil, i see a few cracks in my t3, but i think they're all on the pump mount part so its not that bad, i can replace that pretty easy if needed.
uppon further review, nope the crack goes beyond the bracket.
the time bomb is armed. i repeat the time bomb is armed.
why am i happy?
Well, I'd say its a little more that a rumor since they 'officially' state so...but it remains to be seen. With companies like Palit purposely missleading people (sending better gear to review sites and shipping lesser goods http://www.guru3d.com/news/palit-gef...-have-issues-/) you can't trust anyone further that you can see it and touch it - and still maybe not even then :shakes:
So I never got to OC my Q9550 rig for lack of the Res, and already upgrading to a I7 930 - and I still don't have cooling...I would never have thought this possible.
Today, after being in use for 1 year I found out my T3 is leaking.... Its 1 from the first batch that was sold...
It was bought 13 months ago... would there still be any warranty on the res or should I just toss it in the thrash and never look back??
Anyone know whats up with primochills site?
it's been in maintenance for like the last month I think.
I've had the T3 rev 2 for a few months now, using Swiftech 655 pump. Originally I started with 1 radiator and CPU block then 2 months ago I did a semi-rebuild to include second radiator and 2x GTX 470 water blocks. The only thing inside that are distilled water (half gallon total) and a few drops of PT Nuke.
All a single loop not dual loop even though the reservoir supported it directly. From what I read, there were little difference anyway between single and split loops.
The case it's mounted inside is Lian Li K62 (actually under Lancool name) and the way the drive mount are, the drive are on tabs on the side that allowed a bit of side to side movement. The bay is not touching anything above or below. All screws and fittings on the reservoir are hand tightened, no more than 1/4 turn after it becomes hard to tighten. No wrenches, no hammer, no ratchet, nothing but fingers and included allen tool.
I have not seen any sign of crack at this time.
Heat Killer 3.0 block for AMD
2x EK FTX-470 blocks
2x Swiftech 320 QP
Swiftech MCP-655 (non variable)
Primochill green tube
EDIT: would help to mention temp too if anyone were interested. GTX 470 didn't go past 45C and CPU (overclocked to 4GHz) didn't go past 40C. A far cry from stock GTX 470 cooler that used to hit 99C and cheap looking AMD cooler that allowed 55C to 60C on stock speed (yikes) and could never handle overclocking.
Mine has been working flawlessly for 4 months now.
And something very special is coming from primochill soon........
I dont even have the words......
No. There is a very good chance that it will not be cracked on delivery. And you could spend a couple of months running it on a test bench with clean distilled just like I did and still have no cracks. In fact, thoses odds are really high. Very few people got a DOA T3. But if you read this whole thread you will see that the odds are high that it will crack eral soon after installing it in a bay or when given enough time. More and more original first runners are keep talking about how theirs just started leaking. So do what I did and place it on a shelf to remind you about the old phrase of "buyer beware". Runaway, screaming if you see one in the wild as they are very sneaky little boxes that will suck your wallet dry.
I got 2 brand new ones sitting on my bench in my garage. After having 2 different ones crack on me im not risking it again. I'll just wait for the new one coming out from a different manufacture here soon that I've heard about.
my res cracked and leaked. It wasn't even mounted to the case. It sat on the base of the case attached by velcro. It really sucks, because it was pretty much perfect other than sucking bubbles into the pump
Mhmm .. interesting, interesting. If it's posted in this thread, then most probably it's bayres-pumptop for D5. I wonder how it will differ from XSPC one. Maybe even will feature possibility of dual D5 mount?
BTW, i wonder why noone thought of/never implemented resless D5 pumptop with idea/performance of T3? As in - semiparalleled loops from one pump resulting in even better total flow/results/performance then that of existing regular D5 tops?
Its nice to see new activity from DD. Seems that the past year or two they have kinda coasted a bit. I might have to try out another new res. ^_^
I have renders and a real pic of the first sample unit of the res with D5. Good stuff.
teaser:
Heard there have been some major changes and the coolest features are hidden (not seen in this rendering) will available in red, blue, black, and silver/gray, might get pictures of the first one in a few days. Danger Den is getting ready to roll some stuff out and has listened to feedback from the community.
http://a.imageshack.us/img707/5988/reservoirbodies.jpg
keep tuned ;)
Such a tease DB. :D
Me and my computer are more than willing to be test subjects ;)
Am i right that biggest one takes up five 5.25 bays?
The dual one in the middle gives me a hard on.
Also i guess the "coolest features" are in front (not shown indeed)..
I already like what i am seeing, seems like they integrated every feature everyone has been dreaming about.
Yay for slots between each bay.
From what it seems, they all seem to have the same top, with several openings, suggesting a possibility for attachable reservoirs. And 5 5.25" bays, dang !
Solid delrin.... Looks expensive.
It is about time for DD to do it again though. The new REIII block isn't it.
EDIT: thanks for the leak... you should leak some more info ;)
Thanks for the renders!
I can't wait to rid myself of that piece of junk T3, even if it costs me buying an new item to replace and tossing the old one in the garbage.
Why not toss it in the garbage already? Or better yet, grab a gun and blast it to smithereens whilst filming, so we can all enjoy the destruction :D.
I see DD have not listened to my only criticism of the T3's basic design (materials withstanding): frakin' vibration-proof mounts, Batman. Seriously, bay-mount threads suspended in soft rubber would put these things over the top.
DarthBeavis: btw, no even very aproximate ETA for release or it's under NDA aswell?
Hey Darth, I just wanted to know if they've also taken into consideration that certain cases, specfically the 800D, the little flanges that hold the bay devices is actually longer then standard cases such as my ATCS840. Therefore, I had to sand down the flanges to fit my current XSPC dual 3.25 res top/bay combo but it was a real :banana::banana::banana::banana: to do so. Just wondering if they've taken a case like that into consideration or else it's back to my dremel :(
Great to see new stuff!!! More pictures please!!! ETA? Price?
I had to dremel out the bay flanges on my case too... The only way to get my T3 to fit. For now I got an XSPC one in there but anxiously awaiting the DD one !
Man I can't WAIT, I almost got a New res just the other day. I'm starting to see a small crack in my new res. I just bent my flanges up ward and my T3 fit, but I wish I never had to do that to my new case to begin with.
Thanks for the info DB and I don't care what they cost right now, I just want something that will not kill me new build PERIOD.
here are a couple shots of the mounting hardware

Looks awesome. I want to buy one now! lol
Look great.
When will DD start taking orders?
And will they ship to UK?
Woah, they look sexy. Hope that DD can/will get them to a few reviewers asap so we can see what the performance is like :D
These are shop 'beater' models so they might have a few dings
http://dangerden.smugmug.com/gallery...80657558_JDjoq
rubber washers are interesting, but are they enough to effectively kill vibration from a D5?
Eh. I'm enjoying my nearly-silent ATCS system too much to care ATM. If I could just solve my fan splitter issue...
Can't wait to see the dual DDC model.
reservoir / rubber pad / mounting cage / rubber pad / load spreader / screws
Just like your typical engine mounts...not sure there is a path as the cage is in compression. If there was a pad on only one side or the other then yes I could see it. The pads are also over sized on both sides compared to a normal washer. The absolute would be the bungi style where a rubber pad/strap is mounted to the cage, then free spans a certain distance and the other end is hard mounted to the reservoir but that is pretty impractical in the space constraints and with both mounting surfaces parallel.
The big factor will be the composition of the rubber...too hard, not much dampening obviously, and too soft, not much compression. I agree that the delrin goes a long way towards making it a mute point anyway.
Will include pads in .5mm - 1mm - 2mm for custom configs.
I like what I see in these new ones.
One thing that makes me wonder is the lack of mounting screws in the front of the reservoirs. I have a XSPC bay reservoir now and like these it can only be screwed to the 5.25 at one place which makes it a little wiggly.
Even a DVD station has holes in both the front and the back of both sides to make it sturdier and that doesn't have a vibrating pump attached to it.
Maybe it wont have any effect on this reservoir, just something that came to mind.
Other than that looks very nice and well planned!
8 screws - 4 per side - for the dual bay pumped versions. The issue is the depth of the pumps. If you add another 50-60 mm to catch the back row of screws that puts the pumps out into the component area and you risk them blocking the longer video cards that are popular now.
Even if you manage to clear everything it puts tubing in a congested area with not a lot of room for bends etc... and these are already a giant chunk of delrin--60 mm more in depth would price them out of reach.
Provided the case itself is not a cheap/wobbly unit 8 screws is/are plenty. I do agree the ones with only 2 screws per side are pushing it though.
Any chance there is a dual bay dual d5 version? I know chances are real slim of this happening, but i can dream cant i? :D
Would love a dual pump version, but dont have space for the 5x 5 1/4 version sadly.
Cant wait to get my hands on some of these. They look amazing and will fit in perfectly with my new build
Also, any chance of getting a hole put in the cover so that we can still adjust the speed of the pumps?
Cheers
Whoa man... from the abyss you return.
Is this one of yours?
Also, I may be misinterpreting the pictures, but it looks to me like there is a fastener which goes from case to delrin/rigid structure. If this is the case, then it's a damper, not an isolator. Again, I only see what's in the picture.
I only smell abysmal =) And no I am not here and you don't see me. :D
Yeah, the image IS a tad misleading. (read mostly worthless)
http://dangerden.smugmug.com/Reservo...zyBmt-XL-1.jpg
http://dangerden.smugmug.com/Reservo...0_kqR8a-XL.jpg
Those make it a bit clearer I think. I get what you were saying, if the load spreader were just mounted directly to the reservoir, or was actually a part of it then yeah, obviously that would be beyond worthless. It is hard to see from those angles, but if you look closely you can see the extra width on the face plate vs the reservoir body width. That is because the body has been narrowed about a mm (roughly 1/16") on each side compared to an optical drive so that there is free space for the first rubber pad.
On an unrelated note...is there a more perfect name for the engie then "Mean Moe"?
Aw... I'd want something completely clear :-(
yeah, just trying not to hijack "anyone's" thread and DD prefers that their trained customer service people answer product questions. Just hard not to look, and for me, even harder not to answer questions--time to delete the thread linky I guess as my willpower sucks--a lot of you have my email just hit me there or a PM if you have a question.
I would suggest Absolut...Grey Goose...Patron Silver label....even that cheap stuff in the cardboard box with the handle...
+1
Vibration isolation (like a car engine) is usually done with 2 distinct mounting points (1 on the the object creating the vibrations [engine] and the other to the frame work holding it [car frame]) with a whole lot of rubber in between them.
The mounting method on these res's uses only 1 mounting point (screw goes through frame work into res) with some material in between the mounting points to dampen (lessen) the vibrations.
Also, in DB's pics, I noticed the face plates in one pic and couldn't help but notice that at least 1 of them looked awful similar to that "other company" ;) that sells (sold?) the single bay res. . .aren't they going to get their panties in a bunch over that?
Hello BG I love your new designs.
No offense but which design would be the closest to the T3 as I loved the design of it.
And will the new design have different fronts?
Good to have you back.
