Neither, because Apple are the devil. I'd personally look at some other brands (Samsung, Sony, iRiver, Creative Zen, etc), which usually offer better value/quality/sound/storage than equivalent Apple products simply because they don't have that damn Apple logo. Plus you don't need to use iTunes, which I find to be one of the worst media players in the history of mankind.
Think I'll be able to fit an mATX i7 board, i920, MCR220, 2x HD4870 1GB's, a Xonar DX, 2 HDDs and a DVD drive into a Lian Li PC-V350?

I don't have enough clearance for any GPUs longer than about 9.6" (ie can't over-hand the motherboard). And only some of the HD4870's will fit (ones by Palit and Gainward that have power connectors on the top). But yes, thread with tonnes of pictures will be made when I actually do it. Not sure about the switch, if somebody needs one then they'll buy it, if nobody does, nobody will. And about the 4850, that's around half of what you pay here in Switzerland, that's a good price.

For ultimate top-end, I believe it's still the top (if you don't count coolers that are too big to fit in... well ANY case like that Scythe monster). When value comes even remotely required, Xigmatek HDT-S1283/S1284EE perform almost as well at half the price (and includes a fan).
Think the next generation of GPUs will give something with the power of an HD4850 X2 or HD4870 X2 on a card about the size of an HD4870 (ie 9.6" long)?
