On P45 (not a DFI) you will need around 540 FSB to break 11K read without using a high CPU clock to 'cheat'.
You can see in the SS below I am close to 11K at 533 FSB, but to get the FSB any higher I had to back off some chipset settings so I lost some efficiency, which means I had to go up to 540 FSB (shown on second SS) to break 11K.
http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/w...edCTstrong.jpg
Here is a run that is the lowest settings I can use to break 11K read. I use a low CPU clock of 3.78GHz so it just shows the raw power of the FSB and ram speed.
http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/w...MHz11Kread.jpg
i'll try your same settings cryptic, just to verify if it's true that m2f sux at speed against ud3r p45. i've heard about it but i never verified :)
the new ep45 extreme is here :D
go for extreme oc man, i'm waiting screens...will it be pwnage? :D
this afternoon i tried the crucial ballistix of my friend Guglio on my new ep45 extreme. :yepp:
this ram is spectacular...

well done
but...no more than 1400 cas5? do you try 2.5+v? :D
@Mafio good start.....now overclock the ram :)
This is my new Patriot kit on 2.06V real:
Pulled these from and old HP Media Center PC. Loving them allready. I know they will go higher but I cant seem to get my DFI BloodIron P35 board to do it.It craps out past 1150 dual channel. I must not being doing something right.
DDR2 1100 Cas5 @ 2.0v
JEDEC PCB probably holding you back.
I dont think its that because I have a pair of OCZ Reaper 1150s that will do 1150 single channel but not dual channel. I think its the auto timings the board giving it but im not sure what sub timings to change to give stability. Or I'm just bad with ram lol.
I've run some D9's up to 1350 CAS 5 in dual channel on Blood Iron, for what its worth.
Ballistix Tracers, double sided. 2.35v 1300Mhz. I believe this pair is GKX, but I'm not sure. The don't like T1 and cas 3, but they scream with cas 4 and 5. ICs just say 'Ballistix' and '-f17' Not totaly stable at 1300. Can run SuperPi and other benchies but crap in RL gaming.

guys, this mobo kick ass :yepp:
great job mafio.
Plucked in Team PC2-10400 CAS6 Micron D9 memory for some max validation and pulled off my own personal best at 706Mhz 5-5-5-15 at 2.49v bios set vdimm dual channel :D

Eva you keep defying the common logic that says D9GKX doesn't play nice with the DFI P35...
Don't those modules come in D9GMH flavours as well? I'm pretty sure I heard that but don't quote me on it.
The DDR2 RAM lists says the PC2-10400 has GKX and GMH.
http://ramlist.i4memory.com/ddr2/
Guys, anyone has "Red Devil" 9200 CellShocks?
You do :p: And supershanks over at Clunk.org has a pair. I missed out on a kit that showed up within the past couple of weeks on eBay because I didn't go for the Buy it Now price and ended up getting outbid
Nice work eva :)

I have alot of D9GMH and these Team 1300 i have behave more like D9GMH I have so probably not D9GKX but can't confirm as i like the heatspreaders as they are :)
thanks.. not bad yourself :)
maybe time to switch to updated Everest Ultimate 5.xx ?
for sure. no words. congrats ;)Quote:
guys, this mobo kick ass
i need a little information
which of these kit, if so, have micron D9xxx chip?
patriot viper pc9600 nvidia series
patriot viper pc9200
patriot blade pc9600
patriot blade pc9200

Should help you out and a nice future reference.
Can you guys see what the minimum settings (FSB & Ram MHz) are that allow you to break 11K read in everest? Keep CPU speed under 3.8 - 4.0GHz as a higher CPU clock boosts the read score.
You can see in my previous post (here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=1502) I did it at 540 FSB & 648 MHz at PL8 on a P45 (M2F) with a CPU clock of 3.78GHz. It would be interesting to compare performance of various boards.
It would also be interesting to use my exact same settings on different boards and see how they compare.
None of those kits are listed though.
patriot viper pc9600 nvidia series
Newer product, so I seriously doubt it.
patriot viper pc9200
Someone on the forums bought this kit and said the ICs didn't look like Micron (they had "feet" on them like PSC).
patriot blade pc9600
Those are supposed to be D9GMH.
patriot blade pc9200
I had a kit of these, they weren't Micron. Took them back to Frys.
MemoryC's D9 kits have gone down to some nice prices: http://www.memoryc.com/computermemor...price&dir=desc
I remember when the Team 1300 and 1200 were over $200 (like when I bought mine ).
thanks gen-an, you're really a ram-master :D
and how about these:
PC2 9600 Reaper
PN: OCZ2RPR1200GK
SN: 008890807000416-1
dont touch newer patriot stuff you wont find no d9 in them
and what about kingston hyperX 2x1gb pc8500? are they D9? even if i buy a new kit?
Dude, just stick to Team Xtreem. Only confirmed D9 stuff that still seems to be in production.

very well done mate! congrats! and nice voltage ;)
@gen-an: ok....finally i'll go for tg :)
I love the Gigabyte Extreme when it comes to memory-oc=)
Nice results Mafio:clap:
I don't know how they did it, but MemoryC managed to stock one kit each of Cellshock 8000 C5 (GKX) and 8500 C5 (GMH). Prices are almost too low for em too. Oh well, I have a set of the G.Skill 8000 HZs on the way.
Got my G.Skill kit in the other day. Haven't had much luck with them on the DFI X48, gonna try the UD3P.

nice photos Shiranui-Gen-An.those cellshocks didnt last long at memoryc.i couldnt believe the price for the one kit 37$.
Looking forward to see what you can get out of the HZ-set, Shiranui-Gen-An:D
I pushed my begrudging board a couple of MHz higher than my previous everest max speed of 660 MHz, to 667.5 MHz using my TG 8500's.
http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/w...est6675MHz.jpg
Getting better, managed 672 MHz CL5. ignore the bench results its at low FSB and PL 10.
http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/w...672MHz240v.jpg
What do you think about this result http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=530225 ?
M2F isnt the best dual channel extreme ram mobo.
and btw i was using PL6
Iha - really nice work there, care to share your settings and BIOS version? 1:2 divider doesn't play nice on my board it wont even POST, I'll try flashing to another BIOS and seeing if it works.
For 672 MHz I used:
1.35 vNB
2.40 vdimm
NB DDR Ref +37.5mv
DDR2 CHA/CHB Ref +12.5mv
PL10
5:8 divider
Hey
I have the chance to buy some Crucial Ballistix Tracer D9 1bg modules,
2 for £25,
Good deal?
Also thinking of getting the HZ kit available here, 45$ shipped....... (just over £30)
Is either better theoretically? (neither have been really pushed)
The HZ the guy had them at 860 CAS4 2.1v
Crucial was at 1111 Cas5 2.1v I think
Thanks
I took hell of lot all volts @ bios :D
1.43 vNB
3.2 vdimm
PL6
1:2 divider
BIOS version i think is 0901
Gonna do >700 mhz 4-4-4-4 some day :D
3.2v was that on dry ice or air? 5-4-4-4 is still great for 700 MHz.
I'm sitting here with ~1KG of dry ice and I cant use it as I have no insulation materials other than paper towel. I was trying to make a ghetto pot but I cant see it working without massive condensation issues and I don't want to risk killing the board.
3.2 on air is pretty crazy stuff, lucky your sticks are still alive heh.
I swapped to BIOS 1901 and 1:2 is working now. I took the cpuz SS then tried to run everest and it crashed unfortunately.
678 MHz CL5 @ 2.45v
http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/w...678mhz245v.jpg
Yeah, I wouldn't bet on the Firestix: http://www.biwa.ne.jp/~yok/FIRESTIX1...ESTIX1066.html
Actually, thats not quite true. The M2F just has a limited amount of modules it will work with, but the modules it will work with work across all DIMM banks, thats the sacrafice made, less modules compatible with the board in trade for the modules that are compatible working across all DIMM banks.
I wouldnt call 1400MHz a bad result out of DDR2 :p:
not so bad for an old DFI P35 UT with only 2.55 (real was around 2.52/2.53) of vdimm. :D

Nicely done Mafio, you should try get us some bandwidth numbers at that speed. :)

i've forgot the s-pi 1M screen:
http://forum.hwproject.net/imagehost...68d1a05eb5.jpg
subtimings on auto. and the gigabyte ud3r doesn't like low PL...it's a bug of the board...with reasonable voltage i have to set PL8 to boot over 400mhz fsb :(
My Crucial 10thAE: http://kean.sg-net.eu/OC/ae_600_4444_pl5.PNG
I know this results sucks but it was done along time ago on early MSI BIOS.
nice PL5...if you still have the board, go for bios update :D
well i got me another set of team group pc 10400's from memoryc.i knew it was a mistake to sell my first kit.they are just too good not to have.
LOL. i think so ;)
yep, thats why i got them.trying to sell my Q9650 and 2x2GB g.skill9600's so i can get a dual core for some high fsb d9 OC's with this board.much more fun to be had
