*********I was going over the above and was thinking of what I was using. Don't do that. For 1.34vtt try cpu ref of .903 or up a notch. Then your mch ref seems high already. Try .808 You may need more mch core like I mentioned due to ram. Which brings me to here. You won't be able to boot with 333, 2.0 with 5/5/5/15. You will need 4/4/4/12. Also 400 will be best start.

Im booting with the setting I listed.

I will try your reccomendations for ref now, then try mem at 4/4/4/12, but dont think it will run that fast. Will also try 400 (d), but only have 1066 so will have to run it at 800- it wont go much over 1130 so 1200 is out with these muskins...

realize im too hot, will do water when i can afford- other than stress testing it doesnt run that hot. gaming it only runs 62-65nb and 60-61 cpu, but 4870 luv the air and runs at 60 maxed out so im good there

I figured I would play with the xeon some tonight. I had a 9.298 but got greedy and lost it :mad:, im still playing with it so maybe ill get it again or just try for higher.

How does it compare to the Q9650 at 5Ghz?

You should get below 9.2s on the X3380 I got that with my Q9650 with slower speeds (4900Mhz):

Got it back. Yea it should be able to go lower but im currently using my everyday untweaked win7. Do you have any OS tweaks you want to share? :up:

Nice to see Jor3lBR posting a 1M run on XP. I was working on beating his Vista time but even my best was .010 seconds slower.

Only two Pi 1M tweaks I can think of that make major differences are use Windows XP and F4-4 BIOS if you are using the EP45-UD3P.

How big of a difference with F4-4?

The only thing I can think of was the XP (better then my W7 run) I didn't do anything different. Same config but with fresh XP install and defraged.

I didn't do a very good comparision but it seemed to be a little better than .1 seconds. Vista to XP is a very nice gain.

Tried another 30+ combinations, now at the following:

higher cpu ref seems to help to a point, and lower mch ref does too. tried 1.28-1.36 term, 1.32 seems most stable of all


not the fastest super p'is, but at least passes one round of intel burn.

suggestions?

With a DUO or Quad? If you want a Quad I just posted one on the other page 9.21s...

If you have your quad in can you run another? Are they that much faster than duo's? I can get 9.234 but it is not very close to 4900.

for superpi there is no speed difference between quads and duos

Jor3lBR's 4.9Ghz just uses incrediblely tight timings from the looks of it.

Using the F4-4 BIOS I had the time down to 9.329 at 1Mhz FSB lower.

You guys have some really nice chips :slobber: and those Super Pi runs are awesome :clap:, I get somewhat envious cause my chip do only ~4,7GHz :( and 1M @ 9,750.

If that board is like the P 1.32 vtt will not set, its either 1.30 or 1.34. If you select 1.32 in bios then in windows pull up ET6 it comes up 1.30. If you try to set 1.32 in ET6 it will still drop down to 1.30.

Chill hank123, just because he didn´t answer your PM don´t make him a bad guy, maybe he´s occupied by a lot of work or are on a holiday or maybe he has a policy to never answer on PM, just answer questions in threads, maybe we never gonna know but either way, in my opinion we have to respect what ever.

:D Nobody said it would be easy. Sometimes is just a combination of MHZ and Timings that the hardware will shine, that's when less is more on those benches. But there is no manual in how to achieve that, only sweating.

Well I ca't run the Q9650 right now, my UD3P is on RMA so it has to wait. Summer ruined my Cryo-Z runs :-( Too much humidity.

I run other SuperPi's back then an always close to 9.2. Now I want to get 9.1! :up: Maybe with the Extreme, this board is better the UD3P especially on 32m runs my best on UD3P was 9m.50s and Extreme did it in 9m.35s...

Try experimenting with the different Luna themes. The silver was the best one for me.
