That is some nice low volts. Did you get one or two pairs?
Anyone using F9L Bios, do you know what they added? I can't find anything about it :X
Ok, I'm trying to go for 4500 mhz on my E8400 E0, but having a little trouble...
Here's my template
Been trying 1.392v - 1.425v, but small FFT still fails after 30 seconds, I don't really want to go any higher than that, ive tried CPU reference tweaking but it's done nothing, but haven't messed with MCH reference. I did try putting 50ps on CPU clock skew but didn't really see a change. Can anyone lead me in the right direction to what I should do next?Code:Robust Graphics Booster ..............: [Auto]

Are you at 200B or 200D? If you have it set to B try 200D pl9. You may also want to try setting the drive strength profile to OC 1066 if 200d doesn't work.
I'm at 200B, and I think I got at 1.424v, I just needed to add another notch to bump it from 1.408, I didn't realize I needed 3 notches (from 2). However I just got an error after 10 minutes. Temps are 57C small FFT after 10 minutes in 17C ambient (Air conditioner). By the way, are these temps safe? I'm going to a lan party in a few weeks where it might be a lot hotter, and I don't know if low 60s are safe or not. Also I will try 200D and see what it does. Thanks
Guys for those using the LV Blades PC29600, do you think that 8GB will run at 1200 on my Q9650 wich im on 4500Mhz for 24/7 ?
now in running the gskills 9600 at 4500 / 1200
Cheers
Sergio
Damn, it didn't work. 200D failed faster than B, and I even tried different PL and drive strength. I had to bump voltage to 1.440v to get it stable. The VID on this chip is 1.25 though. I have to say I am kind of disappointed that I can't get under 1.4, especially since it's an E0. At least my temps are good. Maybe I will try some clock skews later as a last resort.
Hey guys,
Inspired by thebluemeanie1 I decided to go for the 7 Gold Cups available for Q9650 hardware: CPU-Z, PiFast, SuperPi, SuperPi32m, wPrime32m, wPrime1024m and PCMark05. I got 6 out of 7 so I think it's an interesting read for Gigabyte EP45-UD3P owners:
Q9650 - 6 Gold Cups in one Day (conquering the HWBot HOF)
Dark Energy,57c is fine in Prime. Actually that's pretty good for 1.424v. My e8400 needs close to 1.5v for 4.5ghz.
Very nice Jor3lBr , miss seeing your posts in this thread.
Nice work! But you might want to work on that 32m wprime.

Some test with Q9550 :)

So as long as it stays in the low to mid 60's C in stress testing, then volts don't matter or won't hurt it? I have an E8500 E0 VID 1.250 that seems to want above 1.45 (BIOS) to get 8.5 or 9 x 500fsb stable. I haven't tried any higher to get it to work cause I'm afraid of the volts killing my CPU.
So I want to know if it's the volts or the heat? If I keep heat under control, do the volts even matter?
bluestang, keep heat under control and your processor will be alive :)
Thanks Loco, I'm waiting on some OCZ Freeze to come in. I will then replace my AC Ceramique with that and also replace the stock fan on my Zerotherm Zen FZ120 with a Scythe S-Flex SFF21G to see what happens with temps.
After that, maybe a Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultima watercooling kit that Leeghoofd has in his sig.
Question. Is 1.440v safe on me E8400 E0 for 24/7? The VID on this chip is pretty bad (1.25v), and small FFT temps went to 62C with ambient 19c (64c for both cores in realtemp). I got it for xmas back in december and the packing date is september 2008. I guess I got one of the first batches of the E0, cause from what I have seen on this forum everyone who is running 9 x 500 with less than 1.4 has a newer chip (packed after december). Guess my chip isn't the best?
Stick a TrUE on there Dark-Energy, I replaced my AC7 Pro with one and was amazed at the drop in temps...
I don't know about the volts long term. I think 1.3625v is still the max according to Intel. I have heard some say 1.45v on the EO's. IDK but I wanted a 4.4-4.5ghz chip so if it has a short life I'm ok with it. As long as my temps are good its staying where it is.
If you are still using the settings you posted on the previous page, one glaring problem is your tRfc set to 45. G Skill states it must be at 52. I am running at 48, but tweaked it down to that after getting stable with 54.
Set your Static T Read manually to 11 or higher to get stable.
You should try a lower CPU Ref, not higher.
Bump your MCH Core to 1.4.
Set MCH/DRAM Ref, DRAM Termination, Channel A & B Ref to 50% of DRAM Voltage.
Have you tried stability testing with the CPU Multi at 8? If you have not, you are going about this all wrong. You need to test components, not just throw everything up and blast volts to your CPU.
My chip is a vid 1.25v, maybe something on here can help.

1.3625v - maximum VID for the E8190-E8600 processors. Maximum core and FSB Termination voltage is 1.45V. This is from Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E8000¹ and E7000¹ Series Datasheet.
I used my Q9450 about 4 months at 1.525V, he's still alive :)
Keep temps below 80 or even below 75C.
