Thanks. :)
Here is a screen of the new version:

CPU-Tweaker14b9
...probably spd speed info will change in the finale version; something like "PC3-10600 (666 mhz)@9-9-9-27-1N".
Hi Felix,
I just tried beta9 on the P55A-UD7 (win7 x86 and i5-660). It says "NOT FOR THIS SYSTEM". Beta6 does seem to work (apart from not reading the correct latency set, same with cpu-z) but gives some warning messages that doesn't go away even if you tick on the remember box.
Beta9 does work on my BloodRage (Vista x64 and i7-940)...
Cheers....
MaxXx
...could you try to re-download the version and tell me the result.
(link was changed a few hours after first update)
Otherwize, send a cpu-z registers dump at memset@hotmail.fr
Thank.
Felix, thanks, the new link works, but it still detects the wrong CL as what is set the bios. I have set 7-8-7-20 in the BIOS. Seem to happen when I increase the base clock. On default bclock amd multiplier, it detects the memory timings properly. CPU-Z also behaves the same but its detection is way over. And the cores are missing. Let me know if you still need a CPU-Z dump. Please see below image. Apologies for all the trouble.Quote:

...yes you can send it (I'll try to see if I can fix Core and CL bug).
The best is to send a register dump at default bclock multiplier (when reading CL is OK),
and an other after increasing bclk (when CL is wrong).
Thanks Felix  Sent you 2 files. CPU-Z ain't reading it properly even at stock bclock. Here's what it looks like at stock base clock.Quote:

Hi Felix,
Can you please take a look at the screen capture in this post?
CPU-Z reports same memory clock as FSB, but MemTest readings vary from 200 to 448 according to the user.
=> maxxx: the core multi problem should be solved with this version: CPU-Tweaker 14b9
For CL, I just send you an email...
=>maxxx: I changed reading Cas# in this version: could you check it and tell me the result... thank.
Felix: this one is looking good. Thanks for the great work. Below is a screen cap. I changed some settings and the ram timings to 7-7-7-21 1T in the BIOS.
http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...er14b9_web.jpg
:welcome: Herve
For the Cas Latency it's good for me.
I need to check the others sub timmings for to see if it's right compared with the bios :)

Hi Felix,if possible to incorporate Vdimm in CPU-Tweaker?
This will be very significant information.:yepp:
Thanks for capital letters.
excellent update Felix
CL being reported correctly over here with the P55 Classy at high overclock and 6-7-5 timings...beat every other program to the punch ;)

=>maxxx: thank for your help. :)
=>Aurelien: comment vas? :)
Could you send me a cpuz registers dump of your system, I see that Refresh to Refresh delay is not reported correctly.
=>stasio: all is possible, but I don't know the process for report VDimm... perhaps in a next release.
Thanks to you we have a great utility! :up:Quote:
=>maxxx: thank for your help.
it seems that the last few versions are not on the server any more Felix?!?
...yes, new release: CPU-Tweaker14b10. Only some change in the interface.
I delete the old beta when I launch a new version.
Hi again,
I have a question regarding MemSet, does it is supposed to detect Flex Mode, or is it possible at all?
Hi,
is there a way to control the settings via command line interface, like to set the multi, eist and turbo mode to use them in scripts?
Hi Cumulonimbus, :D
what do you mean, the possibility to add a save function for multiplier, C1E, EIST and turbo?
=> Chike: it seem that it's possible, perhaps in a next version...
Thanks,
Tell me if you need registers dump or anything I'll try to get them.
For some reason main windows has a blank Memory filed too. 2GB memory modules installed in slots 2, 3, and 4.
I will enable/disable Turbo Mode and/or the Multiplier via command line to reduce the power consumtion. :-)
On my w3520@4.2GHz i need ~320W on Multiplier x21. If i reduce the Multiplier to x12, power consumtion droops from 320W to 285W. My Systems runs 24/7 365 Days/year. In the night (an when the PC are not in use) i will reduce the multi with a script via a idle scheduler.
=> Chike: use this version: MemSet41.zip.
=> Cumulonimbus: enable EIST and C1E; if it's works, the best is to have these enabled in your bios.
i think i see what you mean
there was a program that could do that on amd64 and older platform called crystalCPUID
who would control multiplier/vcore according to the CPU's % of utilization, but i guess it's a bit far from this app origin.
I'd love to see some kind of profiles with multi and vcore stored in it, so you can use for example: night mode, full power mode and a 2d mode.
EIST is way too sensible, keeps going up and down and doesn't control vcore when oced
Is there any chance of memset supporting the Poulsbo chipset (Intel SCH US15W). I would really appreciate if the developer did so (would gladly donate to help if this is done). Since the gma 500 graphics uses the system ram, lowering the timings will greatly help the crappy gma 500.
=> Cumulonimbus: don't expect this feature for now, perhaps later.
=> DarthBane: could you make a registers dump (with cpuz->last table->registers.txt)
and send it at memset@hotmail.fr
Yes i got to try this and Thanks for the share.
Here is the 1.4 finale version: CPU-Tweaker 1.4.zip
I would like to add a monitoring panel in the next version...
http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/1238/cpu15b1.png
...but I don't know when I will be able to share a first beta. :)
Thank you very much for the continuous support for the overclocking community FELIX :)
On MSI GD65 with 1.7 bios CPU Tweaker 1.4 doesn't change timings at all. Is there any change to fix it?
Felix, one extra feature would be nice, integrated memtest :)
Hi, on my Sony notebook, which has an Intel i5 M520, CPU-Tweaker says "NOT FOR THIS SYSTEM". Why?
-> bartx: Read post #1184 in this thread.
-> Testa: Could you make a registers dump (with cpuz->last table->registers.txt)
and send it at memset@hotmail.fr thank.
Just wondering if memset will work with a ssd drive I just up-graded my memory from 4 gigs to 4+2 I also up-graded to a ssd drive now when I try to run memset the "apply" are is grayed out, it use to work before I up-grade my memory and ssd drive. This is a great program and I wish it would work again...
-> takovr: I don't understand how a new SSD could lock the mchbar.Have you upgraded your bios?
->Testa: You can send all of it.
No i diden't up-date my bios, the only thing i changed was I installed a new ssd drive and up-graded 4 gigs of ram to 6, i have a 4 gig stick and a 2 gig stick. When i run memset it showes the right timmings 7-7-7-20 but the apply buton is "grayed" out. I use to be able to get 6-6-6-15 for mem overclock, I did notice though when i chage the times to 6-6-6-15 when i
re-boot cpuz tells me my timmings are 10-6-6-15 any reason why the apply button dosen't work ?
Even though I get the message that 'MC_CFG_space Locked' I was always able to change my CPU Multiplier, EIST, Turbo, and C1E.
Since the version of CPU-T where the separate CPU window was eliminated in favor of an all in one window I can no longer change these CPU values.
Any thoughts on this? Seems that being locked doesn't lock everything.
Is there any way to unlock the RAM settings for an AsRock X58 Deluxe and Deluxe3?
anyone home?
=> Testa, streetwolf: I am very busy at the moment, but a revised version will come soon.
=> takovr: Could you make a registers dump (with cpuz->last table->registers.txt)
and send it at memset@hotmail.fr . Thank.
=> cyclone3D: Read post #1184 in this thread.
FELIX, neither cpu tweaker or memset can work on my computer, they only showed the message ‘not for this system’ or ‘not for this cpu’. And my cpu is Athlon X2 QL-64, and the chipset is RS780, can you add the support of my system, thanks.
could you make a registers dump (with cpuz->last table->Save report (.TXT))
and send it at memset@hotmail.fr Thank.
@FELIX:
First of all thanks again for making and developing this fundamental OC tool(s). :bows:
I have a suggestion: if it is now too time consuming and is doesn't require too much changing, it would be nice to have couple of profiles that could be set and loaded when required beside the one for loading at startup.
Thanks for all your work at this it looks like a great tool, I am having some issues and have searched everywhere youtube, tweakers.fr, read the first ten pages of this thread, does the notepad image give us the recommended settings or the current settings ? and I have tried to use them and my machine froze, then, some of the values on my memset 4.1 wont allow me to go under the first value of 9. thanks for all your support

=> streetwolf: use this version: CPU-Tweaker 1.4
=> gbwg: use this version: MemSet 4.1
=> donmarkoni: if you want to save a memory timing profile:
First, Save the profile you want at startup
-> delete the cpu-tweaker icon in the startup folder
-> go in the Windows folder (usually C:\Windows)
-> move the memsave folder in an other folder where you want (name it 5.5.5.15 for example).
-> start cpu-tweaker in this memsave folder for apply the memory timing you has saved.
Not practical, but I can't add this function for now.
But, still only "not for this system" is displayed.
...sorry, re-download the version.
Thanks! Not practical, but useful for sure! :up:Quote:

Hi all, i used memset 4.1 for start OC'ing but i saw this:
http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/8229/stocksystem.jpg
Howcome it shows me ddr2?? I have OCZ PC3-14400 DDR3 (when i click on spd, shows me DDR3 so....?)
Just a Bug? or need to get worried? I have 2x2GB modules set in A2/B2 Rampage Extreme, E8500
Thanks a lot, it can work now. But there may still be a little problem that only the momery on DIMM0 is recognized bit I cann't find another memory.
I finally terminate the CPU-Tweaker monitoring window, composed by:
-graph(s) per core(s) (dependent of your number of cores),
with the core load and its temperature.
-a graph for general CPU usage and average temp.
-a graph with CPU and RAM frequency.
-a graphe with used memory size and pagefile usage.
Also its possible to let CPU-Tweaker in the systray; 2 icones was created,
one with the CPU load, and one with the highest core(s) temperature.
A right click on an icone show a popupmenu, for open cpu-tweaker, monitoring or spd windows.

I tested it on a PhenomII x3 720 too...
It should work on Phenom I&II, Core i3/i5/i7/i9.
Here is the link: CPU-Tweaker1.5 beta2.zip
Let me know if you find bug or problem...
Looks great! Will try it as soon as I get home.
EDIT: I'm home. Here is s.s.
http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/2...cputweaker.jpg
Indicators are left in the middle of graphs at the position where mouse pointer left it and they tend to stay. Bug or intentional?
...intentional, but I can change all. In fact I didn't know if I have to let or delete indicators
when mouse quit the graph. (like Riva Tuner for example).
Also, I don't know what it's better between show average core temp or highest temp of cores...
Highest IMO, definitely. Or make some switch?
...You are right for up and down numbers.
I spoken for the average temp show in the graph "General cpu usage and average temp".
Actually, it show the 4 cores temp /4, but it's possible to show the highest temp of
the fours cores (The systray icon show this highest temp).
Perhaps a switch, as suggested by zalbard.
Good Day. I am in the process of getting my new rig up and established. I am running a DFI P55-T3eH9 (BIOS 203) with a i3 530. Memory is OCZ PC3-1600 Platinum Low Voltage 2 X 2 GB sticks.
There are only two settings in the BIOS for QPI, 4.8 and 4.27. 4.8 is 22 multi, 4.27 is 18 multi (I think). No matter which I set in the BIOS, CPU Teaker (V1.4) reads a multi of 22. Now, I see Eva2000 is getting a different reading in V1.4 Beta6.
I am trying to figure out if the problem is CPU Tweaker, the i3, or the BIOS. All other readings in CPU Tweaker, CPU-Z, Smart Guardian etc seem to be correct, although I am not aware of another tool that reads QPI.
Any help appreciated, it will help me refine my overclock.
Could this be a bug? Or is it problem on my side?
http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/8...akererrore.jpg
Interesting is that CPU-Tweaker remains fully functional until I click OK and it gets closed.
=>Capt Proton: probably a bios bug. Have you tried with Everest?
=>donmarkoni: could you try with this version and tell me the result...
Otherwize, is this happen just after that you open cpu-tweaker or after a few minute?
When its happen, could you open the monitoring window for checking that all is correct too... thank.
New beta version: cpu-tweaker15b3.zip
-Replace the Average Temp graph by Highest Temp.
-Add a panel with time elapsed.
I managed to replicate error:
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/8...aker2x15b2.jpg
Right - old 1.5b2, Left - new 1.5b2
You're working fast. :) I'll DL 1.5b3 now.
I initialised some divisor in the beta3, let me know if the problem appear again...
Thank for your help. :)
Hi Felix, just curious why CAS is greyed with Memset 4.1 and core 2. Cool SW BTW.
Great apps Felix, I use it on my desktop...but I have a Dell T5400 workstation as a server, will the app work with a Intel 5400 chipset?? (memset or cpu tweaker)
I tried memset and it says it doesn't work with the supported chipset. (granted that was a few months ago)
=>some one: its not possible to change CAS under win on DDR2/DDR3.
=>jwright77: could you make a registers dump (with cpuz->last table->Save report (.TXT))
and send it at memset@hotmail.fr . I'll see if I can do something...
New beta version: CPU-Tweaker 1.5 beta4
-Improve reading frequency on all CPUs.
...because the change has no effect for some systems, or crash the pc for others.
The reason I asked was because it is possible for me to change CAS with software on a PM45 mobile chipset but now I understand it is problematic on some, maybe many systems and therefore disabled.
Thanks for the explanation, it makes sense now. :)
@Felix - I only get "NOT FOR THIS SYSTEM"
Dual X5355 Clovertowns
=>nobugging: could you make a registers dump (with cpuz->last table->Save report (.TXT))
and send it at memset@hotmail.fr .
Hey Felix, I noticed that I can`t change any timings when I boot my setup (Athlon II X4 630, Crosshair III Formula BIOS 1503, 2 x 2 GiByte) with tCAS=5, because the "Apply"-button is greyed out. I tried several dividers and versions (1.4b9 and 1.5b4), but only raising tCAS to 6 (or a higher value) helps. Is this a feature of AMD IMCs, the mainboard/chipset or a bug you can fix maybe? :)
Could you make a screen and a registers dump (with cpuz->last table->Save report (.TXT))
and send it at memset@hotmail.fr .
=>Hyperhorn: Use this version: CPU-Tweaker 1.5 (finale version).
I switched to a Phenom II X4 910, but with the new version it works perfectly.
...used the donation button @ tweakers.fr. :)
...Thank You very much! :)
I'm building a new pc for a friend of my brother's and the system consists of:
gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P motherboard with p55 chipset
intel i7-860 cpu
8gb OCZ DDR3 1333/PC3-10666 (OCZ3P1333LV4GK)
Apparently there's a lot of performance gains to be had by manipulating the TRD/Performance level:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/2427/7
But i'm having difficulty a) finding out what the trd is set at in this system, and b) finding a way to adjust it.
I don't see an explicit TRD value in the bios, and cpu tweaker 1.5 and everest ultimate 5.3 both don't display any such value.
So the question becomes...how do i find out what the trd value is, and how do i change it?
CTR + F1 (I think) to show advanced bios options on Giga boards ;)
CTRL+F1 is for unhide "Spread Spectrum"only.
In BIOS:MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.) /Advanced Memory Settings /DRAM Timing Selectable (SPD) /Auto-Quick-Expert
Setting "Quick" allow Channel A+B together Timing Settings.
Setting "Expert" allow Channel A+B separatly Timing Settings
http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/3...2010132027.png
i tried the ctrl-f1 without any success
i've also tried cpu-z 1.54 - no luck
my bios settings are configured to "expert".....
apparently the "performance enhance" setting might affect trd values...but we have no way of knowing within the bios, we need cpu tweaker or some other software to confirm
Yes,"Performance Enhance"(Standard/Turbo/Extreme)affect this value.
Btw,you can play with this Virtual P55 BIOS (M.I.T)
