Yes I did, but when I boot up the computer, I couldn't boot up W7 from my C300. Probably has something to do with the Marvell drivers which would end up having me to reinstall W7 again. But that's just my guess and I don't feel like installing everything again :D
Actually I just checked my Marvell drivers and they are up to date. I have no idea why it doesn't work then.
Are you using the 1051 driver as part of the drivers package on the first page? Thats the most recent Marvell driver I know of still. I can hook up my WD Black to the MArvell ports or the PCH ports without issue, so the problem might be specifically to do with something about SSD drives. I'll try to get a SSD drive to test with, but not sure how that will pan out ATM as I'm not officially affilliated with Asrock so other manufacturers may not want to send me a SSD to test with.
That's why I said for sake of accuracy. It's just slap-dash comparing something different, albiet how minor the differences, and assuming it's performance will be the same as another. The differences probably are minor but all the same it's still not a SE9120 tested. For example; The P67 and Z68 chipsets are near identical, but for a review I'm doing comparing both chipsets it still didn't stop the Z68 from being around 5000pts better in Aida64s AES test compared to the P67.

@pythonse, I know of another fatality user who can't also make adjustments to the BCLK, but I might be wrong though. That's at 1.625v LLC1. If I wasn't on water I wouldn't do that. :D It's hard to find a decent 2600K.

Check that the ram is seated correct.
Try with only one stick in each of the white slot to see if it boots.
Run each stick with Memtest86+ to check so that they are okey.
Could be that you have a bent pin in the socket.
Anybody tried a LSI 9260-8i (or similar raid card) on this p67 board (preferrably the extreme6)?
This is a deal breaker for me.
I smell trouble. Although some recent bioses from Asrock seem to address problems with non-graphic controllers but they are concerning the third pcie slot which is fixed at 4x. The second long pcie with 8x is an unknown. Most probably you will have to check this by yourself.Quote:

I have tested the new driver and I have to say it is excellent.

The only device which has failed the test it is the one equipped with the famous JMicron chip:

I tend to believe this is due to design flaws in the JMicron chip.
I have replaced this enclosure with another having an ASMedia chipset, which works flawlessly.

Both the Extreme4 and Extreme6 have a PLX chip which adds extra PCI-E lanes without too much latency, but there is still some limitation. AFAIK if using 3 graphics cards the configuration will be 8x8x4. Leaving a few lanes free for any other devices connected to PCI-E 1x slots or running through/on the PCI-E bus such as onboard audio might do.Quote:

The board uses electronic switching gates. To clarify; does the card get reported as running at 16x when the card is in slot 1 and in slot 2? It shouldn't matter if the graphics card is in PCI-E slot 1 or 2 as bandwidth will only be split between both slots when a graphics card is detected in both slots. I'm assuming you have run driver cleaner and installed latest PCH (9.2.0.1030) and graphics drivers?Quote:

Unfortunately this is the way pci-e switching is implemented. When the board detects anything in PCIE4 it switches to 8x/8x mode and you cannot control this. No 16x in PCIE4 even when PCIE2 is free. More: no 16x/1x (PCIE2/PCIE4) mode which is stupid waste of resources if you ask me.

@ Nw0rb; Yes that is how automatic electronic gate switching works. Top: 16x, middle (when populated): 8x (regardless) Bottom: 4x. When using dual graphics both upper PCI-E slots switch to 8x mode. Otherwise you can look at the slots individually working at 16/8/4.
The reason is the number of electrical lanes implemented for pcie4 and the board complexity as a result.
Can someone help me get to 5ghz? I highly doubt I will use it 24/7 but it would make me feel better :P
I was at 4.8ghz using the CPU load line calibration at level 4 +.065v (offset). Stable after 1 hour of LinX with "All" checked. Increased that all the way to .1v to get to 5ghz yet it still kept crashing 2 seconds after starting Prime95.
Other voltages:
DRAM: 1.545v
PCH: auto
CPU PPL: 1.750v
VTT: 1.181v
VCCSA: auto
RAM is OCed to 1866 with 13+ timings (auto OC option)
All power saving things are enabled which probably doesn't help me but I would like to keep all that stuff on.
I haven't tried 4.9ghz since I felt like I could jump to 5ghz without too much problem.
And why can't I take screenshots of the UEFI? Is an external hard drive not a USB storage device?
1. The chip sounds like its probably at its limit
2. USB storage devices need to be formatted to FAT16 or FAT32.
@ Ket or anyone that can answer. Ok so i installed gtx 460's in sli everything went great but now when i boot up not so much a big deal but it hangs at b2 on debug display. so it goes threw the numbers then hangs on b2 for a second not super long just wondering if this is normal says that its Legacy Option ROM Initialization i dont know what that means or if i can turn it off.
Look in the UEFI, there is a legacy rom option ;) I have another 460 I can hook up for SLI, but what you are describing sounds normal. I'll get around to checking in a day or two.

And i wanna throw this computer... This F1 error when i have pll over voltage enabled is getting annoying but im doing some test and it seems to be cause by the ram atleast thats what my test show i have a cl9 gskill kit and if i run it at 9-10-9-27 it will cause the F1 error but if i let it auto set timings it doesnt do it atleast it hasnt in an hour or so.
Look in the "Boot" menu. Its labelled "PCI ROM Priority", or simply scan the page for "Legacy ROM". The option wasn't always in the UEFI so if you aren't running the latest UEFI it probably won't be there.
Ok so after som more test at 4.6 with pll enabled everything boots fine no errors ... so would this mean my chip max is 4.6 ? idk tho cause i can get 5.0 stable and bench n such with no problem theres gotta be somthing causin this problem.. and ket no i dont have latest bios because they didnt fix the full reset when spread spectrum is enabled
You don't say what you are running your memory at, but you can try bumping up VTT. You can't go in "expecting" your hardware to hit certain levels, thats just not how it works. Take incremental steps, you will make your life a lot easier when trying to narrow problems down.
Weird seems like updating to 1.60 has fixed the f1 problem.

You're worried about 20 points in Heaven? That difference can be put down to any number of things. In reality that 20 points is probably actually what? Equivillent to about 0.2FPS? Thats well within any margin of error all benchmarks have.

Your CPU is throttling down because you didn't set Turbo Boost and Core Current Limits manually to for e.g. 255/255/300

20pts in Heaven is certainly not equivillent to 2-7FPS. I can reduce the OC on my GTX460 to simulate that point difference and its about 0.5FPS tops running @ 1680*1050, tessellation on extreme, maximum AA & AF. For your difference to be so high you must be benching at a very low resolution. Check also the cpu on another mb, than it's clear if it is the mb.
If it was the CPU... there should be still some activity on the mb, right. Like drDebug indicating somehting or at least some leds light up :)

Its worth checking the CPU, if that checks out ok would seem safe to think its the board. Deffinately very odd with no warning your system just doesn't work anymore.
Hey I wanted to post this just in case anyone was having difficulties achieving decent clock speeds. When I first built my computer, I was able to easily hit 5ghz with my setup. However, for the last month or so, I've been completely unable to get my system to boot at anything higher than 4.2 ghz (multi=42 x FSB=100). When I would raise my vcore voltage to 1.4+, I could get it to boot at 44 MAX, but my system was extremely unstable, and would fail almost every stability test.
After toying with latency here and there, I tried making some adjustments to my memory timings. I had set them originally to the manufacturer recommended settings of 9-9-9-24-1N, which was also the recommended settings stated in the UEFI screen XMP profile. However, CPU-Z suggested at 800mhz (I have 2x4gb PC12800 ram), that my timings should be 9-9-9-25-2N.
Out of curiosity, I loosened my ram timings slightly, and I immediately noticed a reasonable increase in performance. So rebooted to the UEFI, set my Multi to 46 and it booted fine, and ran Lynx for 20 passes, set to a problem size that used nearly all my ram. To my amazement, the test was able to complete without any stability issues, and more importantly with incredible results. Every pass took nearly the exact same amount of time, and calculated 120 Gflops with each pass without more than a .7 deviation. All this and thevoltage never went above 1.40v (Excellent voltage for my CPU). I re-ran it at a 48 multi, and achieved similar results. At 50 (5.0 Ghz overclock), it wasn't as precise, but no issues stability wise. While it required roughly 1.48v for the cpu, temps never went about 80C (thank god I upgraded my cpu cooler).
Long story short, if you can't seem to get your multiplier to budge without boot or stability issues, try making some adjustments to your ram timings, or even drop your FSB down a hair (.01-.02), then see where your at.
Honestly, the performance benefits I've seen as a result totally outweighs the potential loss of performance from looser ram timings. Manufacturer recommended ram timings are not always the ideal settings for your memory, as two memory packs of the exact same brand and model are usually quite different performance-wise, hence the reason why upgrading ram typically requires you buy a whole new ram set.
I'm slightly new to the OC scene so this is probably common knowledge, but I figured I'd share it just in case it might help anyone. Thanks for the thread Ket, it's been super useful for me the last few months since I got my P67 E4 mobo.

I just got my board back from RMA. I had to replace it, so I'm trying to figure out if I'll sell it or keep it for a project.
Question for you Ket! How is the bus OCing on the board? I never played around with it. I was thinking of getting an i3 2100/2120 and pushing it as far as it'll go and submit to HWbot. I think that'll set a record as there's 0 submissions for 2100 in most cases.
My powersupply died and killed my motherboard and CPU in the process. Now I got a new and better 850W OCZ ZX to replace the old one and I also got a new fresh MB and CPU. Now to the problem: I can't run both my memory sticks together. I've tried them both seperatly and they work just fine. With both inserted I get code 49 and no boot at all. Code 49 is not even listed in the manual. Does anyone know a solution?

I have my 24/7 i5 rig OC to 4.6 with Extreme4 and I'm very happy with what I got. (list of components are in my sig)

My i5 is an average chip. Not great but not the worst... Costa Rica chip but I've managed to make it stable 4.6GHz @1.305v (fixed).
It boots up fine 5.0GHz@1.430v?
(of course it wasn't stable. I did this just for the curiosity if I could even boot it up. I wouldn't want 5GHz on fan cooling...)
It has been stable for everything I do (games, some video rendering) and also stable on Prime95 Blend (13+hours), IBT, LinX(AVX), 3DMark.
They all passes fine and stable.
But the CPU temp is I think too high for the Vcore I'm putting in.
In Prime95 Blend Test, my highest core temp reaches to 84c (always the 2 middle core gets hot and 2 outer core stays cool, delta4~10c)
All the core stays at 69c~75c 99% of time during the test but sometimes it spike to 84c.
In LinX(AVX), I've only run 3 times for now since it's so scary to see the temp (lol)... It gave me 88c max core temp...
I know I only have Hyper 212+ but even that, the CPU temp should be a bit lower than what I got.
The first time I've put this HSF on, there wasn't enough TIM on so it had even higher temp (88c in Prime95)
I'm pretty sure I got the HSF on right for this.
Also I only had AS5 with me (I have to order MX-4) but even before completely cured, the temp is still too high.
I've attached the BIOS and some stress test pictures.
Please let me know if anyone see my BIOS setting odd or suggestion for better settings to make it run a bit cooler.

You are happy with only 2 minutes of stress testing? Put Prime 95 in Blend mode for at least 30-60min.
Bus adjustment has little to do with the board and is almost entirely up to the CPU itself. Plonk the CPU in, and see what it can do :up:Quote:

Also I took a side clear panel of my case off and put perforated mesh metal panel with 120mm intake fan.
It gave me 2c down on max temp. Prime95 max goes to 82c, avg stays around 67-74c now.
When I disabled "spread spectrum", I got exact 100BCLK in windows but the extra 0.02MHz needed extra +0.05v vcore to make it stable...
I guess 1.305 was the lowest possible stable voltage I could get.
So right now I'm at 1.310v (fixed, LLC2) @4.6GHz Prime95 stable so far for 6 hours.
If you want to get your CPU stable at a higher frequency, try reducing your memory clock (if its OCd that is). After testing I had to reduce my memory clock from 2133 to 1866 7-9-7 to be fully stable @ 4.7GHz. No amount of tweaking would get the system stable with the higher memory frequency :(

I've managed to get 1866 9-9-9-25 1.5v in first try. :shocked:
I might be able to get better timings with higher voltage but for now I just wanted to see the difference.
I've run short tests using LinX(AVX) with 1M and ALL (P.Size 29485, Memory 6656) and SuperPi.

LinX(AVX) 1M test showed about 3 GFlops increase in avg. 110.6 --> 113.5 GFlops

I see a bit of increase all across.
Should I be expecting more from upping the voltage and tightening the timings?

Unfortunately, due to the variability between individual hardware, there is no true across the board settings to abide by. For one thing, the ram timings that are advertised by G.Skill may not be the best settings for your specific hardware, and I don't understand why they include that info to begin with. I'm surprised/jealous that you are able to hit 4.6 ghz with a vCore at 1.305, and I don't see why you'd want to go any higher. A lot of people think the higher they can get their processing speed up to, the faster their system will run. I disagree with this strongly, as I've found my computer runs at its best at 4.4ghz all around, even though I know I can hit 5 ghz no problem. It's also a good way to ensure the longest possible lifespan of your processor.Quote:

I just copied someone else' 2133 setting and guess what... I went straight to CMOS reset button. lol
Seems like all case by case, chip by chip, system by system to find a good stable settings.
Prime95 36 min, 4800 1.336v rock solid, offset and LLC level 3.

Also idle state for long period and regular web browsing counts, too.
Some system are stable with maxed stress but crashes or freezes on idle or browsing internet.
At least I won't be satisfied until I clear all those as a 24/7 stable OC rig.

I was tweaking with memory timings and I got no post so I cleared CMOS and now I get dual-boot...
Does this mean I have to take out the battery to clear completely or re-install BIOS?
is there a way to recovery a UEFI from a bad flash?

Official 1.80 Bios wiped saved profiles for me. WTF? I thought they'd solved that - or is there something new which meant all profiles needed to be created a new?

Did you save the profiles with Overclock DNA? If you did, try to reload the profiles from OC DNA, reboot and load the profile from the EFI.Quote:
