1.45 @ 4ghz is too much

1.3vcore/1.3vtt should run it stable @ 450x9

did you oc via easytune or bios?

bios, it drops to 1.328 load according to cpuz. I posted a SS on the other page at 4Ghz here it is...

look guys it all comes down to voltage regulation.. your mobo dictates that.. some do better than others but most do worst.. once you adjust your psu.. the psu dictates the voltage regulation not the mobo sorta speak

then you have to adjust v12 on the 750 psu or try a beefy 1000w psu but even that will have to be adjusted if necessary

but do fiddle around with higher vcore vtt pll i/o

I saw a Silerverstone PSU that has a built in potentiometer to adjust the single +12v rails.

I read it at jonnyguru review. I think he around here but I doubt he still remember how much the poti gonna effect the rails.

i have the op850 and have adjusted v12 pot @ max.. the psu is not able to boot such high clocks :)

I think it has been shown that as long as the 12v line is within spec (11.50v to 12.40?), adjusting the pots makes no difference because no matter how high you adjust it, the voltage regulators still have to adjust the input power; therefore the higher the incoming voltage, the bigger the strain on the VRs. I think that vtt at 1.9 makes a lot of a difference; I don't think I have the balls to do it. As far as adjusting rails, the 3.3v line would is more important especially when clocking vdimm up to 2.8, because if all the rails are loaded, that 3.3v could drop real quickly, so ample overhead is a good thing.

2. beefy/chunky p35/p45 mobo - hearty chokes/caps/phases/bios options
3. ram that eats volts for breakfast @ default/higher clocks
4. your guts/balls/whatever you got :)

whom you listen to what you do and how you do it is all up to you but
even if you dont achieve your oc goals.. do enjoy what you can achieve with what youve got :)

Here is what I got so far. I am 9x450 for 4005MHz. Here are the settings:

Vcore 1.35625v(reading @ 1.304) - vdroop drops it to 1.27v under load
PLL 1.60v(reading @ 1.680v)
FSB VTT 1.4v(reading @ 1.344v)
NB 1.47v(reading @ 1.488v)
LLC Auto

DUH turn LLC on, that way you dont get such ridiculous vdroop :up:

3D06, 05,03 pcmark05, super pi 32M, Aquamark 3 otherwise it is nothing more than an unproven suicide shot
post cpuz and gpuz in the shot along with the bench and the appropriate link.

Then I will really give you some credit.....You will deserve it!!

Yes I am going to play with the LLC this weekend when I have more time to devote to oc'ing this bad boy. I am using a TRUE cooler. I am looking for the highest stable oc that I can run 24/7. Mine is an E0 stepping and SLB8W/L822B509 with a vid of 1.215. Are there any settings other than the LLC that you think need to change?

I got a Gigabyte ODIN GT 800w and you can ajust all the voltage rails thru the p_tuner software.

12v line can go as high as 12.40v on the multimeter.

Dunno if that enough, what you think Napalm?

I'm stuck at 4365mhz 485FSB. I'm pretty sure its a FSB issue not max CPU OC.
I dropped multi to 8 and left all settings the same and still couldnt get stable at 490.
Windows will freeze a few minutes after booting. I've tried upping vcore, NB, SB, FSBT, and PLL.
Also i tried transaction booster on auto. My NB and SB never go over 55c.
Here are my bios settings and at the end a ss of 8hrs stable at my highest OC.

Just ran 4 pass memtest all tests at 500x8 no errors. I tried upping pll to 1.7 and nb to 1.6 and taking out 4gb ram. When trying to boot into windows at 495 or 500x8 i almost make it to desktop but screen stays black right before the desktop. I'm gonna try an older bios now.

Edit: tried 0907 bios no difference. I'm in windows now at 490x8 3920mhz but as soon i reached desktop the sidebar errored out. so it should freeze any time.

I still can't get my Q9650 up to 450 FSB and stable, I'm using a Rampage Extreme and I'm pretty sad about this :(.

Napalm, i do not really want to attack you in any way, but do you ever spend a thought, that you are the one lucky guy, that found the golden Q9650/CPU/Mobo-combo all people ever searching for?

Now here are a lot of people who think they can clock there Q9650 to > 4600MHz easily, just by playing with perfect(high) voltages, low vcore, and with a psu with modded rails, that should have min. 1000W.

I can run 4500MHz 1.42V load all benches, a lot of hours long. If i want to go to 4600MHz i just need to up the vcore to 1.48V load. Any other voltages doesnt't really matter at this point. Every cpu stops working on a other point, thats a fact. :)

Do not see this as a attack, it is just based on experience. Imho i think you should realise that too?
