the only thing is that it can get to mid 90c as it is i dont want to burn it out
ps i dont know what the card can go to with the temp
thanks
with thease sort of overclocks what temp is the northbrige getting are you all watercooling it.
Mine is hitting near 60c but i dont think everest is picking it up right sine its not hot to touch
As far as I know there is no nb temp sensor on these boards, just one close to the sb.
I have touched the south brige heat sink but its really cool so it cant be oveheating since the northbrige only gets warm im happy about that now thanks
do you see any difference in your games when you overclock your cpu becuse i dont is there any reason that is happining

Is the 333 strap 2.40B broke at 500fsb with th F9 bios? Should I go back to F4 or F6?
well i dont know about F9 but i do know that when running 2x2GB kits its sometimes can be hard to do but now impossible.
anyway i decided to give my new cpu a go at OCing with the stock heatsink, and i got to say im quite happy with my new cpu.
after i had to sell my awesome E3110 that could do 4250 w/1.24v-1.28v depending on the multiplier,im glad to report that my
new E8400 has gotten off to a good start.i dialed in some of my old settings from my UD3P and first try i got this.
http://i42.tinypic.com/24pmd80.jpg
i stopped it cause it was getting hot(have to adjust my airconditioner vent hose)will try again after i reconfigure some things
and some strategic fan placement to see if i can keep the temps down so i can prime for at least an hour.
To monitor NB temp use MCHTemp.Quote:

well after some rearranging i got it to prime for over an hour:)
im going to try and lower the vcore some more and see what i get.
very very happy with this new cpu:up:

What is your CPU reference? Cause mine is at stock which would be .760 if the VTT was at stock 1.2, and I need 1.328 vcore at that same speed (4.250ghz) to make it stable. Does increasing the CPU reference really help lower the vcore, cause I haven't tried increasing it.
[QUOTE=bluestang;3790955]bluestang,yep memory scores are much better indeed.i wish i had a set of d9's right now so i could test out my new board at 2.40B ddr1200.
my first one did great at that setting but my replacement for the first not so good.so i am curious as to how this UD3R will do.
Dark-Energy,for these runs my cpu ref is set to normal which sets it to 0.76
mch is at 0.70 at 1.20vtt and my vtt is at 1.26.as to helping to lower vcore it can by a notch or two.
but i think it mostly comes down to how good your cpu is.my 1.25vid cpu needed 1.34-1.36v for 4250
but my lower vids needed 1.24- 1.28v.
well it seems that 8.5x500@4250 w/1.28vcore works just fine
http://i43.tinypic.com/260g1mt.jpg
and 8.5x506@4300 w/1.28 :D
http://i40.tinypic.com/2m5midi.jpg
and 8.5x512@4352 w/1.28v :D:D
http://i44.tinypic.com/23kb0cz.jpg
gonna try for 4400 w/1.28v
I just love it, most for itīs so stable, consistent and easy to tune in, i have abused it a lot and it always recover when I try to do some insane OC runs.
OC duals up to FSB 600, if you want to go higher I think you need a board with better setup, RF is to coarse.
On the downside are the heatpipe/sink for the NB, itīs not good enough if you intend to push it, recommend to go with a 3rd party heatsink with a fan or waterblock.
If I had to chose a good DDR2 board today I had probably chose the EP45-UD3R/P, some what better in overall, what about downside, hmmmm, itīs a bit more sensitivit to tune in though but once you have it tuned in and learned how it works it really rocks, donīt have 16x/16x PCIe but I donīt think that matter that much.
Otherwise I think itīs some what better in overall.
@pangingIII
Nice 4x2GB result you got.
Is it with those Crucial value?
@radaja
Looks like you got your hand on a good E8400, nice.
Have you got a new job or are you still searching for one?
10x allot GhostLeader ... I'm currently on UD3P ... but had the oportunity to buy an RF at verry good price but .... I'm gonna say pas :)
yep i think i got a good one indeed:D
and im working for an employment agency right now but the company i've been working for the last three weeks is going to hire me on full time
im going to try and get 9x500@4500 today, but my cooling might not be up to the task.i've got a 4500RPM fan mounted on top of the intel stock heatsink
and the airconditioner vent hose blowing directly down from above it.to be
able to do 1hr plus prime runs ill have to crank up the heat in the house to keep the airconditioner running full time(blowing the cold stuff)otherwise this chip will shoot up to 65c and beyond.and i dont like to go above 65C.
im hoping that i can get 4500 with less than 1.34v,otherwise i think ill have to wait till i get a new cpu cooler.but im gonna try:D
not bad at all.4470 w/1.31v :D FAILED ORTHOS after 25m
http://i42.tinypic.com/nmk9ps.jpg
moving on.9x500@4500 w/1.32v :D . i think god finally granted me my very own golden cpu :D

How much MCH volts will I need for 2x1GB rams @ 1200 mhz on 500fsb x8.5 ??
anywhere from 1.26 to 1.36.ive seen some do it with less than 1.30,also depends on what cpu(dual core or quad)
Nice to hear, nice to get some cash, isnīt.
Keep up the good work with your gear. :)
Good idea to say pass if you already have a UD3P.
You shouldnīt need more then 1,24v but it depends on what tRD you intend to use, probably tRD 8 I think, I did run my E8400 @ FSB 500 x 8 2x1 @ 1200MHz 555 15 tRD 8 with 1,22v.
Hope this screenie can help some.

thanks Ghostleader.at 9x500@4500 w/1.32 its still running too hot for my cooling.
im going to move the setup into the bedroom because the airconditioner in there
blows much more cooler air than the front room one.if i can get 5c-8c cooler then
i can see what this new cpu can really do;)
Bluestang see,i knew ive seen some use much less mch volts.great work Ghostleader
with 1.22mch
@ radaja
what vid and fpo/batch is your e8400?
and i please you to post a template when u get 4500 stable
kagula323,vid is 1.23 and batch is Q843A771.i got it from newegg last week
and heres my settings so far.i think the only thing i might have change
is the vcore.but ill let you know once i move the computer.
hope this helps :DCode:MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
