i saw your 500x8.5 you have a very nice oc as well. and if i could i would prefer to have your chip.

i can get up to 4.4GHz but at the end i will probably end up using 4.2-4.3GHz max.
it's getting real hot when prime95 was going, and if i go to a little more then 4.4GHz and at 1.55v vcore it sometimes went up to the high 80c's.

But why use clockgen if I can use ET6?

What am I doing wrong? Whenever I save settings in easytune 6 it never really saves my voltages, I alwasy have to set everything again :S

There really isn't too much of a reason. I prefer setFSB over ET6 because of much faster load times which make it better for getting the last few MHz before a Pi run. :up:

I just bought a UD3P for my QX9750.

Does anyone know the details of how the BIOS controls the CPU's PWM fan?

(ie what's the correlation between CPU temp and % fan speed in the BIOS?)

P.S.
I'm kind of disappointed that the only regulated fan is the CPU

Well finally got my UD3P back from RMA (wouldn't boot dual channel no matter what). Will be setting it up later today and see what I can get out of her.

Well so far so good. Booted right up at 500 fsb and now the testing begins. My p5q would not break 480 stable with all the tweaking in the world. It however did 560 like a rock on my 8500

I'm pleased with my first gigabyte MB purchase!

a UD3R but havent used it yet,cause i dont have a cpu yet.but im thinking i might just send it back or sell it and get either the ddr3 variant or the EP45-extreme.since i dont have
any ram the ddr3 is looking quite appealing since i can just buy some ddr3 ram.let me know what your thoughts are on the ddr3 UD3 boards.thanks

For what its worth I now own Zucker's Q9650 + 8GB + UD3P and I can say that it is the sexiest quad board I've used :nod: Very easy to get a quad stable 520+ FSB :D

i use DDR2 one for quite some time just like yourself. i thought DDR3 ram was not expensive anymore, the DDR3 board is just something new that i wanted to try, and as you know, they both are non expensive boards. i can't say i like the DDR3 one more than i like the DDR2's, in fact it took me a while to get used to using the DDR3 one. but now to me, it's easy to use, either one of them, so all i would say i guess is you must try it to really know the difference, but if you like things to be easy to you then stay with DDR2 board.

Would it help if everyone put the Batch # of their CPU in their signature? I think it would.

Nice clocks panging!! I may try that ddr3 board. One question, what speed should I buy for the ddr3? saw some 2000's for a good price but have no idea what to get.

@bluestang, I have only done/tried much, to do Prime @4500. *8hrs. I don't do much besides a Pi run at that high. Q828A618. I did this last night with 1.4v bios.

As for ocing I never noticed one being better than the other, I got the same results on all.

F9 bios now, seems to be good. F8 was the only one I didn't care for, unstable with same settings as on the others. 500fsb 24/7, 506fsb was the highest Ive been able to get stable, after that temps get to high.

yeah im suck at 555fsb right now with my q9550 :( i think ill try the F9 maybe it will help a little

For windows SS and a few tests 4.725ghz but I have been trying for Prime and LinX stable.
