Here's 1004 for those of you having trouble downloading of asus slow ass server I put it on mine: www.tonysmod.netfirms.com/downloads/P5BD1004.zip
I have NEVER gotten ANY OC Profiles to work worth a DANG after doing a BIOS FLASH with ANY Asus motherboard i own. That includes the P5B Deluxe WiFi, a P5W DH Deluxe, and now a Striker Extreme.Quote:

Bad part is, i had a 500Mhz overclock going and totally dicked the dog with the profile and can't remember the votlages I was using. Now, i have to waste time trying to find the sweet spots again. Should have taken a picture and banked it.

Yeah oc profile is only good for the bios you saved it on.
just got my p5b-d(sold the old 975x/g).
all I can say so far is wow. I can get this X6800 stable @ 1.54V 3.8GHz, on the dfi it wouldnt even POST even @ 1.6V.
also my OCZ PC8000 XTC XE is flying. currently Orthos blending 1112MHz@2.4V 4-3-3-10. again on the DFI I needed 2.55V to get it stable @1100MHz.
also FSB of course just @ 445MHz at the moment and the DFI wouldnt blend orthos for 1 second above 420MHz.
I love this motherboard!:D
cant edit?????
anyways any difference noticed between 1004 and 0910(which Im running)?

Get Rid of Q-Fan to give SpeedFan full control
Bring SoundMax up to its promises - players tell me I sound like I'm talking from the bathroom , and the damn background noises while recording voice :slapass:
And perhaps find a way to OC with OC , as I promised a friend I won't be naughty again :woot:
Honestly i haven't tried the option, but I think u are supposed to select AC97 option instead of HD audio. I will check the bios option when I get back from work and write it down to you. Anyway regarding your obesrvation about 1 thing doing both bolded stuff. Every sentence is a standalone step that is supposed to be tried. And they are placed in certain order, which means e.g. if step 1 fails to make any difference try step 2 (or in this case next line). Anyway today I will revise the manual, since many new stuff happened, and perhaps add a better few explanation here and there.Quote:
Anyway to keep my onboard sound ang reduce boot tines? when I followed thiese instruction my boot times were 2=X as fast, but I get no sound at all. What did I miss here. When I do the first bolded item, the second is already done when I reboot.
Me, i have apacer 512 MB . But I still havent tried renaming the file, so today when i flash new bios I will try, a report back.Quote:
Anyone having problem with EZ Flash 2 + usb drive?!

Moral of this story is : write down your settings to paper or e-doc . Man that without a doubt trusts his computer, is like an animal trainer believing that without a wip he could command a hungry tiger.
Yes! I sounded like that, then i messed around with volume levels in soundmax, and it dissapeared. Have u engaged your mic boost? I enable it, then i reduce volume of mic... dont know maybe it helps.Quote:

Dear sir/madam,
Thank you for contacting ASUS Customer Service.
My name is Penny. It's my pleasure to help you with your problem.
The AHCI driver is installed when you install OS. Please make the floppy Raid driver disk from Support CD. Then when you install OS, please press F6 to install the AHCI driver in the floppy disk.
If you have any problem, please refer FAQ(Frequently Asked Questions) or contact us again. We will try our best to help you.

Dear Miss Yang,
As I stated in my email, i want to know which driver to install for AHCI from 4 given as option in intel drivers folder. I do not want to install by F6 procedure or by slipstreaming drivers to windows install cd. If u can tell me the name of controller driver that is displayed when intell controller is set to AHCI mode, thank you, eitherwise you are wasting my time.
Looking foward to hearing from you,
Sincerely your,
Angelico Payne.
What do u think I rated this reply from 1-10, not that it matter so them anyway?
Anyone tried 1004 ? Anything new and worthy to mention ?

i used EZ flash as well but i reverted back to setup defaults before i flashed it.
well there doesn't seem to be anything wrong, i only set the stock fsb and multi before I flashed. I used 910 before it and used Asus Update for that, which did erase the settings.
you need to load setup defaults and not just set multi and fsb to stock.
Anyone else have to up vcore with the 910 bios? I was able to boot fine at 1.325v at 410x8, now I had to raise it to 1.375v to boot into Windows. Running Orthos now, hopefully I can nudge it down a little bit more.
yup i had to bump it from 1.625V to 1.65V in BIOS to get it stable again... i have a feeling im going to go back to 0804 soon... i dare not try 1004Quote:

OK so now I"m baffled... Last night I go to change some settings around and my board started acting completely...NORMAL... I didn't have to use any extra sticks of RAM to get it booted... I played around with the multi and the FSB and the strap and the nb settings and the board acted like it was suppose to....
I was all ready to send this sucker back and OUT OF THE BLUE literally the first time since I've had this particular board it acts like it's suppose to....STRANGE.
I was running at 450x7 then decided to go with 400x9 which boots but wouldn't load windows...even when I upped the cpu voltage to 1.475.... It actually booted at 400x9 at 1.4 but of course wouldn't go into windows so I started upping it and still couldn't get it to load... finally I settled on 380x9 @1.47 and my memory is at like 800something... Any ideas or tips on getting it stable at perhaps 400x9 and RAM@ 1000+?
Yes, it was me.Quote:
