Holy Cow makes my head hurt.... thanks for the explination.... I think I get it now. I will resume testing tomorrow. Hitting the hay. Catch you on the flip side. Thanks again for all of your help. I will give those settings a try and post back...
I know, I had headaches with that too until it took me a few weeks to understand references let alone on the UD3P but one day it just clicked and I understood them....and np for the help
God I gotta get one of these boards!
Jsunn, stay in this range:

Hi everyone, here is another problem which i really hate about this motherboard, it says it has dolby sound onboard, hell this oboard sound is the worst ever cause it doesn't work (i know i should get a creative or asus sound card but that's why i bought ud3p instead ud3r for the sound) In vista 64 sp1 when i use any realtek drivers the sound is not installed properly cause under realtek hd audio manager it doesn't know how to configure 5.1 settings right. It disables the rear speakers and it enables the sides speakers which are only available on the 7.1 ch sound speakers. The windows drivers configure the sound as 5.1 sides off rears on without any issues (detected also on the winamp output plugin) i even have speaker fill option available. The sound chipset is ALC 889A the same as on my brothers ep35-ds3r and to him the sound drivers are installed corectly on vista x64 sp1 as it should be on 5.1 configuration, sides off and rear on and also on the realtek console it has speaker fill avilable which i don't have. This is one hell of a buggy board and gigabyte doesnt have a support forum and they don't seem to be aware of the problem so i dont know what to do cause the sound doesn't have any amplitude and is very low in any way possible. I really dont understand why they didnt @ least fix the :banana::banana::banana: sound on this board. My speakers are logitech g51
An issue with sound and it is a "buggy" board? Sounds like some frustration there. Computers, no to alike, often no explanation as to why soemthing is happening. Get used to it.
Here is a link to a forum with Gigabyte representation. Some good info available, as there is here.

Don't know why I just noticed it but when overclocked does anyone elses board do this....When I first turn on in the morning (after shutting down at night and switching main power center/surge protector off) it does a quick power on (about a half second) then off then back on in about a second or 2 and continues to boot. It only happens when OC'd. Is it just my board or do any of you have this as well? Thanks!
Got a new Q9550 (had an 8500 that I hit 4.2 with, was doing more video work so i decided to get a quad core) , this oc is with 8gb of ram, havent stressed it so far but its looking good!
