I have to agree. I have posted some results on ocuk and they are nowhere near, but tbh i think its as much to do with the Asus P5W settings that cant be changed in the bios.

Before i start i would point out that i have become aware that my motherboard bios is very poor when it comes to RAM settings. Asus only let you set the 4 main variables. I have discovered that, like AMD64 memory settings, some of the lesser variables can be as important for good clocks.

With that in mind my comparison relates to my existing OCZ EL Plat 6400 4,5,4,15 2.1v which i run at 360FSB 4:5 which is 900Mhz using stock settings.

Onto the Geil results:

I had the following success when posting into the bios....
1. 360 FSB Ram 1:1 DDR720 at 3,4,4,10 2.2v
2. 360 FSB Ram 4:6 DDR1080 at SPD (board reads as 5,6,6,18 - board issue) 2.2v
3. 360 FSB Ram 4:5 DDR900 at 4,4,4,12 2.1v

Memtest failed with ALL of the above. This is due i think to the way the Asus mobo sets the hidden ram variables... very poor.

Windows ran at:
1. 360FSB 1:1 DDR720 3,4,4,10 2.2v and if i changed the ram settings in windows it run to 390FSB DDR780 - would not do 400FSB DDR800

2. 360FSB 3:4 DDR960 SPD 2.2v
3. 360FSB 4:5 DDR900 4,4,4,12 2.1v

I see such a small improvement in real useability over my ocz the only difference 4,4,4,12 instead of 4,5,4,15. Although the OCZ will not post above DDR975 so there is hope.

I think the Geil is good for DDR1000 at 4,4,4,12 and possibly DDR1100 at 5,5,5,15 but until this board is sorted i'm wasting my time with it.

I have now put the ram in with the OCZ and its stable at 360FSB 4:5 DDR900 4,5,4,15 2.1v so i now have 4GB ram in the system. I'm happy with that until the bios is sorted.

Summary:
Not the fantastic ram i was seeking, but as good as my OCZ, which is on a par with most Gskill HZ i have seen.... so excellent value for money.

PDC22G5300LLK

and i can't find what chips are on the modules
at the upper right corner there is an A
and sfter this i can red

800AF3S
HVV1903
0620

as soon as i get back my camera from esdee i will post a screenshot..:D

I have the exact same chips, does anyone know how they clock/ wth they are? (don't have a DDr2 motherboard yet, so I can't test em)

I think yes, well it's easy to check just look from the side of the stick and you could see easily if it's fatty or not
