**Official DFI LanParty UT P35-T2R Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

Hi there, I am running the Silverstone DA750. It is listed in my sig beside my case. Hope that helps. I am using this supply with an overclocked quad core, overclocked 8800 Ultra, 3 hard drives, 1 optical, sound card, physx card and multiple high powered fans without issue. I understand your psu was fine in another system but one major downfall of DFI boards is their sometimes quirky compatibility with certain PSU's. Enermax are notorious for not working properly on their boards where as other boards can use them without issue.

Yeah that does help because I'm trying to figure out what PSU to upgrade to! By the way sorry about missing your PSU, I just missed it!

I honestly doubt that a 700W OCZ wouldn't be sufficient for that rig.
On my Corsair HX520W i've had more demanding things and that OCZ is way more powerful.

I'm probably not understanding you correnlty mad_skills but why do you think the OCZ (700w) couldnt' handle the load I have (given that it is actually working correctly that is)? Especially since as you say your HX520 has handled even more load before?

Silverstone PSU's are pretty good, especially the Zeus line-up. But the downside is that they arent completely sleeved (SATA and Molex are not sleeved) and they are not modular, but they are rebadged Etasis units :up:

Thanks again for the help guys! I came up with one idea that I wanted to run by you guys regrading my power issue. The absolute first time I powered up the board I had connected all the normal power connectors (ATX, 12v 8-pin, and 2x 6-pin GFX connectors) but I also plugged in one of the two 4-pin floppy connectors (for when running 2x graphics cards). After I setup my RAID 0 array and did a once-through on the BIOS I shut the board done and removed that 4-pin connector (because I read through the Users Manual which said those 4-pin connector should only be used when 2x cards are installed). Could plugging in that additional 4-pin connector have caused this issue I'm having now with the Nvidia Power Sentinal? After everything I have checked out and read about this is the only thing I can figure would cause this?

I always plug in all the onboard power connectors regardless of the number of video cards used. Onboard power supplied from multiple points almost always helps with stability when pushing the board and components.

Excellent, so adding that extra 4-pin during initial startup defienlty wouldn't have messed up card or board? At this point I havn't tried plugging in both 4-pin power connectors, maybe it will help with my "power sentinal" message? By the way I just ran AQ3 (with RT running in the background to graph temps and clockspeeds). My normal (stock CPU and GPU speeds) is around 200k, well I just got a whopping 56k so this "power sentinal" is obviously doing something to lower the performance of card (by the way RT showed steady stock clockspeeds throughout the AQ3 run 575/900)? It must lower performance some other way? Thanks again guyys for all the help!

Hi, Im looking to buy a 4gb kit for this board, ive been looking at a 4GB G.Skill DDR2 PC2-8000 PQ Series (1000mhz) 5-5-5-15 timmings, does anyone know if this kit would work OK on this damn picky board ?, some people are getting fairly comfortable overclocks out of this kit, 1 guy in particular got 1130mhz out of it which is plenty for me, but just need to find out if it would work ok before I buy.

No, i meant that i doubt that the PSU is the problem, 'cause you have a more powerful one than mine. :)

Thanks Praz, what sort of voltage were you putting through those for 1080 and was that the best clock you could get out of them, also, what were the latencies like ?

Just got my Gskill PC2 8000 2X2G kit and mostly testing for max OC/FSB still.

Running 485 FSB and have not fully tested the OC but am glad I am closing in on 500 FSB with 4GB installed.

Haven't tuned the RAM at all ATM, just kinda tossed it in and hit the GO button. Will have more on the way ;)

Thanks brother for the info...tried that last night since i sooo i dislike the P35's SG look...at least the X38's SG has the DFI colors.

i just wish DFI would make a better tool...more accurate on voltages & temps...or maybe something like Abit's OC Guru...just my 2 cents

Thanks emoners!! I don't think I would try this voltage out either on air. Probably would be a distinct POP sound followed by a bad smell. :D

And yes Esau, this is the board I have spent so much time and money looking for. It has been a long and arduous journey but I am glad I did it. Now I can turn my focus to bring my HTPC to its potential. It is a X2 4400+ and is getting long in the tooth. Time to move to Quad on it, or wait for the E8500 to come to bear :rofl:

So many choices. I think the E8500 fits the bill better, 45nm for and air OC that has to be cool and will be a 24/7 rig. It has had about 4 hours off in the last year and a half ;)

i Got that exact same problem...... did you find a solution?
i to have bin running for 6 months whit other mobo's (maximus & 8800GTX, maximus & 3870 @ CF) whitout any problems, so it could only be the GFX ore the mobo.

Some suggestions people made, basicly it's either the psu or the ghost in the machine..

Yes I personally leave the CPU FSB jumper on default and it does detect 266 upon post as should. If you are getting something different perhaps flash to a later bios and do a long, hard cmos clear and start again after optimized defaults are loaded in the bios and see what happens.

It is being worked on. The monitoring software is from the chip manufacturer and thus the source code is not open for modification. DFI is trying to obtain access to it in order to fine-tune the utility for each board series.

They should just install a monitoring probe on each mobo and make the program respond differently for each probe/mobo.

Your the first person who has had similar problems, thanks for posting dMITIj! At this point I have narrowed the problem down to my graphics card. The reason I think this is because I've tried 2x other graphics cards (eVGA 8800GT and XFX 8800GTX) and I tried 1x other PSU (Antec TPQ 850w) and I couldn't reproduce the problem with any of that hardware, they all worked just fine! Besides testing that other hareware I also did many other things to try figureing out the issue with no luck.

With that said I contacted eVGA and talked with them about my problem and the testing I did. They agreed to RMA the card and my new replacment was shipped out yesterday (same day I contacted them) via cross-shipping and should arrive later this afternoon! Granted I paid for the privledge but it certainly beats waiting 2+ weeks with no card (this is why I love eVGA, their customer service has always been 110%)!

Now despite my graphics card issue this board is awesome! Like many it took me many reboots to get the BIOS somewhat figured out and to get my system stable at stock settings. I soon became comfortable with the BIOS (after lots of testing and lots of reading, thanks for Raja's article/review over at Anandtech) and realized the potential of this board! Despite my limited time with the board I'm already able to run considerably tighter timings (sub-timings as well) with less voltage and same speeds as I could with my 680i! This alone lowered my 32M SuperPI times well over 1min at 3.6Ghz, I was blown away! Granted this has lots to do with a new chipset but still over 1min is nothing to laugh at!

I don't think I'm anyway near the upper limits of this board yet and now that my semester is over I'll have the time to really push it!

just got myself a pair of WD raptors, i want to setup raid 0, which sata ports should i use? the Intel ICH9R or JMicron JMB363.?
