i saw some specs, and it looks like there's two different 1055T models. the HDT55TFBGRBOX is rated for 125w, and the HDT55TWFGRBOX is only 95w. what other differences are there besides the TDP? and i find that very strange that the higher wattage supposedly runs cooler than the lower wattage version. this kinda goes against the thermodynamic rules. when does the lower TDP model get launched? here is the comparison page.

Lower voltage allows for higher temps with the same stability not that the 95w really runs hotter but is just more tolerant of the heat.
Hopefully the HDT55TWFGRBOX will come out sooner than later. :sofa:
if they are the same parts, then there is normally lower leakage on the lower wattage that makes it run hotter even though it takes less power. lower leakage parts also tend to not clock as well. it would be interesting to see if its a real difference or if they are the same part and amd just missed the tdp rating of 125W and it was low enough to be in a lower bracket.
Wow, that seems very fast for next stepping. They must be getting amazing wafers for these things.

I the 965 140w and 125 had same default vcore value. The C3 revision was just a better process. I am not sure the 1055t 95w is a new rev, but if so the voltage may not change. anyone seen these in the wild?Quote:

That is justificable when you have a new Revision, but that is pretty improbable respecting Thuban. A previous example like this one would be the Toledo JH-E6 versions of the A64X2 4400+, ADA4400DAA6CD for 110W TDP and ADV4400DAA6CD for 89W TDP. I don't recall what the exact difference bewthem them were (If the Retail Heatsink was smaller, lower nominal Voltage, higher quality Bin, whatever), but they looked identical on paper with the TDP being the only apparent difference.Quote:

I don't think any of them are supposed to be that high. My 1090T is 1.3v at stock and I've seen others saying 1.325v or thereabouts.
How you figure lower frequency? They both are 2.8ghz right?Quote:

1055T 95W has voltages lower than 125W model.
Yes people,it's just binning.Over time,the 125W will be fazed out completely.Judging from the excellent yields AMD is getting with Thuban ,it's more sooner than later. Fitting 2 extra cores and loosing just 200Mhz (compared to 125W 965BE) while staying in the same 125W TDP bracket is nothing short of amazing-it's comparable to a whole process node shrink for that matter.
