EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper - Is this a joke or what?

I bought an EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper and this is what I've got form EVGA.

I opened the box, that wasn't opened before i did it, and took the graphics card out of the bag to find that the card is wet from what I think is non-conductive coolant. :shocked:

The next thing that I noticed was the missing 1/2" fittings that I need and that should be included in the box.

I have to connect the tubes to the top side of the card so all I have to do is to screw the fittings in the inlet and outlet on the top side.

Hmm... this doens't seem to be possible. :confused:

The opening for the fluid is only 10mm X 2mm and there are little pieces of plastic that block the already small inlet and outlet. If you screw one of the fittings in the block you don't have a 2mm opening anymore. :shakes:

Is this what you get if you buy one of the EVGA top products? :shrug:

But there are still a few problems.

How am I going to know what revision of the GTX 285 that they are going to give me so I could know what cooler would fit on it?

I thought it would be easier to buy one with the cooler already installed on the graphics card and the EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper looked like a good solution to avoid having a graphics card that isn't compatible with a full coverage block.

The EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper that they gave me is a different revision than the one on their website and the cooler that comes with the graphics card that they gave me isn't the same as the one on the website.

It's just a piece of crap that has cost me a lot of money.

Just get a 5870 for half the money and double the performance? ;)

Refund or replace it bro easy..

They are out now, check Newegg. EK and Swiftech have already posted they will have waterblocks really soon for them. Gabe has even commented having the unisinks out too for the GPU only crowd.

IIRC, the Nvidia 300 series will be out early next year if your not an ATI guy. As fast as Gabe and Eddy are getting the blocks out for the 5870, I'm certain those blocks will be hot on the heels of Nividia's cards too. :up:

Ive had that problem using the stock backplates on nvidia cards where the waterblock holes dont extend far enough past the backplate. I had to use a dremel and cut the backplate to get the fittings to work.

The EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper is on his way back to EVGA. :D

I'm going to wait for an answer from EVGA to see if they can give me one like the EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper on their website. When this isn't possible I'm going for a refund and wait for the GTX 380.

The reason I want a Nvidia graphics card and don't want an ATI is because I also use Linux and the support is a little better with Nvidia.

This would have been a little bit difficult with this card. I would also have to cut the PCB.

The first EVGA 280 GTX i got was DOA, the second one had also coolant in the plastic bag... I am not impressed either. I mean how difficult can it be to blow out the block after testing :rolleyes:

Btw, RMA for the first one took 5 weeks (plus shipping half around the globe).

I don't think I'm going to make it in five weeks. It took two and half months to RMA my G.SKILL memory that was also "Dead on arrival".

First I've got to ship it to my hardware dealer in Belgium. From there it has to go to the Netherlands. From the Netherlands to who knows what other countries around the globe before it's going to arrive at EVGA. :(

The EVGA support isn't as good anymore as you guys think.

They're trying to give me :banana::banana::banana::banana: for my money. :yepp:

Also the dutch company that has to ship the EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper to EVGA refuses to do it. They think that they and EVGA don't have to honor the EU law and that I can't ask for a refund till EVGA confirms that the graphics card is bad.

This is going to be difficult if they don't ship it to EVGA. :rolleyes:

I'll be back when I've got some more interesting news on this case.

But hey I'm an optimistic guy and I don't mind that it's going to take a very long time before I see a solution for my problem with this graphics card. I can always ask a Nvidia GT 300 graphics card when they are available. :D

With that said it sounds like the retailer you bought the card from is the real problem, they are the ones holding back the whole process (unless I'm misunderstanding things)? I don't know anything about EU law but why can't you just ship the card directly to eVGA (it would be much faster I imagine although I bet you would have to pay for the shipping yourself this way)? I would happily pay a bit extra for shipping to get the process moving faster given how frustrating it is just waiting around for this retailer or eVGA to get off their butts! I sometimes take it for granted how easy RMA's are because all of the hardware companies I deal with are based here in the States (at least their headquarters are) which makes RMA's much faster and easier to deal with! In anycase A-Grey I feel for you man, it would totally suck!

This is why you always pay using a credit card. If they give you :banana::banana::banana::banana:, you just call the CC and dispute the charges. You did not receive what you ordered. As the card sent to you was different from the one you ordered/defective.

Let me explain how things go in Belgium.


I order the stuff I want at a mail order company that's called MPL Mutlimedia Postorder Lijn in Belgium. They have to order the stuff from the distribution companies. For the EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper it was a company in the Netherlands.


What I did was from the moment I opened the box and discovered that it wasn't what I expected it to be, I mailed Geert the manager of MPL and wrote to him that EVGA gave me :banana::banana::banana::banana: instead of the graphics card that I expected. I also wrote about the soaked card and missing parts and all the other problems that come with the graphics card that EVGA has send to me.

He told me that I should send it back to him because the graphics card was DOA and he has to send it back to the company in the Netherlands who should ship it back to EVGA.


I have to send it back if I want a full refund within 8 days after purchase. I did that so no problem here.

At MPL they have to send it back to the company in the Netherlands. They did that the same day or the day after they received it. Still no problem here.

Now comes the problem the graphics card arrives at the company in the Netherlands that has to ship the card to EVGA and what do they do? - Nothing. It was still there yesterday.


Can I blame MPL for the problems with this RMA? - I don't think so.

They have been very helpful and always send a copy from the mails that they send to EVGA or the company in the Netherlands so I always know what's going on.


Let me tell you that I've been discussing the problems with someone from EVGA till I've got sick of repeating the same things and why they don't have to send me a replaced graphics card that is exactly the same as the one that they've send me earlier because I can't and won't use it with my watercooling setup. I was tired of repeating the same things that I've send a copy of the mails to David at MPL and told him that I didn't want to answer the questions anymore from the guy at EVGA.

David continued the discussion with the guy from EVGA. The guy from EVGA claimed that it was possible to use 1/2" fittings with the Innovatek cooler that came with the card. He also claimed to have a picture of it.

I tell you, the last time I checked my mail I didn't find that picture in my Inbox and neither did David from MPL.

All that the guy from EVGA gave us was bull:banana::banana::banana::banana:.

I asked the guy from EVGA to give me a graphics card like the one that you can see on their website. http://www.evga.com/articles/00464/http://www.evga.com/articles/00464/

This is what I ordered and wanted and not some other graphics card flashed with an EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper BIOS and a crappy Innovatek cooler that doesn't fit on the graphics card. http://www.webshop-innovatek.de/shop...r-Edition.html

But never did he gave me an answer on that question why he couldn't or wouldn't want me to give the graphics card that I ordered.

So I asked for a full refund because I didn't want the same graphics card anymore because it wasn't the one that I ordered.

David from MPL told EVGA that it would be better to give them a creditnote with the amount of money instead so they could give me a full refund.

We didn't hear anything anymore from EVGA but we've got an answer back from the company in the Netherlands that they couldn't do that and didn't want it to do.

David wrote to EVGA:

We remind you that “hidden defects” are subject to the European warranty law and legislation regarding hidden product defects, and the customer (consumer) is entitled to receive full reimbursement of all costs involved or replacement by a product that does meet the stated specifications if the product is not as advertised within the first 6 months of delivery.

Under EU consumer warranty low the manufacturer is carrying the burden to prove the customer’s wrong doing during the first 6 months after invoicing of an article to the end user – as all defect occurring within the first six months are automatically considered production errors.

This warranty can NOT be limited by any disclaimers that are not compliant to the law.

After the first 6 months the burden of proof will transfer to the end user. Hidden defects such as this one are NOT limited by such period.

That's when the company in the Netherlands said that they don't have to do that because EVGA is an American company and they don't have to follow the EU law.

Maybe EVGA that is an American company doesn't have to do that but the company in the Netherlands has to do it. Because the last time that I checked the Netherlands was still an European country. :D


And that's when I've got mad and wrote the company in the Netherlands to stop writing bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: and find a solution for my graphics card problem.

I didn't hear from them again but I think that they understood what I wrote to them and wouldn't like to see their company name in this thread. :yepp:

Thanks very much A-Grey for clearly explaining the whole situation, I have a much better understanding now of what the problem is! Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place, its like you have no control over the situation no matter what you do (especially since it seems like you have done everything you could do)! You didn't mention the name of this company in the Netherlands or what the business is but I don't understand what they have to gain by not supporting you by shipping your card back to eVGA (I assume its because they don't want to loose money)? Its very surprising that ever after receiving that message from David at MPL their still refusing to help out (I wonder if eVGA is telling them to do nothing or if their making this decision on their own)? Most companies are willing to loose a little money in order to have a happy customer (along with that customers future sales) so it makes no sense to me. Its not even my card or problem and its frustrating me so I can't imagine how you must feel, what a bummer! Please continue to keep us updated if you can because I'm very interested in how this all works out!

The company in the Netherlands is a hardware distributor. I won't tell their company name because I want them to give the chance to fix the problem but I will if I don't see a solution that can satisfy me.

They don't want to loose money neither does EVGA but they don't care that I loose my 523 Euro on a crappy graphics card.

So if I don't see a solution that can satisfy me I'm going to edit my post and put their company name instead of the company from the Netherlands and it doesn't matter to me if this is going to be bad for their business because they don't really care that EVGA gave me :banana::banana::banana::banana: for my money.

I think that is the best way to handle the situation instead of crapping all over this company (especially since your still trying to get service from them)! If this company doesn't end up helping you out than I'll do my best to help spread the word about their poor customer service, lol!

I forgot to say something about that company in the Netherlands. They are saying that there is nothing wrong with the graphics card and cooler that EVGA gave me but they did remove the EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper from their EVGA graphics card list on their website. :rolleyes:

Funny, why should they remove it when these graphics cards aren't bad? :confused:

A-Grey, the situation is much simpler than you think it is. In the EU your purchasing contract is with MPL in Belgium. They are the ones who are obligated by law to give you a refund. What they do behind the scenes to pass on responsibility is completely irrelevant to you as a consumer and the laws that protect you.

Wo man you guys overseas really get borked sometimes huh? I hear about this all the time. you guys need a good EU shop with great support because that region is bigger than this one and there is far more money to be made, hell If i had the money to start an operation like that I would because I have seen so damn many of these threads on so many diff forums especially this year. maybe a drop shipping comany for hardware or somehing would workout idk. you guys deserve the same service we get over here its not right that things like this happen at all. man this really burns my ass that I keep seing posts like this everywhere.

Of course I don't fully understand everything but as cx-ray mentioned above the law is very clear regarding situations like yours A-Grey. As far as the law is concerned you shouldn't have to deal with anyone other than the retailer you delt with on the original purchase (and it really doesn't matter whether MPL gets reimbursed or not because the law is to protect consumers). I was actually very impressed by the way EU law has an emphasis on protecting the consumer, now I'm curious how our own law here in the States compares (I have a feeling that there is less emphasis on protecting the end-user consumer than there is with EU law)?

overclocking101-Although I can't say this with certainty it certainly seems like there is more of this in the marketplace (on both sides of the Atlantic), I imagine it has to due with the economic downturn everyone everywhere is facing (these retailers are tightening their belts just like everyone else). However that doesn't mean its right for them to do this but that is probably the main reason for it?

I know that MPL should give me the refund and that isn't the problem. The problem is that EVGA wants to give me a new EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper with the Innovatek Cooler so there is no need for a refund.

What am I going to do with a graphics card that comes with a cooler that I can't connect to my watercooling setup? :shrug:

The same service is impossible. The problem isn't the retailers it's the distributors. They don't care if you have to wait weeks or months before you see a solution for your problem.

It's all about money. The shipping costs are to big to send one piece of hardware back to the manufacturer so they wait till there are enough pieces to ship or new pieces of hardware arrive to give you a new one.

I know that I can ask my money back when there is no solution for the problem but I think that the retailer also has the right to look for an alternative solution before he is going to give you your money back.

It isn't so easy in the EU. The consumer is well protected but who is responsible?

If you look at this: Certain standards exist for assessing when conformity can be assumed and when not. If the goods are not delivered in conformity with the sales contract, consumers can ask for the goods to be repaired, replaced, and reduced in price or for the contract to be rescinded. The final seller, who is responsible to the consumer, can also hold the producer liable in their business relationship.


That's why it takes such a long time before you see a solution in the EU. They are always arguing about who is responsible.

but, it's usually pretty well known which outcome its going to be. in the USA if you buy an EVGA card, you know your not going to get screwed... if you buy some random obscure card you can't ever be to sure.

i think most people pay for that online goods with credit cards. most of the time once you do that, a company will try to fix the problem to.

You guys are right. But in my case this is the EU.


Here's something else that's very interesting.

EU consumer protection laws are always applicable when a business seller sells to consumers residing in the EU, regardless from where he is operating his business (e.g. US, China, Hong Kong, etc.).


So when the distributor claims that EVGA is a US company and they don't have to honor the EU law, he's very wrong.

There is no doubt that EVGA is the one to blame for causing the trouble with the EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper because they violated several rules from the EU law.

So when David from MPL asked the distributor to give them a credit note for the amount that was INVOICED so they can give me a full refund, he had the right to do it.

When the distributor told them that they aren't responsible for the problem and that they don't have to do anything he was also wrong because he is the one that is responsible for making this product available on the EU market and also violates the EU law.


Let's look back at this one: Certain standards exist for assessing when conformity can be assumed and when not. If the goods are not delivered in conformity with the sales contract, consumers can ask for the goods to be repaired, replaced, and reduced in price or for the contract to be rescinded. When David from MPL told EVGA that the customer is king, he's also very right.

I'm king and I decide what I want to pay for the damage that they caused. This can be a full refund, a EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper that meets the specs listed on their website, a lower price (Not applicable because what am I going to do with graphics card that I can't use for myself) or ask what ever I want to pay for the damage that they caused me.

Maybe I'm going to have a EVGA GTX 3XX Hydro Copper after all. :D


Geert the manager from MPL wants to give me one of their graphics cards to use for the time that I have to wait for my new graphics card to arrive.

Why would I want to ask my money back to them because I don't want to wait for a solution for the RMA? :shrug:

MPL is the only one that I trust to buy my computer components. I don't think that you'll find another one in Belgium that can give you the service that they give. They give you the support you need that you should have from the manufacturer. :yepp:

But of course if you can't have this service from your retailer your screwed and can wait a long time in the EU before you see your precious hardware back. :(

You said you sent the card back with-in 8 days of taking delivery. In that case it's simple. You can demand a full refund based on the law for purchase over a distant location. No reason has to be given. Just a change of mind is sufficient to qualify.

In Dutch: Wet kopen op afstand (has to be sent back within 7 working days - hope you didn't wait until 8).

Edit again...it gets even better: when a retailer doesn't notify you of this law, your 7 day period to send stuff back will begin from the moment you're made aware of this law by your retailer.

No, they got it back within 7 days. There is no doubt that I can get a full refund.


What I would like to know is if EVGA can sell there EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper with a different cooler that doesn't have the specs that they listed on there website without breaking the EU law? :confused:

There's no way you can know that you won't get what you saw on their website. There's nothing on the box that can give you an idea of what you are going to find in the box. The words Hydro Copper is just a sticker that they put on the box.

Can they sell it to us europeans without violating the EU law or did they find a backport to make it possible and screw us? :shrug:

Ideally A-Grey what would you like to happen, do you just want a refund or do you simply want the card you initially thought you were buying (the one pictured on the website)?

This sounds stupid but I didn't even think about that Waterlogged but that is probably the most likely answer to what happened here (after reading your post above I browsed over to eVGA's site, just as you mention they do indeed mention that). I guess its the only way to protect themselves against situations like this. With that said its still dissapointing when your the one who gets a product that doesn't match the one you thought you were buying (with regards to both looks and specifications)!

They can do what they want if it's still the same quality. This graphics that they gave me isn't worth the money (523 Euro) with the cooler it came. I think that I don't have to say that I feel like they've ripped me off.

It would certainly ruin the performance of my Swiftech 1/2" watercooling setup and I would have to use elbows to connect the tubes on the bottom side.

Elbows that was the solution that EVGA would have given me. :shakes:

Your absolutly correct A-Grey, even if you could shoehorn 1/2" barbs onto that block it would be a massive restriction given how small the block openings are (like most Invotek blocks in my opinion, their mostly for 1/4" line).

. . .because they reserve the right to change product specifications (for better or worse) without any prior notification. This means they don't have to tell a single living soul that the product on their site "may" be different than shown. Again, it's always in the fine print somewhere to cover their asses in situations like this.

Here's what makes this case so difficult.

If the EU law sees the blocked inlet and outlet as a hidden defect, it gives every citizen in Europe the right to bring his EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper that came with an Innovatek cooler back to his retailer and ask for a full refund or his graphics card to be replaced, whenever he wants to do that.


And than EVGA is going to be in a lot of :banana::banana::banana::banana:.

It may be a lot less hassle if you sell the block on ebay, kapaza.be or tweedehands.be, and then just buy an EK block.

This isn't possible. You can't use a different cooler on that graphics card. I don't think that it's a Nvidia reference design.

So you can't sell the Innovatek cooler because it won't fit on a different graphics card. These are especially designed for EVGA but someone screwed it up. This can be Innovatek but I think it's EVGA because if it was Innovatek they would have to replace the inlet and outlet so it extends further on the graphics card. :shrug:

I have 2 of the HC's for the 285FTW. I bought the blocks separately from the cards though. Looking at your pictures it seems that you have the 2nd rev of the 285, I am pretty sure in thinking they didn't even make a backplate for the original 285's, one of the screw holes is in a different place. Also, I don't think EVGA offered a block for the 2nd revisions.

Pity you never got your card fired up, as I very much doubt it had the 720Mhz clock speed! Anyways, that definately isn't the block EVGA used for the rev 1 285's.

I smell a rat, and that rat looks like your vendor, or whoever they buy their EVGA products from.

By now I think I would have gotten whatever card I wanted and written off the other as a loss. The time this has taken is way too aggravating.

Poking through the options available at that link I had a thought. I opened all the 01G-P3-1290-** PDF's and after careful inspection, came to the conclusion that anything ending in ER is for European Retail and anything ending in AR is American Retail. Maybe if you specify that you want a AR, things "might" get settled to your satisfaction. :shrug:

That must be a block just for the European market, as this is the one I've got http://www.evga.com/products/moreInf...1&family=Hydro Copper Waterblocks.

It seems sadly, that EVGA in Europe is nowhere near the company it is over here. Even reading their forums one often comes across people having issues with them.

I've never bought anything with the block already in situ, as I like to be able to revert back to stock if necessary.

I did that but I didn't get an answer on my question from EVGA. All that they were saying is that it's possible to use 1/2" fittings, witch I doubt it is, and that they could send those to me.

So I said "no thank you" because I don't want that graphics card with the Innovatek cooler.

You are right. You have ER (European), AR (American) and BR (Complete computer systems).

I did say to the guy that I want an AR version but he never said that this could be done.

i believe eVGA also sells the HC blocks seperately, so if you're sure its the eVGA PCB... take that instead of the EK.

I know but with all these GTX 285 revisions you can end up with a graphics card that isn't compatible with a full coverage block and I don't think that you can send it back for that reason.

That's why I said I doubted it was the 720 Mhz card, as that has been discontinued for quite a while. I was looking for a 3rd one a while back and drew a blank.

If you plan to go down the route of getting your own block, you have to check the revision of your PCB. It would be great if it is a rev 1, as I think they are way better cards:p:

The distributor and EVGA don't want to replace the graphics card. They're saying that a soaked card isn't worth a RMA and they don't see any other problems that doesn't meet the specs like what you can find on their website.

Everyone has that in their fine print, but it's pretty much always overturned as unenforceable in a court of law. Same as parking lots that say they're not liable for damage to your car -- they say that so you don't sue them, but if you do, the judge almost always rules that disclaimer of liability to be null and void.

If there's one thing that I learned from all of this it's that you have to ask the P/N to EVGA before you buy anything. Because if I would have done that and look for the pdf of that P/N I should have known that it's not what I expected it to be

You're right because that's probably the next thing that's going to happen when MPL gives me the refund.

David from MPL told them that he's going to take "further steps".

If I understand this correctly I think he means that they're going to court with all the information that they've got or at least contact their lawer to see what can be done.

What a total bummer A-Grey, it really sucks that you have had to deal with all this crap over a graphics card! I really thought eVGA would come through and support you (the customer) despite all the fine print, it doesn't make any sense that their so unwilling to make this right? I have truly had nothing but excellent service from them, from regular customer service inquires to cross-shipping RMA's? I'm just thankful that at the very least you'll be getting a refund, after all the crap they have put you through its probably best to get another card from another vendor anyway? Damn that sucks.....No eVGA GPU's...Check! I went through something similar with XFX. I can understand your frustration.

I had 1 bad experience with eVGA and it the whole experience pretty much turned me off to them and I have never purchased another one of their products since.

I had purchased the 8800 GTX Superclocked Edition AC-3 and within a year of having it the card died so I go to get an RMA and then I'm told that I had to register the card on the website within 30 days of purchasing the card to get the warranty. So I look all over the box to see where it states that I had to do this, nothing on the outside of the box, nothing in the manual, nothing on any of paperwork inside. You know where I found it? On the inside of the flap of the box in small faded blue lettering.

I don't know what kinda shady non sense that was but that was the first and last time I ever bought an eVGA product.

I don't know what other peoples experience with them has been but that was mine, and NEVER again.

I've been contacted by someone from EVGA America to ask me if the problem is already solved now.

From what he wrote to me I can see that the guy from EVGA Europe didn't just tell me and my seller a lot of bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: he also lied to EVGA by saying that this problem is already solved. :yepp:

I think that he's going to have a lot of explaining to do in the next days.


I'm not really sure what's going on here but I think that for some reason the guy from EVGA Europe doesn't want to see that card coming back to EVGA.

Could he be the rat or are there two because the smell is very strong and I think that the distributor also has some explaining to do now. :yepp:

Yes, I could explain him what's happening here. He's going to show it to the upper manager because this should have been soved a long time ago.

lWhat the guy from EVGA Europe suggests to use elbows and connect the tubes with a 90° difference isn't possible in a ATX case. There's not enough space between the graphics card cooler fittings and the side panel to properly connect the tubes and how should I connect my second graphics card in the same loop to use for Physx.

It's just like I said before this cooler isn't designed to use in a 1/2" watercooling setup and they don't mention that anywhere.

Any reasonable person would believe they were ordering the part in the picture.
The pdf under the ER part number also shows the AR part.

Did you actually look at the picture from MPL?

This is a picture of the EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper as it is advertised on the website from EVGA.

The part number is for the European model (if we can call it that).

You can ask why they still didn't change it. It's very simple no told them that this product isn't exactly the same as what you can see on the picture. EVGA should have done that 6 months before they sold the first graphics card with a different cooler.

Like I said officially there is no different EVGA GTX 285 Hydro Copper and if there was nothing wrong with the one that I've got from them they should have said that from day one and I shouldn't have to write all these posts and mails on the forum, to MPL, to the distributor and to EVGA.

Do you honestly think that someone from EVGA America is going to bother the upper manager from EVGA when there's nothing wrong? :confused:

Heh, I guess I just do a lot more research than most reasonable ppl. :shrug: I'll Google a part number for days if not weeks to get all the info I can on that part before I order it online. While that may be the smart thing to do, no one should have to do it when they're ordering from a reputable company.

When a company puts a picture with a part number, the pic represents the part unless otherwise noted.

evga is willfully and intentionally defrauding their European customers in this case.

You've got a point on this one but there's still no garuantee that you're going to have what you expected to have. That isn't a problem if it doesn't affect the quality or specifiication of the product.

I don't think that we can speak of the same quality or specification with this graphics card.

man, this whole process of RMA with EVGA Europe really sucks!!!!
I know there is always going to be issues but it doesn't help when you had to wait for so long to get it resolved.
I'm just glad that I have only had to RMA one item so far and it was through BFG and that went ok.

One week later and still no solution.

How difficult can it be to say how they are going to solve this problem? :shrug:


It isn't the long waiting for a solution that's getting on my nerves. It's not knowing when or how they are going to resolve it.

I should've waited for the next generation Nvidia graphics cards it should have saved my a lot of headaches. :shakes:

Just wondering why aren't you asking for your money back? You're legally entitled to it under your local consumer laws.

On a personal account, I had a similar experience about a year ago with a retailer that couldn't deliver either. I waited and waited. In the end my hardware was outdated. It's just not worth it.

I already told my seller that if the new generation Nvidia cards are available that I don't want it anymore because it's going to be outdated and not worth the money anymore.

And i can tell you first hand that some of the upper managament at EVGA have been made aware of this

Maybe you can show me where I can find the specifications for the European model because I can't find it and neither does MPL.

But you are right if I or MPL should've looked at the P/N we could have known that it would be a different cooler but you can't see on that small picture what the specifications are or that the top inlet and outlet can't be used to connect the tubes.


For me there is only one to blame and that's EVGA. The cooler on the European model doesn't meet the specifications as advertised by EVGA. Did the upper management know that? :shrug:

Maybe at EVGA Europe but I don't think they knew that at EVGA America.


So if MPL is to blame why doesn't EVGA tells me that so I can ask my money back and don't have to wait anymore for some genius to come with a solution? :shrug:

No and I don't know how they are going to resolve it. I don't mind that I have to wait a long time but I would like to know how they are going to resolve so I know what to expect in the near future.

Are you trying to say that my retailer is responsible for the fact that EVGA has put that cooler that on their graphics card. :confused:

We all know that it's a different cooler and that isn't really the problem. The problem is that this cooler doesn't meet the specification that you think it would be.


Look at the pictures and tell me if this is what you want to connect to your 1/2" watercooling setup.

You could use 90° fittings, splitters to connect your old card for PhysX and don't put your side panel back on your case because you can't close it anymore. :rolleyes:

I agree.... but the right thing to do would be to ship him the proper "AR" card that he wanted and they advertised to begin with.

evga will loose more money in missed sales because of threads like these, than they would have by replacing the card with what was advertised. :shakes:
