    Thank you for the confirmation. On socket 775 is the orientation similar in that the outlet should be closest to the bank of I/O ports?

    I honestly don't know about 775 since I only tested this block on i7.
    A 775's die is completely different from an i7's so I can't give you an estimate. I can suggest one of two courses of action, though:

    1. Test it.
    2. Don't bother. The temp difference is going to be minimal anyway.
