    [Computex 2010]SilverStone FT03

Pictures from chiphell of the SilverStone FT03

Product Manager Tony Ou from Silverstone Technology reveals the Fortress FT03. Based on the same ideas and concepts to be found in the Raven series, the Fortress FT03 has all the I/O ports facing up. The case can support the longest graphic cards (12.2" is used as an example) with ease, and the streamlined cooling enables the use of a full size CPU cooler. The actual desktop footprint is tiny compared to other Micro-ATX form factor chassis. If you want the ultimate Micro-ATX case that looks like a laundry box,

I think it looks great. A case that was finally designed from the bottom up for MATX / miniATX. However, if the dimensions are too similar to my P182, that will kill all motivation to buy it.

The fan positioning is a bit cluttered, but I'm sure you could remove some of them; a lot of the shrouds look like they're held in place by screws. I guess they're going for that vertical flow thing again. A corsair H50 or ECO would be great for this system.

It does, but I bet those three fan shrouds can be removed.

the fans seem like only half do anything, not sure where the one over the gpu gets air from, or the angled one next to the psu, the one above it seems like its just pulling air form the side and forcing it up.

i do like the size, but i dont see an optical drive?

Its just venting the air out top.

Same opening that the psu vents air out of.

I wonder that myself. But above the psu and below the fan I'm sure is it. The silver line on side of the case is opening and there is a little silver button.

Over all, I like the case, now lets see if hooked up to monitor and with the wires popping out.

kinda like it actually, although I hope those 180mm fans can bring enough air into the case.

I'm not likin it too much functionality wise. Maybe I'm old fashioned in my thinking, but I like big ass cases with lots of room inside. I think it's admirable that companies are trying to innovate, but sometimes keeping things classic and simple is the best way to go. I'm much more interested in seeing EVGA and Coolermaster's new SR2 certified cases.

its actually an incinerator. see you put in a few 480s in SLI, and that top tray is where you ball up pieces of trash paper, and the intense heat coming out of the gpus will set the paper on fire, leaving no evidence. every office should have one of these in the next few years

I have seen it all now. You can now effectively overclock a trashbin.

See I just dont get why Silverstone are doing stuff like this.... PC cases DONT NEED to be innovative. They need to be attractive, efficient at cooling and easy to use/install hardware into, this looks like an absolute pain in the bollock to use. Theres a reason why the normal ATX spec has been around for long and it's because it JUST WORKS.

Silverstone, please take your silly rotated mobo trays, your hideous amounts of plastic, your silly trash bin cases, lock them in a vault and throw away the key..... then give us a REAL successor to the TJ07.

    Ta very much.

its actually nice...small footprint unlike the tj07 which eats up alot of space...full size psu and single video card...thats functional enough for me..

my opinion, fix the fans that seem pointless, and make it look a little more appealing, give it a window. and it would be very nice. not everyone needs a dozen 5 1/2" bays in the front, and this fits larger GPUs, which seems to be more common these days.

5850xfire with a H50 for cpu cooling, this case is win/win (if it was black and a side panel)
