7. Swiftech Apogee - 45USD - The newest block from Swiftech that takes a step backwards in performance. It is essentially a MCW5000 respun with a new manufacturing process (cheaper), and new delrin top. While Swiftech says its the best thing since sliced bread and Television, please try to avoid it as EVERY other block on this list performs superior to the Apogee.

i truly think you guys need to revoke that statement.

whomever tried or read about it and made that statement either had a bad block, bad fitting, bad loop, or just didnt have a clue.

i have had 5 different swiftech blocks, all of them improved on the last, and to compare the Apogee to an MCW5000 without a doubt 100% proves that you have neither used it, nor know what your doing.
the MCW5000 is one of the most worthless blocks ive ever had the displeasure of owning. and i am appauled that your guys would compare it to it.

considering the Storm is only SLIGHTLY better, let me repeat that SLIGHTLY better, then you must say the same thing about the storm.

when its all said and done the apogee can hang in there with the most expensive blocks around, and its been proven time and time again that it can.

it works well off low flow and high flow pumps as i have tried both, and am trying a new one this weekend which will be on the mid to high flow range.

i really think you guys need to put it on the recommended list, not the do not buy list, how many times does it need to be proven as a very good and competative block before you change the statement on the 1st page?

And the MCW5002 is slightly better than the 5000 with properly fitted 1/2" barbs. I do say, at a cost to "the cutting edge performance", the MCW5002 is the block of blocks. In fact, unless the mounting area shrinks substantially (which I doubt it will within years), the MCW5002 will always be able to be used with any system with simple modifications (i.e., making a simple "frame" and punching two or four holes in the correct spots).

There are many good blocks out there, and the differences between them are tiny, usually. However people don't see this and buy expensive stuff that actually might not be ideal for their situation. To truly tap the full potential of a better block, you need insane pumping power. And its not like the kind of pumping power that comes from adding a pump. You need tons of flow to see a big difference between 2 blocks that are pretty close together. And many blocks are pretty close together...

guys, I will be updating the list relatively soon. just havnt had tim to get around to it.

apogee is a dead block now.. no point in discussing it. the apogee gt is good for quad core, but the fuzion, from what we have seen still performs better.

I really don't know any good websites for buying cases, all I really use is Newegg.

There are very cases that has hold radiators without hardly any modding. One is the Mountain Mods UFO case (mountainmods.com) which can hold a Pa/He 120.3 withouth any modding in the front.

Check out the Stacker Slacker threat in the Computer Cases forum. A lot of people, including me, installed water cooling with little or no modding.

Stacker is not that good for watercooling though I feel. Not if you must use all the drive bays anyway. I managed to fit a MCP 655, MCW60, Apogee with 1/2" tubing but my god it´s hairy. And it wouldn´t work without heavilly modding if I didn´t fit the radiator outside the case. As it´s I am mm from crushing both my X-fi and 8800 GTX.

However about these additives. I don´t know if I run a mixed metal loop or not.

I have the Swiftech apogee, mcw60 and mcr330 rad. What additives would I need?

What does everyone think of the Aqua Computer Cuplex XT blocks and the Aquagrafx XT 8800GTX? I have a Cuplex XT coming and eventually two AquaGrafx XT 8800GTX blocks and a TwinPlex Pro XT chipset block. Anyone here have any experience with those components?

The Cuplex XT is a poor choice for dual core IHS' topped blocks, and I have to say that I dislike all of AquaComputers products due to their use of high restriction everything, mixing aluminum and copper and lastly the use of thermaly ineffecient desings (usually).

I have E6600, P5W DH Deluxe, and today I got my new Eddy water cooling for E6600 and NB. Since then I got one problem after another.
I bought Laing 12V DDC-1T, that isnt't working. Then I wanted to set up CPU block. Eddy forgot to send me fitting mechanism (I was in 8 different shops to get nedeed parts) At last I set up CPU block fine!

That hasn't been fixed yet? I had exactly the same problem with the exact samee NB block on my P5WDH way back last year, but with some select work with a dremel I cut channels out of the acetal so that the scew in hook could fit through, clamp down well and not touch the Acetal and also the mobo hooks didn't touch either.

Yes I have 2 solutions- one is to drill a biger hole, another is to put somethink under the block.

Sorry I don't, I mod more stuff than I leave as standard, so I very rarely take pictures tbh. I stopped using the cooler ages ago and have changed boards twice since then.

Thanx anyway! I got an idea use peltier to lift block for few mm, but my PSU woudnt be enought (HD 2900 XT uses a lot of enegy, and my Enermax 500W wouldn't be enought) Now I'm trying to get wery smooth any flat Cu plaquue about 3mm hight and 40x40mm. Anyway, tenx for the idea!
