I posted the same thing about a month ago. The chips are powerchips. I've been able to get them to 800 4-4-4-12 with 2.08v.

It seems that higher vdimm didn't help, and actually hindered. And I wasn't able to do better on tras.

Total, I recall the limit I saw being around 850mhz stably.

edit: most people seem to be doing a little bit better than me though and do see results with more vdimm than I have

    powerchips are promos????

what is their max safe voltage??

    thanks for you quick answer

EDIT: i can't find your pic. can yo link it to me?

EDIT2: already found it. seen people reaching around 450-480 at 2,3 or less volts.
but i don't know what voltage is safe for them.
these results are very similar to the ones i achieved with geil ultra 800 (UDC)
they did 475 4-4-4-12 2,2V and 508 5-5-5-12 2,2V. muybe new geil ultras are powerchips

i havenīt tried yet serious overclock,
but i can do 800 at 1,95 totally stable at 4-4-4-12
2,2-2,3V is safe for these mems, if i actively cool them?

Can you tell me if OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Platinum SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel (OCZ2N10662GK)

    Have D9GMH or D9GKX?

    And something else..

The differences of OCZ2N1066SR2GK and OCZ2N10662GK are only the heatspreaders?

    Thanx

well i have now done some overclock to these KVR with powerchips.
the results are very very similar to the ones I obtained with muy geil ultra (orange).
    i can do 475 4-4-4-12 @ 2,2V al least 32m pi-stable and
520 5-5-5-15 @ 2,2 no stable at all, so 500 will be stable.

    kingston uses brainpower pcb??

I have just purchased the Corsair CMX512-8500 1GB kit. The code on the heatspreader is XMS 8505 v1.4. These are not listed on corsair DDR2 IC list. What IC's are used on my ram?

Yup, just like the ones I have 4GB of. The max I got was 900mhz on 4-4-4-12 (1:1 ratio) on 2.10v - but since my mobo died from trying a BIOS update, I haven't moved from he generic BIOS of my P5B
It was a long road and one that is now over. Behold the updatedrig:

    NEC MultiSync LCD20WGX2 20.1" Widescreen // Antec P182 GunMetal // OCZ StealthXstream 700w // Gigabyte EP45-UD3P //

    60GB OCZ Vertex 2 // 600GB WD VelociRaptor (WD6000HLHX)// 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F1 (HD103UJ) // RED Saitek Eclipse //
    3x Sanyo-Denki 102.5cfm 120x38mm fan // 1x Delta 80cfm 80mm fan in modified 5.25" bay "Flipped" Sunbeam Rheobus //
1x Antec Tricool 120mm fan // 1x RED Akasa System Exhaust fan // RED Sunbeam Meteor lights // RED Razer Diamondback //

    Hi everyone
got this mem recently, it was quite a cheap. OCZ DDR2 PC2-5400 Gold GX XTC Dual Channel 2 GB kit, nominal is 1.8/667/4-4-4-12. Currently stable on 3-3-3-9 with 2.0 and 1.9v, not really sure about stability @ 1.8v, no real testing was run on this voltage, but rig is able to start win then definitely
Any ideas of what the chips are there? Google, http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/ - doesn't seem to know what the chips are.. I can't check myself, because i'm not sure that i'll be able to get heatspreader back so it wont be noticeable that i removed it... but chips are pretty small(NOT BT-3 definitely), 10*11 mm or about so, longer side perpendicular to mobo.
And last, is this mem a real crap? will I be able to reach 450 fsb 1:1 with it on a P5B Dlx? Or i'd better begin thinking of changing it for something better?
    Thnx for any answers.

I got confirmation from corsair that my 8500 modules are micron IC's. All current 8500 modules use micron IC's.

Not really. They're 12x10mm, 60-ball ICs binned at DDR2-533 4-4-4 by Micron and are mainly used on value RAM.

Most likely ProMOS. Fits the description and is often used by OCZ.
In case of OCZ only memory with a rating of PC2-7200 or higher uses Micron.

ProMOS sure is able to run at 450MHz. Even 500+MHz is possible.

What about G.Skill F2-8500CL5D-2GBHK, I have 4 of these 1GB sticks and on the chips it says Ballistix 0732-25F , I emailed g.skill they said either GMH or GKX,,, is there a way to tell which it is.

These are somewhat older G.Skill modules as they're simply Crucial Ballistix with a facelift.

As the ICs say '-25F' you have Micron D9Gxx binned at 400MHz (DDR2-800). This could in fact be either D9GMH or D9GKX.
There's no way of telling which one it is, but it doesn't really matter.

Thanks r00n, what does binned at 400MHz mean? I guess it's DDR2 800 thats clock to 1066MHz? That would explain why I have a hard time overclocking it at all? It runs fine 4-4-4-8 @ 1000MHz, but always memtest errors if I raise the MHz ~1160 on the next divider.

-E- the chips are 10.0x10.0mm if that helps.

It means Crucial (Micron) successfully tested the IC at a speed of 400MHz (DDR2-800).
This doesn't necessarily mean the IC won't do higher speeds, proven by the fact that it's used in a PC2-8500 kit.

    I guess it's DDR2 800 thats clock to 1066MHz?
All PC2-8500 memory is actually overclocked PC2-6400, because the latter is the highest DDR2-specification designed by JEDEC.

That would explain why I have a hard time overclocking it at all?
No, I don't think it's that simple. Crucial Ballistix PC2-6400 overclocks pretty good and they use the same -25F ICs.

It runs fine 4-4-4-8 @ 1000MHz, but always memtest errors if I raise the MHz ~1160 on the next divider.
Try running it at 5-5-5-15. Clockspeed is more important than timings and you will need looser timings to gain a higher clockspeed.
Use a higher voltage if necessary, but try not to go over 2.3V for too long. Also put a fan over the modules.

-E- the chips are 10.0x10.0mm if that helps.
No, that doesn't help. Both Micron D9GMH and D9GKX are 10x10mm.
