il just wait that extra week to find out for real.
and i doubt wel have any problems of findingout how wel each grafix card does in Oblivion as i think alot of Review sites will put Oblivion in their benchmark suite once its released.

hhmm.. my 1900XTX is suppose to arrive from taiwan in about 2 days time.
still trying to find for a good deal on the GTX or the GT...
i can only find MSI GTX and GTs here. dun really noe how reputable they are
hehe at last darksythe! u wont be wrong with the x1900xtx .. and u surely gonna beat my record
Intel Core i7 870,
MSI P55 GD65,
4x 2048mb DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator,
Sapphire 5870,
Corsair HX850W,
2x 640GB WD sata II,
1x 1TB WD Sata III,
where are u getting ur WC kit from?
so rare in malaysia. and how much of coz
That score, seriously you think X850XT PE would be 1 single FPS behind next gen refresh 7900GT which is faster than next gen 7800GTX which you gotta admit is a lot faster than X850XT PE.
Btw... I can't really help you out much. (I'm having the same dilemma.) But I try to think like this, if a single X1900XTX isn't enough, one could always get a new mobo in the future for a second X1900XTX or CF.
Doesn't this realize in a substantial performance loss? On the other hand, I'm not too familiar with ATI chipsets... how big is difference for X190XT CF on RD580 vs RD480?Originally Posted by n00b 0f l337
The PERFECT explanation for why X850 ~= 7900 is found!
The SM3.0 path probably is more CPU intensive than the SM2.0 path. Remember X850 doesn't support SM3.0
oh man
Dude, was that a joke? Rather being limited to SM2.0 would make the X850 even slower. SM3.0 was not to add much content in Oblivion (other than HDR, which is off here), rather just increase performance (I'm sure I read this in their forums, but they are down at the moment ). Now I don't know about CPU utilization, but I still believe those "scores" to be fake, fake, fake. They may be very, very close, but I seriously doubt the X850XTPE vs 7900GT.Originally Posted by Shadowmage
No, the SM2.0 path definately features shorter shaders, as numberous OFFICIAL interviews have pointed out.

X1900xtx does fair better in single card at higher resolutions but nVidia Sli doesn't slouch
you got that frm an nvidia website, and you've got nvidia plastered all over you.Originally Posted by Mesce

Probably going to be like FEAR. At first leaked beta benchmarks show ATI 100% faster than nVidia. Then when game is released reviews show ATI 30% nVidia. Finally, when ATI fixes some bug, they are even again. Afterall with both ATI/nVidia very close in features, mem bandwidth, pixel fillrate, geometry rate, etc.. and limitations of CPU/RAM/chipset, it would truely be unusual for one to be MUCH faster than the other.

But we will have to see Official benchmarks first

Therefore, one can surmise from this information that this is the WORST X1900 can do against 7900, aka it usually does much, much better.
If the opposite was true, NVIDIA would have posted benchmarks at a different configuration to get one where 7900 beats X1900 in all cases. Obviously this is not possible.

I think when u step back from the benchmarks and get into actually playing games, it really comes down 2 what games you want 2 play doesn't it?Originally Posted by ***Deimos***

I have the 7900GTX. I wanted the 1900XTX because you can raise the voltage VIA Software. the 7900GTX is real nice. I score a 11170 in 3dmark05 with my current computer stats. Its not too bad.

for gaming single X1900XTX and 7900GTX are about even it seems... oc'd now that's a different story out of the box X1900XT has adjustable voltages via software so for a person who can't volt mod (like me) X1900XTX seems like a better choice

eva2000,
I agree 900% with you, but try explaining to some folks. After seeing 50 graphs with difference maybe 1-3fps, they find one with big difference and make HUGE issue out of it.

Pretty even i'd say. The fact that the 7900GTX runs cooler, quieter and requires less power appeals to me the most though.
Are there any decent after market air coolers worth getting for the x1900?
Both are great cards. Got me a XFX 7900 GTX today (another for SLI soon). Card is awesome. Quiet, runs cool (about 39C idle) in a warm room, no problems yet (i'e lockups stressed). Haven't overclocked yet.....be doing that later. I'll probably have some screenies soon.
