OPPAINTERs early G70 watercooled results!

Post of reference for anyone wanting to know....

Just did my first BASELINE test to work from... nothing overclocked.

3500+, 1gig hyperx, a8n-sli prem, 7800GTX

3dmark2k1 == 23402

Again, no oc'ing what-so-ever. Now... time to have some fun! MWHAHAHA!

my x700 is doing better than that with a mild overclock..... and its 8 pipe 128 bit, $120..... 23k is very low...

*shrug* I dunno why it's low--I hit 26696 as my best now. I do know that my system is being held back by the processor though

I know this is slightly off topic, but for the cold bug/throttling issue, I've heard that keeping the fan connector in use helps somewhat. Can anybody confirm this (with a regular BIOS, not the special ones with the deactivated throttling)?

Oh, and sysfailur...just tweak a little bit and those scores should come up....what are your 03 and 05 scores?

Haven't run em yet vapor... been working on high 1:1 FSB. I think I know what the problem was....

My timings were messed up before and because of that I couldn't run high 1:1. So I was running the mem slightly lower during benching (other than the base bench which was 1:1).

In any case, I just messed with the timings and air cooled (and the chipset PASSIVE cooled) I just hit 300mhz screenable 1:1. 290 benchable 1:1

I do declare, a voltage mod is in order!

yeah man your 01 seems super low, i got near your stock with a 9800np and nf2 rig!! not to great for a card 2 gens ahead... not bad with 05 though, great stuff opp keep up the great work! cant wait to see some phase cooling results!

And Durandal, OPP Is one of the most renamed overclocker in the world. He is very talented with his hardware and knows what he does. Additionaly, his cooling is way better then a Prommy GT... He has some cascades.... some -90C capable cooling. Plus, he currently uses some hardware that no one can afford, and he got them even before they were out so he could play with them.... But I said that many times, the OCer makes the OC, not the Hardware. And thats why OPP is often on the top

I can't run 1T really I don't understand what the prob is.. I've hit 349mhz fsb on it w/ passive cooling.

Just doesn't wanna do 1T.

Yea, but its only the SLI thats giving a good nature score, all other scores are beaten by a single x800! try a single G70 and show us the 01 performance

you going to run the games in 01 with your x800 anytime soon? didnt think so....

I just have to say that this thread inspired me to get a 7800GTX...loving it and even though I can't compare with those benchies by OPP, etc (mine=8702 in '05, 18307 in '03, 29606 in '01 - stock cooling), I love the card and I know it was worth getting rid of my old 6800GT
