wot cooling you got, temps look quite high
There it is.Originally Posted by p0tempkin

A TT Big Typhoon or TR XP120 would be closer to 53C load. Water would be even better. The fan on the Zalman doesn't move a lot of air.

hey guys who core is better? Manchester or Toledo? ....
I am not decided when buying 4400+ or 4600+

UK people who have ordered an X2 from komplett - have you had an email to say it has been reserved for you? I ordered a X2 4400+ from them on the 12th June, it says confirmed in 'my account' on their site but I haven't received an email saying for def.
I have an OcUK confirmation of the order but as per normal (which does not indicate a reservation of stock) I'm assuming I'll just get the second which will be shipping email when it's sent.Originally Posted by nicholarse
Best case that I'll receive that on tuesday..

NickK,
Just thought I'd bring this to your attention since previously you've mentioned your concerns regarding "out of the box" compatibility with your forthcoming DFI NF4 and X2 setup...

So even if the BIOS that ships with the board you get does not have support for X2, you CAN still boot and use the PC as normal - it's just that it will only utilise one CPU. Obviously this is more than enough to be able flash to an appropriate BIOS
(Note, I realise that XBitlabs were using a Asus mobo but the issue of single core recognition should be applicable to other mobo makers. Just suck it and see )
Fantastic! I'd already asked a mate with a single core just in case but that's a little bit more reassuring (although not a guarantee)
Good thing work is obscenely busy.. the wait will be torture!

X2s finally reaching Europe? Overclock.co.uk have the 4200+ in stock.
I see the 4400 has an ETA of the 23rd.

Slowly but surely. Komplett have 3 in stock of the 4200+ at the time of writing (16:20 GMT)...Originally Posted by Agent-JCDenton

...whilst the rest of the range is still unconfirmed for tomorrow (24th)
Umm don't you think we should have a discussion thread and a OC results thread? (look at the SD and Venice threads). Otherwise this will turn into a clutter of junk once ppl start getting their X2s.

On Zalman 7700-Cu Air. Load temps for the CPU were around 60C.

Stuck @ 2.6ghz for 4200+ (dual prime 95 stable for last couple of hours)
CDBHE 0515RPAW. 1.54v on stock air.
Bit of disappointment after 2.8ghz prime 95 stable venice but I defintely can use more of dual proc things for 80% of my computer usage than extra 200mhz...

Few trends I noticed... BTW, mine is 1.3v default v-core chip...
1) It doesn't overclock well until juice is there.
2) PWM temp is notably higher than single core.
3) Temp ramping up is bit steeper than that of venice once 1.5v threshold is passed.
4) I can't not find CPC on DFI bios anymore with this chip. I assume it defaults to 2T with 4 sticks of memory on...?
5) Dual prime didn't go well after 3 hours on one core. Using notch up CPU v-core now... 1.57. Priming okay so far for last 2 hours or so. I think one of my core is defintely better than the other one from few testing.... Maybe 2.6ghz rockstable isn't bad with these dual cores considering you got 2 cores to deal with.
6) I immediately noticed some smoothness on my daily routine of thigns I do... (like compiling and browsing few pages, etc) Haven't tried these ripping while coding but I am gonna give that one a whirl.
7) Gaming didn't degrae much at all (other than that 200mhz lost...) in fact with higher multi available than my previous chip, I got a little more bandwidth out of my memory (10mhz) and nothing noticebly bad in gaming aspect so far. I've always had issues when e-mail came in middle of CS:S where it freezes for a second and problem still persist... I think it is more issue of network than CPU utilization now.
Yes my chip defaults to 1.3V (1.26V Actual) as well, with my DFI LP UT.
Putting a fan over the PWM area stabilized my overclock greatly.
I think OPB mentioned this as well; he was noticing higher than usual evaporator temps once he took the Vcore over 1.5v.
CPC defaults to 2T with 4 sticks of memory, nothing you can do about it
hm p0tempkin that thing's looking good, what was the room temperature while priming ? Fan 100% ?
..and keep going higher !!
Yup, that is a good tool for stability. I'd still like one SuperPI to run multithreaded so that I can compare the results with singlethreaded scores. That would give me better idea about the performance gain. Sandra's synthetic bench is quite useless (exaggerated).Originally Posted by Agent-JCDenton
