Take a look at the clip. There is a dimple at just about the middle down the length of the clip. Use a little screw driver or some sort of plastic thing) to lift the clip where the dimple is and slide the clip off, then you can take the spreader off by just opening it a bit. That is what I recall seeing. Maybe it is in another forum where I saw how this is done.

i bought one on frys to compare it with my Corsair PC3500, the result was not good at all, it wont do 245 11-2-2-2-2 and 240. it also gets heat up at 3.0+ vcore.

    So what will it do?
At 3.0v it should do about 225, that's all...
At 3.2v it may do 240...
At 3.4v+ it may do 250...

And YES, all DDR heats up at high voltage...

I have been testing the green PCB stick 512 mb I have and sofar by its self it is 5,2,2,2.0 3.1V stable 225FSB on a UT250GB
That is pretty dang good for a 60.00 buck stick of ram.

I dare someone to show me another stick of ram that will run this good for 60.00 bucks.

TwinMOS Speed Premiums PC3200 with UTT for $55, plus shipping.

    OCZ Value VX

Just about any UTT based stick will do what the Mushkins do.

They are close to being interchangeable. Within each brand there are stellar chips and some not so stellar.

    Yeah, I can do 230@1:1,2,2,2,6,1T@2.9-3.15V
My psu cannot go beyond 3.15V. I will mod it to get higher voltage, but atm I am cruising at 230 with 2x512. Not too bad considering the price of this thing.

Mine are being returned tomorrow. One bad stick, plus they won't run 1T on NF2 boards apparently.

Hopefully I can find something better later...

Now, I am somewhat frustrated, but I realise, "hey, this is a full gig of CAS 2 memory for 120USD. Thats a great deal. I can be fine with 2-3-3-10 @ 2.8V. Alot better than what I had no doubt..."

2.8V and 2-3-3-10. Test 4 has 1 error, a bunch in test 5. Stopped it there.

So, it doesn't run stock speeds @ stock voltage. That's no good.

    Thoughts?
These memories need alot of voltage to perform well. It looks like you're using a NF2 motherboard. In my DFI NF2 LP Ultra B, I can do ~230FSB 2/2/3/10 @ 3.2V. Unfortunately, these memories need 3.4V minimum to start burning-in properly. Since the memories really heat up, you'll need fan directly blowing over them to keep them cool to reduce the errors.

Hey don't despair. I got two sets of the exact same memories as yours. They performed exactly like you described when I first got them. They could barely 200FSB 2/2/2/6 @ 3.2V on the NF4. Any more FSB or voltage would just generate more errors.

After burning them in for two weeks on my DFI NF4 Ultra-D, both sets of memories are responding pretty well. The DFI NF4 Ultra-D provides more memory options as well as more voltage. You have to burn-in each stick individually to their maximum potential and then run them in DC mode. Now all 4 sticks run at least 240FSB individually and my top pair will do ~250FSB 2/2/2/6 1T 1:1 @ 3.5V in DC mode.

For taking the HS's off this is the best way I think it can be done in my very limited experience:

First take the mushkin stickers off and void your warranty (you have to do this to remove the clips - you can probably also heat the ram up and the sticker may come off easy/unbroken so you don't have to void your warranty).

Next take a small screw flathead screw driver (most be really small) and use it to lift each of the two silver clips a bit. After the clips have been lifted a bit there should be space for a bigger flat head and the clips should pop off pretty easily.

Lastly put the ram back in the computer and run it at a high voltage for about 20 mins while running prime in a memory intensive mode. Then take the sticks out carefully pull the HS's off. There is an adhesive between the chips and the HS that takes a decent amount of force to overcome (enough when its cold that you risk pulling one of your chips off so make sure to warm the chips up first). Note even after warming it up there may still be a risk of pulling a chip off, I take no responsibility for your actions follow the above at your own risk This worked very well for me.

Wow: that is a lot of shipment charge. Maybe there is custom clearance cost and duty, etc. I suggest you call the courier and find out. They shipped mine to Canada for a cost of $21US via Airbourne (like next day service). There is a note attached to mine that they "maybe" sending me another bill for customs and taxes. It has been 2 weeks and I have not received any further billing. I'll keep my fingures crossed that I do not have to pay.

Err... my 4 sticks just died very recently and even before dying, I did have reboot issue from cold (where system wont recognize memory). I am using DFI-NF4 ultra D. I plan to get more of these sticks when local shop gets them on stock (monday). Only thing is... which bios works best with this memory for DF-NF4 Ultra D right now? Currently chugging along with Corsair Value Select (what a piece of...) till the shop has Blue in. Any help on bios that has no problem booting up will be appreciated. (Keep in mind I will be moving to sandiego from winchester platform in a week or two when my custom case is finised building up)

Bought 2 991140 (1GB) kits from Outpost. 1 green and 1 black. Opened black one and removed heat spreader. Found one stick with all BH-5 340wf and other with BH-5 one side with 320wf, other with 319wf. PCB seems to be Mushkin own type.

The sad part is that with 2.8V I can't really appreciate the full potential, will be vdimm modding 9NDA3+ for some 3.4V+ soon.

I have not opened green one yet. Only says BP 0815 and is problably BH-UTT.

Got a decent pic after taking my heatspreaders off. I found that dental floss helped out nicely for getting them off. Just heated them up and run the floss across them and they popped off pretty easy.
