Thanks Ssilencer, after thinking about it i guess it's not that difficult but it would be good to be sure.

Is there any way to power a 12v fan on the value unit and then just use a fan controller.
How do you set the defaults on the start temp ect.is there any way it can be changed later if i had the correct equipment.

To use a 12 V fan you can use a relay to start/stop the fan wihtthe unit.. If you need as relay PM me and I will send oyou one I got bunch from a company I bought out.. used but working.. ice cube relay///

The value doesn't controll fans, the X model control fans by evap temp, or you can set it in windows soft.

I wouldn´t advice to load the value psu whith a 12v fan.
btw the settings for the value version are fixed, and set before shiping.

I am starting to wonder if the fan control should be controlled by not evap temp but hiside condensor temp (of course, this means the setting need to be modified by individuals depending on gas used, etc). Might be more efficient method...

Hi Golden and ssilencer, i go my unit today from chilly1, and in one of his pm's

he said you guys have a firmware update for my G-froster unit to fix the

short time out when refiring the unit. Also something about software for the

    windows interface.

    Much appreciated

I'm not in my pc right now, you can contact me at msn msporta@cvtci.com.ar, and we can talk about it and send you the firmware update tomorrow.
Are you having trouble the 3 minutes restart? I'm using 3 minutes in my own build without trouble, but with the new firm and sioft you can change it to whatever you want.
Also, make sure you have a 12v fan, so you can control the fan speed with the froster X.
Do you have any pics or you can share with us your experience with the controller

Hi Ssilencer. i haven't installed anything yet, i am just following what Chilly1 said in one of his PM's to me about the G-froster unit. The 3minute start is no problem, but what is a good enough low temp. to start the computer? Is -10c acceptable? I believe this is the same as the Vapochills.

It probably depends on what your chip needs to perform the overclock you want.

I would go by -5c from hottest temp of evap the system will ever see :P Gives you some room while compressor is working up to temp and you won't crash in middle of booting up

sometimes my system needs time to go low, and if it has heavy load on it first it takes much longer to hit lower temps. Thats why i run the system stock for 10 mins then go directly to ocing.

    Golden , SS or chilly,

The value froster i have does not match the instructions chilly sent.
on the instructions it shows on the left side the probe , 5v monitor and 9-12vac connections but on the one i have it only has 2 connections.

the right side has pwr switch and mobo switch plus compressor on in the instructions and mine has a 3rd 2 pin conector.

is this the 5v monitor ?.

what is the jumper for and the 5 pin header.

i have a 12v ac 250ma transformer is this ok to power the froster.

What is the best way to attach the probe to the evap head drilling a small hole.

sorry for all the questions just want to make sure i dont damage it.

How exactly is the GoldenFroster controlling powering up/down the machine? Are you plugging the PSU's AC cable into the back of chilly's unit? Or is it running a wire up inside the machine to where the psu connects to the mobo?

    Thanks

This is the correct value instalation

The jumper is for select Centigrades or Farenheit

    A 12v ac 250ma is not apropiate, you need a 9v AC 500mA
Forget about the 5 pinheader, it was just to program.

Any other question, you can contact Golden by PM

That is a good way to attach the thermal probe, you can also stick the probe with a thermal epoxy.

    thanks Ssilencer that covers everything.
I have a small 12v dc psu pcb that i am going to use for a 12v fan and will get a 9v 500ma ac transformer for the value froster.
