[News] Acer unveils its new Predator X27 4K 144Hz HDR monitor

    http://www.fudzilla.com/news/43518-a...hz-hdr-monitor

At its next@Acer event held in New York, Acer unleashed a couple of new products including two high-end gaming monitors with Nvidia G-Sync, the 27-inch Predator X27 4K/UHD 144Hz monitor with HDR and the 27-inch Predator Z271UV curved WQHD 165Hz monitor.

The star of the show is definitely the Predator X27, which has a 27-inch 4K/UHD 3840x2160 resolution Quantum Dot IPS panel, supports HDR10, Nvidia G-Sync and has a high 144Hz refresh rate. According to known details, it also has a 1000 nits of maximum brightness, 4ms response time, 178-degree viewing angles and covers 99 percent of the Adobe RGB color space.
It also comes with two DisplayPort 1.4 and single HDMI 2.0 display inputs and supports Tobii eye-tracking technology, which, according to Acer, is now supported in more than 100 games.

The Acer Predator Z271UV is not half bad either, as although it does not come with HDR support, comes with a 27-inch 2560x1440 resolution TN-panel screen with 1800R curvature. It features a ZeroFrame edge-to-edge design, 1ms response time (3ms native), and also supports Nvidia G-Sync with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz and covers 125% of sRGB color space.

It also has DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 inputs, has a four-port USB 3.0 hub, two 7W speakers and comes with an ergonomic stand which supports tilt, swivel and height adjustments. It also supports Tobii eye-tracking technology and should be interesting to those looking for a high-end curved monitor.

I just want a $500 Predator X34. Is that too much to ask?

Man that stand looks soo flimsy. I don't like that. More interested in the Asus PG27VQ to come out in Q3 2017...hoping it's an IPS.

Damn, those are some pretty good specs!

i have to agree with Eternity here, Acer might get them out earlier, but ASUS tends to do them a bit better.

I have an Acer and paid a premium when it came out, but with hindsight (as it always is with the tech industry) i probably should have just waited for an ASUS that would have been a bit more 'perfect' for the price.

So why is it customary to post specs in sigs anyway?

Both this model and the Asus PG27UQ (different from the PG27VQ) are going to be $2K (as they are 4K monitors). Which is too expensive for my tastes for a monitor.

It looks nice but I'm not jumping on the 4K bandwagon until I can get 4K @ 120+ fps on a single video card.

Couple more years and video cards should be out that can do that.

    27inch is optimal for 1440p. 32+ for 4K

My ideal monitor would be 32+ inch, 4K, IPS, HDR, G-sync, 144hz, 1MS or less input lag, Curved - too bad it doesn't exist yet.
