[News] ASUS Teases ROG Crosshair VI Hero and X370 Motherboards

    http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/asu...herboards.html

ASUS on its Facebook page is teasing two AMD Ryzen compatible AM4 motherboards. The release of the processor series obviously invokes new chipsets and thus motherboards to be released as well. While we already have shared a number of things on the ASUS motherboards, they themselves are now teasing them.

Is seems that the main focus for ASUS are the Republic of Gamers Crosshair VI Hero and then the Prime X370 motherboards, much like the ones discussed before with the releases and publicly available AMD slide decks. ASUS once again is making a clear statement with the RGB AURA SYNC enabled motherboards. other then that you can spot the typical four DDR4 DIMM slots, M2 SSD capability and eight SATA3 ports. The animated GIF shows a thing or two alright.

Prices on these motherboards have been spotted as well, expect roughly 249 USD for the Crosshair VI Hero and 169 USD for the Prime X370-Pro.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say early adoption will not be beneficial. We may need dual 8 pin cpu power for the more extreme ocing endeavors.

if the board will let you pull more than 150W through the ESV and since there is no more quad/tri gpu would it really matter? i was under the impression that that was for the gpu.

At the top of the board by the PWM is cpu not vga power. course this concerns LN2 users only.

my ROG RVE says the 2nd one is only needed for 3 or 4 graphics cards in the manual, but the cpu did get happier with it in (but that could be since i remounted when i did it.) that said the hero and prime are the low end not really rog boards that have rog branding now that higher end channe, workstation overclocking, and strix are ROG. the extreme and apex if they come out should be more for overclocking.
