[News] AOC announces 4-sided 'frameless' Q2781PQ monitor

    http://hexus.net/tech/news/monitors/...781pq-monitor/

We've seen plenty of zero bezel or similarly described monitors with a chunky bezel at the bottom, which is then used for controls and speakers etc. Today AOC announced its 4-sided frameless Q2781PQ monitor with an ultra slim design, stylish asymmetric stand, and 'frameless' design of minimal bezels around all four sides. Its frameless nature is quantified as a difficult-to-believe "2mm of casing" on the official product page.

You may have already deduced from the name that the AOC Q2781PQ monitor is a 27-incher. That panel is of the AH-IPS type offering wide viewing angles and full sRGB colour coverage. A Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels is on offer here providing quite a bit more detail than the market leading Full HD screens, or 4x the resolution of a regular HD screen. Key monitor specifications are listed below for your immediate digestion.
    • Panel: AH-IPS
    • Viewable Image: 27-inch Diagonal, 16:9
    • Resolution: 2560 x 1440 @60Hz
    • Scanning Frequency: Horizontal: 30K~83KHz, Vertical: 50~76Hz
    • Response Time: 5ms
    • Colour Depth: 16.7M
    • Contrast Ratio: 50M:1 (dynamic)
    • Brightness: 350cd/m2
    • Viewing Angle: Horizontal: 178 Degrees (CR>10)Vertical: 178 Degrees (CR>10
    • Connections: 1x VGA, 1x DP, 2x HDMI

    No speakers? Good.

Asymmetical stand? Well, my OCD has problems with that lol.

    27"? Well, I'd prefer a 32" model, personally.

No VESA? Would be nice to have - that screen would look nice floating off a wall on a mount for example.
