I've seen people do this... I think here and on other forums, I know I've seen it else where. It always makes me think of those "attention whore" demotivational and lol pics.
This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions, twists all our arms collectively, but if sweetness can win, and it can, then I'll still be here tomorrow to high-five you yesterday, my friend. Peace.

People who use excessively large sigs have a mental issue that could use some professional help.

If the forum would let me use a smaller font, I would.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

Now if 30" 2560x1600 monitors were cheap, sigs wouldn't matter too much. That monster font is the only thing I can read w/o blowing up the size in chrome.

At least you can get 1440p 27" monitors in the sub $400 range now.

All jokes aside, I don't really get the point of HUGE font. I don't believe mine is pushing it, although ppl might not like my unrelated sig pic. :shrugs:

I don't like your sig, at all. Simply because I'm not a DBZ fan. That doesn't mean I have a problem with it being there, though

I find that people generally don't really care what I have or what I am tweaking.... The only way that comes out is when you're discussing it with other people.

The reality of sigs is that they are mostly self fulfilling, as we put things on their that either make us feel good/proud or things that we may find amusing somehow. Most people barely notice them unless they are massive and can't help but be noticed; which in many folks find annoying because it is generally unnecessary.

In reality the only reason a sig-less forum would annoy anyone is because of the lack of ability to put something on OUR OWN posts rather than the fact that we cannot see what someone else has placed there. We would all be perfectly happy if our signatures were singularly enjoyed along with no others.

So for that reason alone its enough to say "X amount of lines and pictures no bigger than x by 100 pixels. If someone doesn't like it, they can be reminded that nobody else will really notice or care.

I don't agree. I find sigs handy for a few reasons:

    1. It's nice to see some decent overclocks, especially if they're on arb hardware
    2. It's handy to know someone's specs when helping with a problem
    3. There can be some funny stuff in sigs
    4. I identify people by their sigs and avatars more easily than their usernames

I'm one of those that reads through a lot of sigs

I said sigs and avatars, not just avatars. If you tell me the guy with Rule 1A, Rule 2, Rule 2A, etc in his sig I know you exactly who you mean, if you tell me his username is Particle I know the name but can't place him

1600p does not really matter as much you would think, I have read this forum on a 1200p monitor for a long time. 400 extra pixels will aid, but marginally.
I also recognize people by their avatars and sigs, but it's split something like 80/20. Where Avatar is the majorly active "remembering-component". ^^

Yup, I hate it when people change their avatars as that totally throws me. Especially if someone else then later uses the same avatar as someone else did a while ago

I know I'm not the only one like that so I rarely change my avatar once I've settled on one, and it is an avatar that you won't find an exact replica of anywhere else
