as i can see from "naked" board part of PCH block with fitting holes don't cool anything. is it made to improve tubes routing or any other reason? and is there any need to put such big chunk of copper over 7w chip?
@vetelar: It's the only way to watercool PCH while still keeping all four slots usable. Ports are therefore moved above the first PCIe slot in order to enable quad SLI / quad crossfirex.
@chaotic: Not planned at the moment.

Sorry, but for me, ugly as possible, how it is possible to put that thing on a $500 board ?

Is there a backplate/cooling for the chokes and mosfets because I thought they need cooling on the backside too or does it not get that hot once watercooled?
Looks great to me

Waterblock - needs clean Acetal look with lines removed, needs EN Nickel plating
Board - Needs to be rid of those ugly white clips
Not impressed...but not surprising since nothing about X79 so far really impresses me. Any plans for a block for the X79-UD7?

I think it doesnt look that great was really hoping for a 1 piece design, however i am interested in the cpu block in the first pic. The nickel one that is on the table, is it a new block that is coming??
Why no copper only version?
Cooling under the i/o area heatsink and above the graphics card is not needed? Is the purpose of them on the original heatsink design just to dump heat from the heatpipes?
Main Comp (Win 7): ASUS R4E, i7-3930k @ 4.9GHz, G.Skill Ripjaw Z 4x4GB @ 2133MHz, ATI 6950flash/6970 Xfire, Custom Watercooling

Server: (Ubuntu 11.04) i7-920 @ 3.8GHz, 24GB G.Skill
as far as i can see no contact between i/o area heat-sink and above the graphics card part and MOBO (pic)
Tiborr, what kind of a full-copper CPU block top is that? Screws on top?
It kind of looks like the old ek block but styled more like the new HF?
In my head I keep picturing two black ek ram blocks on each end... hmm...
Looks beefy!!
