    Lytron Kodiak 4500 Water Chiller

I acquired a Lytron water chiller recently with 200ft of reinforced hose. It is a 220v unit that runs on my inverter for now but may be too much power draw in the long run. It currently cools down to 5c.

I will have it hooked up and benching soon.

It is the largest they make, 5900w capacity 1.5HP compressor that I am about to recharge to Isceon89 and changing the PE oil.

This has the serial option with remote switch.

Just for benching, no way practical for 24/7 use.

I can do 1kW @ -5°C at 300W on a single-stage chiller 5kW is an overkill any way you look at it.

P.S.: How much did you pay for it? :P

I was able to get the chiller for next to nothing. I saved it from going to the garbage.

Oddly this is what I need to operate my helium compressor that is still holding a charge.

No offense, but shouldn't this be in the chilled water section and not the Liquid Cooling section?

    Wow.

4500w minimum gives you some options, and even if it were a 1500w total PC heatload, with a bit of tweaking (not even gas, just 'trick' the sensor) and you'd likely see -20 or better (likely better) water temp if you wanted to.

5c is a nice temp to regulate the water to though. Serious power consumption but it's pretty close to free. Free is good

I know with the 89 in there and not a lot of work, with 1.5hp you could see -30c water under fairly high load. 18000 btu at 5c could easily be 3000 btu at -30 or better.

    Great score

This chiller could run quad SLI and dual CPU no problem.
