A couple notes: although we've been wanting a limited edition block for some time, the Apogee HD Gold IS the solution we are going to offer for those of you who preferred full metal blocks! The picture below shows the Apogee HD with a 24K gold plated brass housing. Serial number will be laser engraved. No MSRP or ETA yet but we should have more information about that very soon. There are a couple of reasons behind our choice for Gold: one is that the combination yellow/black is brand scheme, and Gold is just a great choice for a limited edition block!

As usual with us, your feedback is welcome!
    Cheers.

Nice, so is that gold plated brass?

    I just have one question...

Whats potential more confusing? SR-2 ish build with 2 Apogee HD blocks and EVERYTHING watercooled, or 2 gay men in a hot tub filled with donuts and sausage?

Touché (French) = touched (english) - synonyms: stroked, felt, handled, fingered, patted, fondled, caressed... (thesaurus) etc

So you really meant it with pun intended with that one! LOL

Got some results, not that they are comparable to others, but good for me!

    Apogee HD, Komodo 6900, 220qp, 320qp, iwaki RD-30, PK-1, push/pull shrouded YL High Speed.

63C full load hottest core on my 3930k at 4.95GHz 1.52v 72f room temp

When the 2011 Swiftech mount finally comes out I will switch to that retention method and check my contact / see if temps drop or raise at all. Right now I'm on the 1366 mount on the R4E.
    Main Comp (Win 7): ASUS R4E, i7-3930k @ 4.9GHz, G.Skill Ripjaw Z 4x4GB @ 2133MHz, ATI 6950flash/6970 Xfire, Custom Watercooling
    3x Asus VW246H eyefinity; Polk Audio Monitor 40's (L,R), CS10 (C), Klipsch KG^4 (S), Sony STR-DA1000ES; all in a custom built desk
    Server: (Ubuntu 11.04) i7-920 @ 3.8GHz, 24GB G.Skill

    We need DATA!!

With the X79s coming out I want to play with dual RAm watercooling + CPU and GPU.

Is swiftech a game changer or not.

I've just published comparative data between RayStorm and Apogee HD: http://www.swiftech.com/stephens-corner.aspx#tab2

I've also done some tests with a VGA water block in series with each CPU block to see how they perform with the added pressure drop. Although, there is a relatively small difference between the two blocks "alone", the addition of a GPU block in series increased this difference quite substantially.

stephenswiftech: is gpu block really in series with HD block too, or one of it's extra outlets used to paralellize? Chart title hints for former, but as such semiparallelizing is main distinctive feature of HD, it might be later, and in such case a bit misleading, as for apples to apples comparison raystorm+gpu should be parallelized with fittings. But if it's former case, then it's nice to see that your block is more low flow agnostic.

it was serialized the same way with both blocks.

Note: adding only one GPU, if I wanted to do a parallel setup I would have had touse the alternate configuration of the HD (http://www.swiftech.com/ApogeeHD.aspx#tab1 almost all the way down). Typically, in its regular configuration the HD is in series with the pump and radiator. Thanks to MP it allows to do a parallel sub-loop for whatever blocks you got after the HD.

Couple questions, are the barbs that are pre-installed removable? I've tried everything short of mangling the barb to forcefully remove it.

Is there an allen/hex key which is supposed to come with the block? What size are we to use to remove the stop plugs?

Of course everything is removable. 5/8" Socket wrenches work great for both fittings and plugs.

plugs allen key: 5/32" (also compatible with 4mm)

    Hi Gabe.

I recently purchased Apogee HD WB From PPC's - I already wrote a mail requesting AMD Compatible back plate to michelle@swiftech.com.

Is this an e-mail address I should work with?

I have not got an answer yet.
