Project: Lian-Li P80 & PA140.3

I'm starting this build to introduce myself and also get some help and advices because it is my first serious WC build.
1 year ago I bought Tt Kandalf LCS with built-in WC so it was my first water experience and since then I am addicted, forever But those case and WC was literally piece of crap and yesterday I've finally got rid of the last part - I sold the case.

So new day - new build, let's start.
Aim of this project is to build clean-looking and dead silent case. Also I'll try to push my CPU as far as possible.

Hardware list:
CPU: E8500
MB: Asus Maximus Extreme
RAM: 2x 1Gb OCZ Platinum 1600Mhz
GPU: Gainward 4870x2
PSU: Antec Signature 850W
Case: Lian-Li PC-P80
HDDs: 3x WD 2502ABYS - raid 0.
I intended to start this build in January, but there were some problems with parts so my CPU, MB and RAM is not high-end at this moment

WC parts list:
CPU block: Aquacomputer Cuplex HD
GPU block: Watercool HEATKILLER GPU-X² 4870-X2 LT
Pump: Swiftech MCP350
Radiator: Thermochill PA140.3 with Yate Loons D14SM-12
Reservoir: EK Multioption Res 150 Rev. 2
BP barbs, Feser tubing and some misc. parts.

Today I received the package from PPCs with barbs, reservoir, fans, clamps, drain port, rad and pump brackets so I just need to buy third HDD to complete the list.

At this moment I sleeved the pump, PSU sleeving is in progress.

Colors for this build are black and blue with some copper accents. Internals of the case are non-painted aluminum and I haven't decided to powdercoat them or not. What do you think?

Hi aka_GK. This looks like a fun project. Even though your hardware may not be brand new, that's still some good stuff!

About painting or powder coating the internals - it really does help the overall look and show off your liquid cooling efforts. It's really about how important that part is to you. I don't think it's critical to paint the inside if you're happy with the look of it as is.

But if I'll decide to powdercoat the case I still don't know which color to choose. I think black is the most suitable but it is rather boring, also black and colored pigments don't have any price difference Any suggestions?

You won't be disappointed with your Lian Li PC-P80, it's a great case :P

Are you using one loop with the PA 120.4 on the floor? That would fit really nicely.

I am already not, it looks nice
I am going to use one loop with 140.3 mounted in the front - I hope that would be enough with push-pull fans. If not I will mount another one in the bottom

Cool, you can use the three 140mm fans on the door to your advantage then

For some reason I read that aka was using a 120.4 not a 140.3.

I don't think they will fit

You could maybe make some from Aluminium?

I've already picked one I'll drill additional holes in this brackets and it will be fine

When I placed my order in PPCs UN bracket was not released yet Honestly I am not sure that this rad will fit in my case with UN brackets I'll take pictures and explain this later.

I measured everything again, rad width is 143mm, bay width is 147mm. As we can see here thickness of the metal UN rad bracket is made of is nearly 2-2.5mm, so I think it is the deal of 1 millimeter or so. Also there should be place for the screw. I sincerely hope that I am wrong and Dave have foreseen this options.

I've finished 24-pin so enjoy the photos















Yesterday when I had finished 24pin I plugged it to the motherboard just to check how it looks and, to my surprise, was not able to get it back from the MB It sat very tightly. So for now it is not plugged, sorry guys

I've noticed that cuplex hd is little bit off the overall color scheme What do you think may be I should change it to Heatkiller?
