    Update:

    batch: 3849A837

    24/7 OC
    200*20 - 4GHz HT on, 1.26V vcore, QPI/VTT and PLL @ default values
200*21 - 4.2GHz HT on, 1.32V vcore, QPI/VTT and PLL @ default values (i had one random BSOD with 1.3V as i said before)

    With G25 BIOS

    highest 3DMark 06 frequency:
    4.54GHz HT on, 1.44V vcore, 1.25V QPI/VTT, 1.9V PLL

highest AM3 frequency (board was unstable @ higher BCLK):

    highest OC with HT ON:

    highest OC with HT Off:

    With P09 BIOS

    max BCLK (1.35V QPI/VTT and 1.9V PLL):

    With G25 was 231MHz...

    Max Linx stable BCLK:

    With G25 was 224MHz...
So i can probably get higher clocks with P09 BIOS. I hope that i'll try that these days.

All (except max bclk) done with TRUE and 2x120mm Antec fans and with air temperature ~15°.

Same here, got mine from microcenter in san jose for $199. I've played with it a little but not to much.

I previously had a C0 stepping and the difference is amazing.

I was able to get 4.2Ghz with Turbo 4ghz without turbo with HT Enabled with only 1.315v prime stable for 3 hours. (I stopped the test after 3 hours)

I have not tried to see what the max clock is. Please share whatever you find out. I will post my max clock later when i get the time.

Guys, just a tip. maybe it;'s posted here before but i'll mention it anyways.

Prime 95 even after launching 8 workers does not fully stress the CPU fully. If you notice your temps, then open intel burn test or Linx and stress it with that, you'll notice temps get considerably hotter. I used to use prime 95, and over time I'll get re starts and stuff and I was ruling out stability because it'll run for many hours without stopping during prime. But I ran LinX, and it failed after 3 minutes only! So you guys might wanna look into that, the ones that test with prime.

NOTE THIS IS JUST FOR i7's. All other quads without HT don't suffer from this.

Yeah it's always a good idea to prime for at least 2-4 hours. Some ppl prime it even longer than that. but the way i look at it. There isn't a program or game out there that's going to replicate this kind of load on all cores. So a couple of hours is good enough.

Well back when I had my C0 I had prime run for few hours and LinX picked up an error within minutes. I had stability issues after a few weeks thats why I ran linx. Tweaked the settings a bit and it was fine after that. From then on I used LinX. It's true nothing else replicates that load, I was just giving out a suggestion that's all.

Prime stable is an old and respected term, and should be kept that way.

Even if LinX could sometimes catch some errors better, but that doesn't mean a totally stable system, either.

Prime 95 is what I use for anything that is not i7. Just doesn't seem to stress it well. For a another Quad like a Phenom or a Q6600 let's say it works and stresses better than any other. Just guess it has something to do with HT I guess.

I should have said, but what I meant by my original post was only for i7's. I'll go edit it now for people who have yet to read it.

I don't think HT is playing such a role on Prime run for i7 (at least as long as the Prime runs with 8 workers) . As far as I remember, LinX has always been hotter than Prime, even on my old E8400 (before the time of HT).

LinX seams to stress more and run hotter on any CPU, but sometimes may pass easier too (incl. on my current setup which passes LinX with a couple of notches less Vcore. I guess it is related to my MB).

Both LinX and Prime indicates a relatively stable system (with varying results), and none means a totally stable system. It is a good idea to have a little-rum of both, I guess. But Prime stable is still a respected term among many old timers.

I'm not saying otherwise, I just don't find it as effective for an i7.

    EDIT:
I'm sure that's the case on your setup, but my point is, this may vary a bit. It is OK.

Eva2000- have you tried this chip in your DFI yet? I'm still thinking about replacing my GB board, which has a wall at 215 BCLK (NOT the the CPU!). I've always liked DFI ever since the NF4 UltraD- best board I ever had

Guys can we get all the overclocks posted in this spreadsheet I made?

Post Batch# & OC Info Here

This thread's first post is no longer being updated (as with basically all batch#/OC threads - the OP's just give up or disappear) so I have made a form and spreadsheet
    that updates itself.

Just fill out the form, your results automatically go into the spreadsheet which you can view and download in various formats.

    Xeon W3520 3845B020

Belive it or not found my self a Xeon W3520 D0 3845B020 Batch !!!

Max I could boot in to windows and run PI on Air 4.7GHz @ 1.46v since my P6t Deluxe has a limit of 225 BCLK

I never could dreamed of getting that early 2008 Batch in 2009

Sorry the pictures bit dark & fuzzy as taken with mobile cam!

With out much trying got 4200MHz @ 1.26v HT on All CPU Features on and I belive if tried it can go as low as 1.232v !

    Initial test run with Linx

4720MHz @ 1.46v on Air 32M PI Calculation This is definately a reflection of my other Gem chip 3845B027 I sense 5GHz+ with proper Cooling !

I think I will keep it for my self!

I don't put too much stock in batch numbers, I returned 2 920's to Microcenter before I got one that overclocked good. They were all from the same batch and they all overclocked differently.

    Core i7 920 batch # 3911A331,4.2 Ghz, 20x210, Vcore 1.264v, VTT/QPI 1.200, DRAM 1.5v, everything else normal.

Crucial DDR3 1066 1680 mhz 9-9-9-25 (the cheap ones without heatsinks)

Ok here is the maximum I could get from my D0 and the R2E, not as good as I hopped for...

If I raise Bclk to 211 or 212 the PC would fail linx randomly even when I boost CPU voltage to 1.48 which I don't really like, If I raise the Bclk any more the PC would fail to POST!!!
