Question 1: Does anyone know how to eliminate the JMB363 nag screen that can pop up during bootup?
I have all my ICH10R SATA ports full with HDDs/SSDs, so I use the JMB363 (black) SATA port for my DVD drive. It works fine; however, I get a JMICRON nag screen that displays the DVD drive name for a few seconds during bootup. I can hit a key to make it disappear sooner, but it is still annoying. Any thoughts?
Question 2: Any reason that I would want to make my SATA port for the DVD drive (brand/model in sig below) AHCI as opposed to IDE?
I currently have it set to IDE and don't plan to change it unless there is some benefit to my DVD drive performance.

Have any of you had any issues with your memory speed when populating all six slots? I am thinking about getting another 6 Gb but Corsair says I may have to slow it down some with all six slots populated.

Probably a pretty stupid question, but is there supposed to be a pin in the CPU socket, that is not aligned with the others i.e. a bent (or not-bent, since all the other are) pin? Or should I just send it back and ask for a new board?

I ran into some problems again. After I installed Win7 on my secondary drive, POST become unbelievably long. Sometimes it takes 30 seconds to get the AsusROG animation going. Any idea what might have caused the problem? I am on 1504 for a while now.
EDIT: Actually, I found the source of the problem after disabled the Asus logo. The system is spending too much time "initiating USB devices" I have 13 usb split coming out of a single usb plug from the mobo. Am I using too much bandwidth out of a single USB channel? Or is there ways to quicken the POST process by limiting the USB and other devices the system checks during each boot?

For whatever reason I've found that some devices don't like being on a "splitter hub". I have an IR receiver that causes a long boot pause. However, when connected directly to a USB port it works fine. In your case it could be just a single specific device causing it as well.
110 pages and no one knows if theres suppose to be a bent pin in the socket? wow
None should be bent afaik.

Would anyone recommend this board still today over a Classified? Assume the Classified is $50 more.

Have both board overhere and i would recoment the r2ex for normal use and mild overclocking. The classified has some strange issues in booting still.
bclock also no problem with the r2ex with last bios
cooling the chipset helps in stability at high bclock. here it was watercooled.
max bclock

Do any of the R2E's have the new B3 revision of the X58 or are they all B2?

They are all B2...

But the B2/B3 thing is only errata enhancements right? What I mean is.. if one were to get into x58 now as I am, would you strictly look for a B3 mobo or not?

Anyone else having their board acting a bit crazy on higher cpu voltages? Like in the 1.45 + area with no LLC enabled. Could possibly be my c0 running out but it really seems more like a board issue to me though.
Also noticed the NB/SB starts getting super hot around the 1.45 cpu volts also.......
Well I just bought a RIIE which is most definitely a B2.
I was looking at B3 boards but almost all are cut down versions of B2 boards...
There are a few reports of high clocks with B3 boards (look for a Biostar X58A report in this forum somewhere) but the B2 RIIE is fine for my needs.

Its a great chip at air like this, watercooled also good , can do 4840 mhz 3dmark 2005, 4600mhz+ 3d mark vantage and 4860 32m pi , 4900 1m pi but need a good ln2 chip and this isn't.
coldboot at -100 coldbug at -117 but won't go faster as 229bclock at multi 23. multi 21 i can reach 246 bclock .
