    sell the P&S. TBH the D40 is light and small enough to carry around so long as you think ahead that you might want to take pictures.

    140 dollars for the 55-200 is a great deal. For the uses you mentioned a wide angle would be a more suitable choice, but there are no really cheap wide angles, and the 18mm on your 18-55 is good enough for most things.

    Would it be worth it for me to buy a LCD Screen Protector, they are on ebay and I found one that has been laser cut to fit my actual Camera. and it's a non scratch back, and no residue. so I can remove it later if I wanted. I like the idea to protect the LCD from anything that might happen in the future, but then I think I'm just being to worried about my new "Toy" and that I will be careful anyways and don't need it. but hey, it's only $10 bucks. might as well.

    has anyone bought, or used a LCD protector on there DSLR camera. and is it even worth getting? It's a little thick, I'm not sure I'd like the lip it would leave on the back instead of it being flat like it currently is. So I just thought I'd ask and see what others thought.

    let me know.

    Thanks!

    I didnt bother with it on my D40x, but i was super careful with that thing. If you think you might bang it around, by all means get a protective cover.

    On my D300 it has sapphire glass on the LCD, so I would be hard pressed to scratch it.
