    What BIOS your on?
I was going to play with those and figure them out, but it didn't want to play with me . Ok removing the battery for a few minutes didn't stop the cycle reboots... How do I make it stop this?

Edit: ripped apart my insulation to check and everything was flawless. Nothing is shorting, nothing is even slightly damp. I am too pissed off to keep doing anything so I will continue tomorrow.

That's weird after clear cmos without the battery it should NOT cycle boot anymore.

You don't need to rip off the insulation, just a DMM on short test.

Yeah take a break probably tomorrow you will solve the issue.

Try to boot with ONLY 1 ram stick.

    Hi all,

I have a UD3P + Q9650 + 8GB PC-8800...I think I can work out the RAM issues, but what do I need to do to get the chip up to around 4GHz? I want to keep my voltages pretty low on this system, how low could I go and still hit 4 Ghz?

What settings would be most helpful in achieving this besides vcore and disabling all of the throttling features?

    PLL voltage 1.57 or less
Dont push your FSB Voltage (VTT) low too like 1.2 or so.

    Cpu gtlref
    NB gtlref

    Keep around 63%

Not sure what those are, start searching or maybe someone will post a link up.
They are a pain in the ass but they are KEY i think to clocking on this mobo.
Once you understand them its pretty easy.

Anyone have a 500 FSB BIOS setting they can share. Leeghoofd, I think you used this board in your E6300, E7400, E8600 cache battle. Can you please post some settings you used? Thanks!

dude if you get that ram over 1600Mhz with out using a 3:5 divider i will give you a high 5. This mobo sucks ass for DDR3.

Dude running up to 500FSB is cake on this mobo. Drop the divider and run up the FSB. No problem lol really that easy!

What about vcore? I want to try to optimize the extra clocks/extra temps ratio...

Let me give some detail about my fan setup - right now I am working out some GPU shipping issues but I will be up and running soon:

Antec 900 - 3X 120MM fans blowing from the front of the case, 1x 120MM pushing out the back, 1X 200MM pushing out the TOP

TRUE - lapped, push/pull with 2x Scythe GTS at 1850 RPM

    9650 - lapped, MX-2 compound

My ambients are average, or slightly below average, for an AC room.

What can I expect at 1.3625, 1.3, 1.25, etc? I want to stay cool on this system so I will be messing with all of the settings, but this is my first time with a Gigabyte board so I don't know what they all mean...

Can you post some of your BIOS Settings? That would be great!

Right now I'm just starting off so I'm doing 10x400FSB with the 4.0A divider for 1600MHZ @ 7-7-7-28-PL8 with 1.96v in BIOS, LLC Enabled, 1.325v BIOS, 1.34v MCH, 1.24v VTT, all other on normal and Ref's on on auto for now.

Any help you can give me on 500FSB settings would be much appreciated

Which settings are these and how do I figure 63%?
On my Abit mobo GTLRF was clearly marked and adjustable by percent, so I'm puzzled.

Dunno what has happened, but ever since I upped VDIMM to 2.120v I notice positive voltage changes: (also using different 3pin fan headers for my fans, now also removed the silly NB cosmetica, added a 50mm 4000rpm fan there and over mem)

    A. VDIMM doesn't fluctuate at all, 2.096v idle/Small/Large load. 2.10v would be 2.080v idle/2.064v load.
    B. At 1.368v BIOS, vcore is 1.344v idle/1.328v load. Used to be steady 1.328v, but I'm now using 1.3625v BIOS and seeing progress with tweaking.

I have a feeling AUTO for MCH Ref isn't always "0.76v of CPU Ref 1.20v", I see now I'm always better off with AUTO or higher than the normal 63% of VTT, than the manually set value.

Even new EasyTuner6 is a mess. Does CPU Termination 1.32v exist on UD3P or is et6 showing false (1.30v) ? I stopped using prev version coz "start up cpu freq" would show 0MHz...current MHz also off by several MHz, sometimes even 10MHz?

Encountered the boot loop...Get if I change MCH Termination, or the CPU/MCH Drive values..Or, when I power off PC after saved to CMOS, while PC is booting.

Well, I may be P95 Blend stable longer than the 4hrs I had the other night @ 4.2GHz, 1.3625v BIOS with little more testing, more MCH Ref and more MCH Ref than CPU Ref - the difference between 4hrs BSOD and 10sec error in Blend: MCH ref one notch below "63%"

    Favorite thread on XS

I have read through the whole thing at one point or another, but I've always had a Q9650 in this board so have been ignoring dual core info.

Anyone have a quick link to a few dual core profiles for ~4.3-4.5ghz?

Lost my job and am in desperate need for money so had to sell my Q9650 and switch back to E8600 for my main rig. I've done a couple thread searches but not found any dual core profiles

My 8400 did 4400 (489x9) memory at 978 with the following settings

    Cpuv: 1.3500
    Cpu term: 1.200
    PLL 1.50
    CPU ref 0.760
    MCH 1.340
    MCH ref 0.740
    MCH DDR 0.910
    ICHIO 1.50
    ICH 1.10

This was prime stable small fft for over 10 hours. Max temp with TRUE120 was 57c.

Gigabyte have set GTL ref to 63,5% (0,760v), both for CPU and MCH (NB) in the bios.

    CPU Termination x 63,5% = CPU reference -> 1,20v x 63,5% = 0,760v

    CPU Termination x 63,5% = MCH reference -> 1,20v x 63,5% = 0,760v

(With a dual I found that MCH ref ~60% worked better then 63,5%)

One way is to set the CPU/MCH ref value when CPU Term is at 1,20, it change/scale with the CPU Term, so no need to change CPU/MCH Ref value even if you change CPU Term.

    Hope this help you some.

Guys, where are you getting the performance level "pl" for your memory? I can't see it anywhere.

    I'm on a UD3R... F9 bios.

I reallly don't what the difference is other than the e designation change.

Nope, donīt run either of CPU/MCH ref on auto, donīt work that great when OC.

CPU ref work fine with 0,760v (63,5%) with dual core
MCH ref works better with 0,720v (60%) with dual core

CPU term at 1,20v is the reference (base level).

    If you want ~60% -> 1,20v (CPU Term) x 0,60 = 0,720v.

Drop your MCH ref from 0,760v to 0,720v.

Here you can read some more about how the CPU/MCH ref works.

CPU Reference and MCH Reference are voltage % of CPU Termination, you can think 0.82v or 63%, but easier to discuss about them as %.

    1.30v CPU Termination and 0.823v CPU Reference = 63% = AUTO

Since ppl don't have calculators besides loaded Windows (), they have to bring back CPU Term to 1.20v, then set the reference % (and in fact know, 0.760v is auto 63%). Now, when you increase the termination, reference goes hand in hand, giving the same percentage, while increasing both termination and reference
