must be the wrong pictures, they say 2.970Ghz, 495*6 cpu-z, and real temp says 3.712,495*7.5 ?
Bug?
BTW use more than 1024megs of memory, try to do that same ten pass with max memory.

ok, well enough reading on this thread and might as well make a post..
i wanted to say thanks to Sergio for the help with memory idea's for the new USB3P i am getting.. Thanks
i have a UD3P with a Q9550 i got from NoGuru... been a great board thus far and no issues....
but i wanted to " try " something else out before jumping into a P55 or X58 and thought i might as well try a USB3P..
I'm going to be running the USB3P with the G.Skill Eco's for the time being...
Eco's
but hope to try out the
Super Talent Chrome Series DDR3-2000 2GB CL8 Memory WB200UB2G8
or
Super Talent DDR3-2200 4GB CL8 Dual Channel Memory - WS220UX4G8
i will be running Chilled Air water cooling until i take a drive to go see Kingpin and get a new F1 Gemini..
here was a test with my Q9550
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1342380
and one with my Rampage and E8500
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1336614
i hope to have a little fun with this new USB3P, should be fun on water and Dice with some duals, quads and maybe some P4's...
thanks for all the great info here.....
CHiLLiN1369,so your XtremeCuztoms huh?good to see you here:up

Well, I've been reading parts of this thread for over an hour and have barely scratched the surface. Based on everything I have read, I'm ready to purchase one.
I have two important questions:
I am trying to purchase the GA-EP45-UD3p, as I need a full featured mobo, but cannot seem to find it anywhere. Has it been replaced with another, newer model?
What is the general agreement on the best memory to use with this board? I'm not looking for record overclocks, just very good performance for a general use, digital photography and gaming pc.
Thanks for your help. If I missed something already mentioned, well, the thread is almost 200 pages long!
Well John...
they dont make the UD3P anymore so that is why you are having a difficult time finding one. they do show up from time to time but when they do they seem to sell very fast. there are other versions that can be found elsewhere.... like the EP45-UD3L/R and then you get into the newer versions which would be DDR3.. like the EP45T-USB3P (i just bought one today)
so do some searching and you may get lucky and find one... these are perfect all around boards for overclocking, gaming or anything you want to throw at them... even Dry Ice and LN2 cooling..
Good Luck
Thanks for the help, Chillin. I was just looking at the EP45T-USB3P you mentioned purchasing. Should I expect the same overclocking, gaming and everything else ability from that model? It's available at a great price, and I just can't see dropping $200-300.00 on a motherboard.
John
the usb3p price wise is almost exactly what a ud3p was when they were available. and DDR3 prices are sometimes better then DDR2 prices.
if your staying with socket 775 i can't see going wrong with the USB3P at all.
check newegg, they have them in stock... if you were closer to S.E. Mi i would suggest going to Microcenter in Madison Heights so you can see the board in person..
Is it fair to recommend the USB3P when its bios appears to be at an early production stage, and support from giga appears to be currently non-existent?
As most of us realize, Gigabyte (from what I recall) doesn't even mention the F2d beta bios (which does have some relevant bug fixes!) anywhere on their official sites. This is somewhat inexcusable, guys, and we know it.
XmX
you are absolutely correct... but i like to keep a hope alive that gigabyte is going to step up and provide more updates to their current boards that are on the marcket that are 775 based.
i can tell ya one thing though....... This USB3P hates P4's....
I had better results on my Rampage Formula then with this things...
I hate that it won't go over 1.4v ...... grrr oh well

Nice going Gaul What cooling you running?
I'm hoping to get a Q9550 from MicroCenter, but not one nearby. I wish they would ship those damn things!! I've been encoding some HDTV recordings and DVD with HandBrake and those extra 2 cores would help!!!

......and why should they on something with such a (probably) low margin?
The only time you have a shot with these guise, using PCSBT**, is trying to match their tigerdirect outlet or compusa brick/mortar selections with their eBay store offerings. However, this is a longshot as well. Recently, they had a 40" toshiba LED/LCD for $850 on ebay (free shipping) vs. ~$1200 at brick/mortar. Same product, same corporate family. The brick/mortar stores would not match their corporate overlords, or even offer a small discount.. LOL.
