Tested my rampage Extreme and my new Wolf as well yesterday.
    Some screenes for you.
90031p with fully aircooled. Single HD4870 with stock cooling and no voltage modifications
    http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/9...m01hugarl0.jpg
    620FSB Spi1M. No tweaks.

5000mhz Spi1M. No memory tweaks. No Spi1M tweaks. Just a run.

    600FSB and 4500Mhz @ 1,325V Vcore, bios boot. Stable.

Sry, didnt want to waiste time with Prime95 longer than that

CPU cooler is Scythe Andy Samurai Master.
HD4870 is on stock cooling and with asus top bios on her.
Mem is OCZ PC3-12800 Golden edition 2*1gb sticks what i confermed to be D9JNM
True that Rampage Extreme dont get well along with any decent micron ddr3 chips. Sometimes its fully stable and then its not posting at all.
Mine does not do 1T at all. At least i can do 2000mhz 7-7-7-17 with 2,18V on sticks . I dont run it usually even for top scores because 2,18V is really too much for ddr3.
Im using 0301 and 0403 bios. Thiese are the best so far. Both dotn work at 1T command rate tho .
Im Happy with my second E8600. It turned out to be good chip. Have wasted tons on money searching for that. I have had E8500, E8400, E8200 etc

Anyway. I hope that screenes help someone to get 600FSB+
you dont need to adjust GTL voltages really. They are very tricky and usually just lower your max FSB. Leave GTL voltages to auto. Turn out all crap. But around same voltages as i did on MB. (see last picture)
Put fan on NB because it gets really hot even with 1,5v.
If u have nice CPU you should get to 600FSB easily.
    Cheers.
    Kris.

    Hello to you all!
I ve ordered my new rig and among all other stuff i will have a Rampage Extreme mobo a QX9770 cpu and this pair of ram Corsair 2GB DDR3 Dominator 2000C9DF Twin3X (2x1GB) (TW3X2G2000C9DFNV).
The system will be w/c and i was wondering if those dimms will be fully compatible...Asus have them in the QVL list but it says "overclocked"
The dims perform at 1.85 volts and their CAS is 9-9-9-24 .
Would i be able able to run under that settings and get their 2ghz speed or will i have to downgrade them? The rig is mostly for multimedia purposes and gaming and i was thinking to try 450mhz fsb x 9 multiplier...Any suggestions???

What BIOS is that? I'm using 0403 and what I set in BIOS for VDimm is what's fed to the memory. Up to and over 2.1V.

OK, tested: in 403 i can set normally the Vdimm.
Now that I have this bios reinstalled i will continue with some tests. As I have corruption problems in bioses, you never know what can happen in every reflashing...

    Just from the OCZ Forum:
Samsung is on the 2000, the 1800 and 1600 are Micron, based on the last info I have.
@MRLJ: It seem that you have the right path. We see tomorrow...

Still unstable in 403 here. But...less than the previous flash. Only freezes on testings, not restarts, and at least now I dont have to unplug the power from the wall to shutdown the PC in hard freezes.

    Hi to ALL!!!

I'm a new owner of this powerful mobo....!...I have soem questions:

    - For Eternal Fantasy:

Are you sure that your TR Mosfet are the Type 1???...For the rampage formula Type 2 must be used (from the thermal right site, under the compatibility list) where i've seen no mobos to use the type 1 and i don't think that the 2 mobos are much different in the use of TR mosfet...

and....on the second page i see the Enzotech mosfets cooler near the NB...do you use only the TP to keep them firm???...Or do you use thermal adesive?...If yes...what type do you use???

Now bye and thanks for all!!!...!

Okay, couldn't take it no more.

I ordered this mobo together with 2x1GB Gskill HZ (let's hope it won't have any start up issues, fingers crossed) and a crossbow backplate.

I already have a nice E8600 that's running OCCT @4.5GHz with 1.3V under water atm.

Anyone already tried to fit an EK NB block to replace that fusion block?

Here's part of my build arrived that arrived yesterday (the Rampage is in here somewhere):

And the rest arrives tomorrow. Have read through all of these posts and don't see anyone using the Corsair DDR3 XMS RAM anywhere (unless I missed it?)

Kinda worried since the heat seems to be a major problem with this board and I do expect to push it - especially with 2x HD4870x2's mounted. Is there a consensus on cooling? I'm using a the Swiftech kit for the CPU, am hoping to do the rest on air. bla.

You can with a modded backplate or with a Xigmatek Crossbow backplate, see page 2 of this thread.

Im using Type 2 Thermalrights for my mosfets, the HR09U Type 2 and HR09S Type 2 to be exact, and they fit/work great.

As for sticking ramsinks on the NB mosfets, i used thermal adhesive in the end (kept falling off with tape). Im using AS thermal ahesive, cut with AS5, somewhere around a 60/40 mix. Ive done this a few times now with little problem, but remember there is always the risk of pulling something off the board if u ever want to remove them.

Yes I'm sure mine is Type 1 as they were the only ones in stock when I brought them. Had to extend the thermal tape as the short side of the mosfet sink was too short for the Asus motherboard. It was not made for it however they do fit with minimal modding.

You have to mod it, or use the universal plate.
I've done this, like others on this thread

That chip placement's a real bugger. My 790i look's like it's on it's way out and I've been considering this board. Not really great for a standard vpochill backplate, or my trusty thermaltake backplate for watercooling. hmmm

Kimi.Rk said with washers, it will be ok.
For phase change its another thing to put more isolation.

You're right, easy enough, just need a different backplate if I go back to water. Looking at the Swiftech GTZ, that comes with a cross plate i think.

New to phase, but I think a different story. Problem being using the heater for the back of the motherboard.

Replaced the tim on mine with MX-2.

I also removed the two plastic washers (circled red) at the NB area, hoping to get a bit more pressure around there.

Awaiting my Gskill HZ's and crossbow backplate now.
