When i edit bios , fan speed is ok but GPU clock max to 700 and vGPU doesnt change.
@Battlestar: I am also missing the area indicated by red box, however, I just used the graph and bumped the minimum up, and steepened the slope some. However, Sensors (page in GPU-Z) doesn't accurately report GPU speed when operating in 3d mode, just sits at 500 all the time... Not sure if this is just cause its early, or what.
Also, my down clock to Power State 1 (power play 2d setting) doesn't change clock speed at all. So I'll try another setting... Perhaps I just have to use the right numbers. Can anyone confirm if changing voltage in Bios with RBE actually works? Or are we bound to mod for voltage tweaks?
@Battlestar; just PM me and I'll email you one of what I have that works fine for my fan speeds. I don't have power play under clock working yet.
I was wondering, does the voltage control actually work? If so then hard-vmodding would be absolete, right? Nice!

I have tried putting the voltage adjustments up to 1.4v but this results in only 1.21v...which is still .05v over stock so it's a small increase and allows you to go to 725-750 core.

Okay, good to know before hard modding, I want to find out what the max is of my core.
Take a look at this shot. it's my bios for 710core and Powerplay at 160/500 in 2D.
Just replace al of the 710's with 800's (and giveup your corresponding voltage) and it should work. And disable Overdrive in Windows, or it wil override your setting of 800

What drivers are you guys using? The Hotfix I presume?
@biftek: Yep. Although, I never really encountered any stability issues with 8.6.
BIOSTAR TP67B+ | RPP 750W
Core i5-2500K @ 4.7 GHz | TRUE
256GB Samsung 840 Pro | X-Fi Titanium
16GB G.Skill Ripjaws X | Sapphire HD 7950 3L
i got my visiontek 4850 doing 725/1050 no problems so far. what benches are you guys using for stability on these cards since ati tool doesn't work? I remember using the fur renderer when i had my 8800gt and it killed 2 of my cards and i know of several other people that had their cards die on them, so i don't really want to use that for stability testing.
E8500 (4.2 ghz)
Crucial 800 8gb
Abit IP-35 Pro
Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme
Hr-05 NB heatsink w/ 80mm fan
GTX260
Antec Quattro 850 psu
28" I-Inc lcd monitor
Logitech G9
Logitech G15
For anyone who is interesed, I have modded the 4850 MSI bios....not only have I raised clocks and voltage under load, but I have improved on the powerplay feature as well as the fanspeeds. IMO this is how it should have been shipped from the factory...it is a bit loud while gaming and such but this way the cooler is actually effective!:

All the reference 4850s should be able to do this, but if you are getting crashes then I can make you up a slightly less aggressive profile, or you can edit it yourself with the RBE tool. I recommend stress testing with rthdribl and some Crysis benches.

Hi Gurusan,
It seems your pretty active on this thread Can I ask a favor? Could you make me one that comes with:
GPU Clock: 675Mhz
Memory: 1000Mhz
FanSpeed 60% on Load and 25% on Idle?
Clock Info1:160/500?
Clock Info2:500/750?
You may DL the stock BIOS of my card here: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/i...ace=&memSize=0
Thanks-Battlestar

Great work people! How about putting in some benches? The memory can hardly be overclocked and I wonder if with such aggressive core clocks (such as 925MHz :O) the card is bandwidth starved?
For example, a comparison benchmark between 800-900MHz would do the trick
Thanks gurusan!! this will come very handy!! I did my own profile with RBE too, but I couldn't fiddle with vgpu settings. I might give this one a try after lowering the core and mem freq. to a more acceptable 680/1075 (these ones I know my card can handle...)
ASUS P5Q DLX 2201 | Q9400 @ 3680Mhz 1.26v (BIOS) cooled by Corsair H50 w/ Noiseblocker Multiframe PWM | 2X2 OCZ BLADE PC2-9200 @ 1150Mhz 5-5-5-15 1.80 (BIOS) | SAPPHIRE RADEON HD5870 @ stock speeds | PC P&C Silencer 750 Quad | iiyama ProLite B2409HDS
One could explain me what is the difference between State 1 and State 3 in RBE ?
And now much can we increase Vgup ? Is there a limit ?
Try this, the fan profile may not be exactly as you want it, you can play with the slope using RBE:

The stock bios is 1.15-1.16 load, my bios is 1.20-1.21v load so you should be able to do much more than 680mhz on 1.2v No harm in being conservative though

I have a small problem with RBE: every time I mod a bios and save it, i lose all the voltage settings, they re replaced with ---
For example if I open an official bios file or your bios Gurusan in RBE, i see the voltages, but when I save the file and reopen it all the voltages are gone (---).
