WCG/BOINC Milestones

Unfortunately I use this computer all day long so it is not max'd out for WCG. It runs the home automation, EMS, security & access, secondary storage, and I screw around with lots of animation and video ripping/editing. It is my primary workstation and is what I am answering this thread from.

That being said, this is what is still manages to produce for WCG in the side/night:

app_info.xml is set up with two threads per GPU (.5), one per CPU core (1.0) all night and then off/on during the day.
~ 68K PPD
980/1375mhz
watercooled, 41C max loaded
750-800 watts on the rig (see sig for extent of components, lots of add'rs)

My WCG ATI_hcc1 crunching PPD were closed to yours. I ran 4 WUs per GPU and only had a couple of full days where crunching was not disrupted by other computer use. 4 WUs per GPU produced 3 to 4 code 233 errors per day (nothing down the pipe) but no invalids. 3 WUs per GPU may just be the sweet spot for a single 6990. the single 7970 that has replaced it is much more efficient at crunching but not as good as the 6990 for gaming and video work. I am going to transfer the 7970 to a crunching rig and get the 6990 back into my working/gaming rig.

Oh don't I agree, my wifes little 1100T with an one aircooled XFX 7970 950Mhz card is cranking out 110K PPD and she is on it all day long and half the night. It is driving two 27' monitors and she is multi tasking it to death,sometimes working in six windows at the same time, so you know it is only efficient overnight. If it just sat and crunched, I bet it would be 150K-170K PPD.

Just to clarify he's been running boinc for years, I just convinced him to jump ship to our team, and the gpu linux wu's showed up a day or two later. I do the compute for science because of him, he got me started lol.

Yep, it seems like i did, sorry about that, don't know why it doesn't show those milestones up front on free-dc, and today again, XS_Ozzfest05 already passed 30,000, but it doesn't show up front.
It does show here: http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...bwcg&team=8674, but then again it doesn't show yesterday 25,000 from XS_Ozzfest05, it only shows up in his user stats.
I think free-dc still isn't up to 100%, it has been going through some problems.
