Microsoft Opens up a SkyDrive Service

Yes this is the name SkyDrive.

I got an email from Microsoft today offering a free 5 GB online storage.

meh, just checked the skydrive website and this service isn't available in my region

looks like it's us-only, he? (like so many other services...)

i'm guessing you can't use this for direct hosting like for sigs?

That is what I'm concerned about. I will try and let you updated. The theory is simple online storage can hold multimedia in general.

Edit: Look at my 2nd sig below the one that is already attached. Yes it does work quite good.

Yes It works as long as it is public. The protect folder only you can see it, if that is the destination anyway.

1 billion of people and the internet is growing there everyday with more than 172 million Internet users. Microsoft would be broken, joking but this will take sometime to be sorted out as it is a huge internet population out there who may use the service.

Its a cool idea but the only thing I'm not liking is that the upload size is limited to 50 MB per file.

ahhh yes I see it, very nice, also very long URL, but I guess that is what URL shortening services are for

Damn.. thats a real deal breaker. I was getting sort of excited about this.
