    Exahertz could you try distilled water and some anti aglae stuff and see if it is conductive

    4 drops of Pure PT Nuke

    947 Ohms

    Now when i mix the 4 drops in distilled water:

    ∞ ohms... however it was a dead short at 250vdc

    Thanks Exahertz! So distilled water with anti aglae is not conductive as shown in the second picture?

    Umm so basically everything except distilled water is conductive

    And even distilled is conductive if there are contaminants (and there almost always is).

    Yeah i guess so. Oh well just have to be more careful when i am setting up to prevent leaks

    Considering that we're not really dealing with anything above 12V DC... 250V DC is an acceptable short voltage

    After all, you can get air to short if the voltage is high enough...

    so why wont oil conduct? what if it had contaminates in it?
    and furthermore (dont laugh) why hasnt there been a liquid cooling loop with oil pumped through it (and of course using an oil pump)?
