I got my Q6600 prime stable at 3.8ghz with a ambient temp of 32C. Anyone have a clue if I dropped the ambient temp 10C how much my OC would improve I'm just so eager for them to fix my buildings AC. Right now it loads at 69C, I could probably drop the volts a little bit to cut a couple degrees.

Dagalidis is there any special setting that you are using for CPU-Z to get voltage readings that are not a multiple of 0.008?

Both my Asus boards give such readings, e.g. 1.528, 1.432, 1.504, etc.

    Acheiving stability at 3600

Guys, I need some advice. I had my chip stable at 3440 (430*8) 24/7 prime, small ftt and blend OCCT cpu and ram rock stable at following settings:
    430*8
    vcore 1.3375/1.30,
    LLC enbl,
    NB 1.49,
    FSb 1.40,
    DRAM 860 1:1,
    DRAM 5-5-5-18,
    DRAM volts 2.0v,
    DRAM static read enable,
transaction booster disable, relax level 1.
    most every thing else auto.

    I changed recently to
    3600
    450*8
    vcore 1.38125/1.34,
    LLC enbl,
    NB 1.51,
    FSb 1.40,
    DRAM 900 1:1,
    DRAM 5-5-5-18,
    DRAM volts 2.0v,
    DRAM static read enable,
transaction booster disable, relax level 1.
most every thing else auto. temps 70,69,68,68 load

OCCT mix is stable (6 hours,)
    OCCT RAM stable (2 hours)
    OCCT CPU stable (2 hours)
Prime 95 small ftt stable (8 hrs)
Prime 95 Blend crashes at 45 min to 3 hours
Photoshop did a BSOD out of nowhere

MEMTEST stable 4 passes at current settings

I need to be stable for 24/7 use. I do not know where do I go from here? Increase vcore, fsb, DRAM, NB or all ? Rather than try and experiment forever, I thought Ild ask the experts.
    Ideas and recomendations greatly appreciated.

First of all disable DRAM static read, enabled makes your ram unstable at OC...
Then try to set transaction booster enable, Boost level 2 or 3 (see where you Get), this increases your ram performance.

Redo your TEST to find the max fsb can handle your mobo - cpu and if you want TRY also multi X9 to relax FSB on chipset....

400X9 = 3600 MHz also but your chipset may run cooler....
I have maximum stability when NB never pass 1.41V...

    1) I cannot get stable with transaction booster enable. Cant even post at times, have rather stupid ram for OC
    2) May try lower NB volts. I do have 4*1 GB RAM which stresses NB more
    3) Would like to get 8*850 stable for higher memory OC at 1:1. If not, will fall back to 9*400
4 Tried Disable DRAM static read control. Still crashed P95 blend
    5) Max FSB tried was stable at 475*7 for 3325 but with 2gb RAM only

Yes, its Hard to OC with 4 ram modules and maybe you must get a better pair of 2x2 GB rams...

Got sick of it being too hot in my room and just installed my AC unit and came up with this. Still doing some testing to make 4ghz stable.

I'm ditching the Q9550 because of the FSB wall on the P5E and going back to Q6600. Was trying to go 440x8 but don't want to push too much vcore. Right now, prime for 1 hour 435x8 1.3375 bios 1.304 load. RAM at 522mhz 2.06 volt. Temps holding at 70c, that's with 2 HD3870s that idle at 58c and heat up the case.

Yes, but it passes Memtest many times over and 6 hours of OCCT mix. It must be NB needs more juice with 4 sticks even with relaxed timing.

When pass 85C the System restart... lol
Its NOT stable due to high temps and high power consumption (VRM)..

    Hello!

Today I got same L808A892 as strumf666 has, with lower VID: 1.2125V. I beleve we bought our quads in the same store (he has handwritten F108 on the box, on mine is F109).

Looks like L808XXXX are the one to get.

Still testing lowest voltage needed for 3.6GHz, temps are quite high, SI-128 SE doesn't manage quads well...

for now 30min Prime stable 3.6GHz at 1,26V (in bios 1,275V)

Which one shows more accurate temperatures, CoreTemp or RealTemp?

I've gone quad now - my G0 Q6600 arrived today and it's an L807 with a VID of exactly 1.3v, which is not bad. Hopefully it'll be a good overclocker and the temps won't be too high.

I read somewhere that Tjunction for the new G0 Q6600s should be back down to 85°C. The only reason I'm drawing attention to this is that my temps are reeeeeeally low at the moment - I have my Q6600 at 3.6GHz, 1.45v (BIOS) and the idle temps are lower than my E6750 was at 1.375v. WTF?

That voltage is just plain amazing. That's about what my VID is. What's the VID on that chip?

Yeah it is amazing, but 30mins is nothing. The VID is 1.2125v - it's in the picture. I'll need at least 1.5v to get 3.6GHz Prime Stable, but I'm not after such high 24/7 frequency. My Q6600 at stock is close in performance to my E6750 at 3.6GHz.

what kinda 24/7 clocks could I run with a custom, single-stage phase unit? 9x500?? Is it worth it for a Q6600 L737B? guess the next question is which mobo to match it with?

Hey so I asked this in another thread but I figure you guys would have some insight. I've heard contradicting things about Q6600s and IP35 pros as well so I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck cause this next processor is prolly going to be the last upgrade for it and I plan on having it for quite some time. The next chips are in a new socket aren't they?

Well I have no doubt a e8400 would be better for gaming but I like multitasking and such running adaware/ chatting between matches or flippin in and out of the game between rounds to surf. Curious how much of a difference running say an antivirus/ or spybot while playing a game would differ between a e8400 and a Q6600 would be. What do you guys think?
