    E6400 ES 4MB Cache A1 Stepping

Thought some of you would enjoy this:

    E6400 ES 4MB Cache A1 Stepping with 4,6, and 8 multis
P5B Deluxe GTLRef Modded by me
Copper Pot from Kiwi (Thanks again) with dry ice
    1GB Buffalo Firestix

Voltage is at 1.62v and need to mod the board some more but was in a rush to test out my Q6600 ES with the GTLRef mod. Was able to hit 480 FSB before the mod and guess what, nothing more with it. Got irritated and then decided to put this E6400 to the test.

Is this a new A1 WR? Don't know so I thought I would ask.

BTW, thanks TiN_EOF for the explanation.

Not E6420, Its E6400 ES w/ 4MB L2, they are early test pieces, and not really overclockable. I had one, and the WR was I made: 3853mhz on Vapo LS, so danny_discus break the WR too, congrats

You should use springs with your mounting to get better contact with the pot.

The VR are for GTLRef mod and there is more info on that here:
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=130149

On most boards besides P5B Deluxes there have been proven improvements to FSB on Kentsfields. I did the mod but was unable to get anymore FSB after many voltage adjustments.

I hope so, but this is a very early stepping E6400, A1 is before B0 I believe

E6420's do have 4MB of cache but so do all retail B2 revision E6400's and E6300's, but 2MB is disabled. This is just a very very early ES with all of it enabled, as you can tell with the SuperPi time
