athanatos : it is a 3mm thick armaflex with one side scotch, very easy to work with.

startkiller : do not know about noise, akasa is for looking above all, and phonic isolaion after.

PS: I had never heard the unit in work, the construction still in progress, first run, the 11/04 I think, with R404a fill in.

I think he might be talking about freon getting into the coolant if the coil in the res (pardon my ignorance, I don't know the exact terminology in chilled water systems) leaks

lol what do you mean? I mean I think he means the coils have r404a. I think he's saying what if the r404a leaks into the coolant that the pump is circulating through the tubes and blocks.

Do you mean if you have a leak in the system that the refrigerant will get into the water?

What is the purpose of copper coils before the condenser?
Also, isn't the condenser too small? To be effective, it will require high rpm/noise fan.

At first this unit wasn't supposed to go under 0°, with the mix butan/propan I used this little condenser would have been enough as the discharge pressure wouldn't have been over 10bar, but now it will run with R404a so the discharge pressure will be a bit higher but I've pressure-tested the HP part over 30bar so pressure isn't a problem. About the copper coils before condenser (desuperheater) it will help just a bit (because the ambiant temp will be a bit high and so the thermal transfert will exist ...), but its purpose was to make the unit nicer (I found this nice )

It would like to congratulate damsxx and noobzed for their work on the unit (electricity and insulating), it looks more "professional" now

    Case finished at 95%..

Need to plug Tygon and insulate it, do the top of the tank, polished the copper, fix condenser with screw, write something on the tank , check the whole case.

looking good.. I have a doubt: what is the second cable near the pump cable?

You think the pump can withstand corrosion and expansion of the entire housing and such?
Nice insulation, make sure you have a backplate though as that does look a bit skimpy.
